Riverside Landing and Greek Orthodox Social Hall

Riverside Landing (aka the Greek Orthodox Social Hall) was amazing!!! Everyone said the food was some of the best they ever had, it was decorated beautifully and the staff was SO helpful!! Couldn't beat the price either. A huge plus was that we saved a ton of money by providing our own alcohol. I would absolutely recommend this venue!!

This venue is amazing! There are already some decorations - soft lighting wrapped in tulle, I think. We didn't decorate much more than that actually. The venue doesn't have any booking fees itself, but they require you to have so many guests. I would definitely recommend it.

Good things: Location Food (many many complements) Hostesses (excellent, we had 20 kids of all ages and no reports that the hostess was mean to them) Venue (gorgeous, esp at night) Moderate flexibility with scheduling prices were great brought our own alcohol Needs improvement: communication from hall manager, specifically regarding numbers, rules, etc. I can completely relate to the review below (7/7/12) regarding the lack of preparation leading up to the wedding. Emails going back and forth were misconstrued and we ended up paying for 5 extra people accidentally. When we initially booked, we were told we could have the hall as late as we wanted for an additional fee per hour. When I tried to book it from 4-11p, I was told the decision would be made the night of the wedding (not by me) based on how intoxicated my guests were. I found it a little insulting. I was also told that everyone would probably leave by 9 and there was no point to have it go later (not the case). My last complaint was the caterer never contacted me until the night before the wedding for times of the cocktail hour, dinner, etc, then told me my schedule was all wrong and demanded I move up dinner. These were details that I wish were worked out prior to the week of the wedding when I was already under intense stress. I understand my personality causes me to prepare way earlier than other people, but these 'big' details should have been addressed before the week of the wedding. Oh and they parked a cop literally at the exit of the parking lot at the end of the night. Fortunately we hired a Trolley to take people to a local hotel and no one got a DUI, but I found that unnerving.

I couldn't of asked for a better place to hold our wedding! Everyone had a great time and the venue is just beautiful overlooking the river and the option to go outside on the deck is great! I highly recommend Riverside Landing.

I held my ceremony and reception at riverside landings in oakmont pa and it was amazing! They were very accommodating and very sweet! My wedding was a huge success and was the best night of my life :) I don't have anything bad to say

This was the only place I visited to book my wedding reception. The layout of the place is fantastic. The buffet line is separate from the main floor. The dance floor is center. The bar is surrounded by windows and a deck which overlooks the river. Guests did not have to leave the party to enjoy the outdoors i.e. smoke. The food was great - try the scottish mashed potatoes. BIG BONUS IS you get to bring your own liquor which saves $$$$$. They provide the beer on tap and you can choose anything domestic; upcharge per person for non-domestic. The Hall Manager Gus Lewis is easily accesible via phone, email, and going there in person. We used their house DJ Greg Erosenko (look up the name - yes it is the same person) and he was good, easy to work with. My only complaint was the bartenders were a little rude to my guests as I would not let them place a tip jar out. If I am providing an open bar to my guests, why would I make it seem like they needed to tip these two people?? Well my husband said their attitude changed AFTER they saw that their tip from us was $100 each, 2x more than what the Hall Manager stated they usually earn in a night there.

This was a beautiful place along the river.

riverside landing ended up being the perfect space for the amount of people we had. the guy who runs the place, however, can be a bit pushy. he deals with all the brides and whoever the brides are related to, so i can understand him being a bit stressed out, but he was a little pushy at times. the ladies that also help run the hall, are pushy. overall, the space was great and everyone loved the back deck facing the river the whole night.

The Riverside Landing was a great choice for our wedding reception. Having a summer wedding, it was so nice to have the balcony that looked out on the river. It allowed for great scenery. The food from Veltre's was amazing; all of our vendors (photographer, DJ) told us it was the best wedding food they ever had. The decorations provided in the package set the tone for a relaxing evening. We brought in our own centerpieces, but that was all we needed to bring. I had a stress-free night because everything was taken care of. The cookies were trayed for free, all the leftover food was packed up for us to take home, the cake was cut and served at no extra charge. We also had the option of purchasing an extra hour to keep the party going, which of course was necessary because the bartenders kept everyone happy and coming back. I can't say enough good stuff about this venue; I had a beautiful wedding. We were also allowed to come in the day before to decorate, so I had no worries on our special day!

The Riverside landing is really a lovely place for a wedding of about 150 guests. Having the balcony overlooking the river was a favorite among the guests as it gives them the opportunity to step outside for a bit and enjoy the atmosphere. It's not as pretty in the winter and fall months since the trees are dead, but we had a gorgeous day and beautiful pictures!

They have an excellent venue. The food was great but the service is very irrational.

We got married May 2010 at the Riverside Landing. We loved being right on the water with all the windows and the balcony. The prices were so much better than many many other places we checked out. Gus was nice to work with but we felt just like another couple paying and not necessarily valued. Also, what we discussed with him was not at all communicated to his hostesses the day of our wedding and my friends and family who went to set the stuff up ran into lots of problems. Other than that, the facilities were clean, everyone was very nice, and the price was excellent!

I loved how unique the reception venue. It was very private and a comfortable size for 150-175 people.
