rector of Events) was poor. It was very hard to get a hold of her - sometimes responses to our questions would take 2+ weeks. The venue doesn’t have a big informational packet with information about add-ons, FAQ, etc. so Grace is the only way to get questions answered. Before we booked the venue we were told there’s a shooting range on-site we could use. We discussed our interest in using it with Grace multiple times throughout the process. It wasn’t until 1 week before our wedding when she mentioned that it would be $60 per person to use the range - information that should’ve been disclosed to us upfront. There were many clerical errors that were made when it came to billing. Dates and amounts were incorrect. In our contract, it states that we reserved all buildings starting at 8 am on Friday. We showed up Friday at 8:30 am to find the parking area full of cars, and a group of 20+ people in the clubhouse. Immediately I started panicking thinking we got double booked. I called Grace twice and could not get a hold of her. She called me back a few minutes later and totally dismissed my concern, saying that was another group that should be out “soon” and it’s not a big deal (even though we had that space reserved). It wasn’t until close to 9:30 am that they left the site. To make it worse, as we were setting up decorations Friday morning, another staff member was giving a family a tour of the facility, walking them through the barn as we were getting it setup. These two situations felt very disrespectful to our reservation. Overall, it is a beautiful venue that has a lot of potential. We believe that the lack of organization and communication is the primary downfall of this venue.

There are so many accommodations and customizable options that made our day very unique and special to us. We really appreciate their attention to detail and how they cared for us as a couple throughout the entire wedding process. Transparency and honesty were values we could tell that they hold as a venue and we always felt very well communicated with. They took time to hear about our vision and really worked hard to bring it together with their entire events crew. We love Rivers so much and would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding venue!!!!!

Although they are busy owning and running a beautiful and versatile venue, they take the time to get to know each couple like they're a part of the family, making sure their venue will meet all their client's needs and wants! From boho chic to simple elegance, this venue can pull it off! With it's various properties on site, this venue can accommodate a small, intimate wedding or an all out bash! There's no other venue in KC that will give you the flexibility, accommodations and treatment that Rivers Lodge & Hunt Club has to offer. We are forever grateful to have them as a part of our wedding story!
