River Road Mansion

We hosted a wedding for around 50-60 people while renting the mansion and the guest hosue. The experience was twofold, one, the place itself. It's beautiful, the rooms are spacious and well decorated with comfortable beds for your guests. the grounds are large and can host a decent size of event. However, the place is riddled with issues, prominently the light fixtures throughout the property are not working, the basement/cellar is completely dark, the coffee machines are riddled with mold, door handles are wonky, spider webs everywhere amongst other myriads of small issues. Secondly, the communication between the owners is messy. If you have the pleasure of dealing with younger Daniel, you are in luck, he is flexible, polite, considerate, and will work with you to host a successful event. He even offered us to help decorate the place and was wonderful to work with. However, the problem arises when you will be working with older Daniel who seems to be the primary caretaker of the property, he is argumentative, rude, and not flexible at all. Apparently, he lacks proper communication with younger Daniel and will not hesitate to assert his authority over you and your guests for it. We were given permission to decorate the outside before our check-in time by younger Daniel, however when people reached to decorate they found older Daniel plainly refusing and being argumentative in general. And again during our checkout, he came an hour early than the agreed upon checkout time and was argumentative and harassing us. It felt like he wanted to assert his authority over people who rented out his place and in general have people not be there. Overall, the experience was riddled with issues, we had to clean up the place before the event, make do with a lot of issues throughout the property, but in the end, we were able to host a decent event. If you are considering this property, make sure to speak with younger Daniel and only rent if you liaise with younger Daniel, he will help you host a successful event and will work with you. If you have older Daniel to liaise with, be ready to be harassed, and bothered at every step, he will dictate terms and try to make as much money off you as possible. Our advice would be to look elsewhere.
