Rivers By The Sea

My now husband and I were looking for a wedding venue near York and we were dreaming of a place where we could hold an intimate ceremony, reception and after party that could accommodate the wedding party and was comfortable for our 60 guests. We found Robin Hill and it checked every box!! Robin Hill was the perfect venue for what we wanted out of a wedding, and the lilac trees were the cherry on top. It provided the most incredible backdrop for photos, and was well equipped to host everyone comfortably for multiple days. We were able to get a tent, multiple tables, and decorate with lights and lanterns on one side of the house, and take photos on the other side. Rain changed our day-after beach plans and we were able to comfortably host our guests inside for an impromptu Chinese food dinner and kitchen dance party. We did a lot ourselves (cake, decorations, flowers etc.) and Robin Hill was spacious and made it so much easier to spread out and do any project. Don and Mary were incredibly communicative and helped us with anything we needed. If you are looking to have an intimate, comfortable wedding that people aren’t going to want to leave, Robin Hill will be perfect for you, just like it was for us. 

Don and Mary made my daughter’s wedding feel like a fairy tale! Their home is magnificent and comfortable and was the perfect backdrop to the event of her dreams. The home is definitely designed with entertaining in mind with tons of serving pieces, glass ware, tables and a huge kitchen that made prep work easy. There are  multiple places inside to gather and have both  quiet conversations and raucous moments without being separated from each other as each room flows into the next.  When I was unable to meet with a vendor, Don and his team stepped in to help offering great suggestions and they made sure the house and grounds were in top shape for the ceremony.  My daughter wanted her friends to be comfortable and be able to hang out for several days, and the home definitely fit the bill. The beds, bedding and bathrooms were comfortable and had plenty of blankets and towels to accommodate all of her guests’ needs. We never felt like we were at a “wedding venue”. We felt like we were at the home of a best friend or beloved family member. The pictures from the day were magnificent and “Robin Hill House” was definitely “best supporting character” in the entire weekend.
