ow her name) were both very pleasant and reasonable, but Angela acted as if she was annoyed and inconvenienced starting as soon as she received our deposit. She made the whole experience unenjoyable. It truly felt like as soon as she got our money then she couldn’t be bothered with us anymore. And, strangely enough, it was almost as if she went out of her way to make things inconvenient for us. For example, I had requested time for the day before the wedding for a rehearsal and even wrote it on my contract almost a year ago when we put down our deposit. Both Angela and I signed the contract after the rehearsal request was written on it. Well, evidently, she changed their rehearsal policy shortly after that. However, it was only when I contacted her about a month before the wedding, to confirm the rehearsal time, did she tell me that we couldn’t have the rehearsal after all. Then, when we met her about three weeks before the wedding to finalize the details, she seemed annoyed and bothered by our questions and requests. In addition, when it came time for me to pay the remainder of what was owed, I went ahead and mailed the check to the venue to Angela’s attention. I let Angela know that the check was in the mail and that she should receive it within a few days. She rudely informed me (for the first time!) that the venue does not accept mail at all. Nowhere was this written nor did she ever tell any of us this. She was once again evasive and unapologetic, offering no real help or solution other than to say I should cancel the check and just pay her with a credit card. I was not interested in paying by card because she charges clients the 3% fee if you pay by credit card. Well, on a $5k remaining balance, that adds up. I asked her if I could please overnight a new check to her home address or to another employee’s home. Again, all she responded was she didn’t accept checks via mail and we would have to hand deliver the check directly to her. We live 3 1/2 hours away and she knew it. (How do people who live out of town deal with her odd conditions?) I ended up having to overnight a check to my daughter who then had to drive 45 minutes there and back from her house north of Charlotte. It was ridiculous that Angela was so unaccommodating and rude about it to boot after we spent roughly $10,000 with her. The night of the wedding I just made a point to steer clear of her and deal with the other lady and her husband because they seemed relaxed and pleasant, unlike Angela who was high strung and irritated. I don’t understand why someone like her is even in this line of work. She clearly doesn’t enjoy it and is terribly lacking in good people skills. I did my best to shield my daughter and her fiancé from this woman so that she didn’t upset their day, but even they picked up on her bad behavior. After spending almost $10,000, I wish I had read some of the previous reviews before making a final decision to employ this venue. It is supposed to be an overwhelmingly happy occasion and, for that much money, the owners should go out of their way to make it as special and as seamlessly smooth as possible.

us appetizers-it all looked very elegant. Many guests told us the food tasted great and they really had a wonderful time at our daughter's wedding reception. Angela and her team were very knowledgeable and accommodating in planning and executing wedding receptions. We brought everything to Riverwood early in the week, and they did a beautiful job decorating for us, as we requested. Their team handled the clean up at the end and they even helped us load our vehicles after the reception ended. This was the second time we hired Angela and her team to host a wedding for our family - both receptions were wonderful!

ors had a question, they were the ones to take care of the issue. If something came up that required my judgment they were quick to let me know, and open to whatever suggestions I had. The staff were professional, kind, and attentive. There are some rules in place that seem a bit strict but ultimately just help maintain a pleasant day that doesn’t get too rowdy. If you are serving alcohol, I would try and remind your guests to expect basic drinks. The bartender was kind, but not versed in specialty drinks. The owner acts as the day of coordinator and she did a great job! The manager was also super helpful and did a lot of the behind the scenes. The layout of the venue is gorgeous, provides you with options in case the weather doesn’t hold out, and perfectly designed for holding a wedding. The dressing rooms and bathrooms were separated from the rest of the venue to allow for both parties to get ready without risk of crossing paths. We rented the venue for 8 hours and got ready in the dressing rooms starting at 2pm. Our ceremony was at 5:30pm and I feel as if the women had an adequate amount of time to get ready. We did not take pictures beforehand however, and I also got my makeup done earlier in the day. When we arrived at the venue, the owner and her staff already had the place set-up for our wedding. I am so grateful we booked with them and would recommend Riverwood Manor to anyone looking to get married in the area.

to make our dream a reality. We had several of our family and friends in attendance tell us how wonderful the staff was and how well the wedding was run. Their role behind the scenes allowed my husband and I to be fully present and soak up as much as we could of the best day of our lives. Beyond the event planning, their catering is INCREDIBLE. The tastings they hosted leading up to our date helped us to try a variety of options in order to choose our wedding meals with confidence. We received nothing put raving remarks for the food after the event!

e as ceremony location, all of which are beautiful! The lake on the property adds such a good touch to all your pictures. Angela and her team set up everything and was essentially my wedding planner. They did more than they ever needed to to ensure we had the perfect day! They take great pride in their venue and make sure it is immaculately kept at all times including the inside and the grounds around it. The location provides guests a short ride to any hotel, many air bnb options and plenty of local ubers for safe transport home, as well as a huge parking lot if guests are driving. How they enjoy most of our venders we chose came from the list that was provided by Angela, all of which we cannot speak highly enough of as well. All of the vendors on her list also love working with and at Riverwood manor. Angela coordinate with all of the vendors making sure everything is perfect for the day of and that everyone is on the same itinerary. They knew exactly what to do and how to help you plan for you to have the exact day that you want and the day off there is an entire team making sure that everything goes perfectly. She had amazing ideas that I would’ve never thought of to help me plan. They really know exactly what they are doing and are professionals about everything while still being like family to us during the entire process.

Their food is amazing, their wait and bar staff are polite, respectful and attentive. I have to rave on the fact that 5 minutes before our ceremony started it started down pouring. I knew there was 2 back up plans for my ceremony and I decided to let Angela and her team make the executive decision on whether to have the ceremony under the covered patio or inside. They made the right choice to have it inside and created a beautiful ceremony sight inside. on a rainy day! Angela is amazing at coordinating and her team effortlessly took care of everything! She loves her work and that is evident by the way she and her team take care of the bride, groom, and family on such a special day. We did not have to worry about anything and she was so willing to meet us whenever we needed leading up to the wedding to ensure she knew everything we wanted! She set everything up for us, decor and all, and tore everything down without having our families do anything! I could not be more pleased with the level of courtesy and generosity that Angela and her team radiated!

ience. We wanted a venue that was outdoors but also had a backup plan in event of bad weather. They have 2 different outdoor areas to choose from & a covered area for the cocktail hour or if needed for the ceremony. The staff was amazing with the decorations - I dropped them off, told them what we wanted & they took care of everything. When we arrived for the wedding & walked in the reception area - it was breathtaking. It was perfectly decorated & my daughter said it was just as she had pictured it. Angela & her staff are so helpful, they ask questions & get to know the bride & groom to make their special day PERFECT! The food was amazing - our guests are still talking about how good it was. I really don’t know what I would change in our planning - the day was everything that our daughter had dreamed of. Thank you Riverwood for making it PERFECT!

hings that are definitely needed in your big day. The accommodations Angela and her staff provide are over the top. I can honestly say she was there for us through every email, every phone call and every vendor that needed to speak with her about our event. I was well planned and organized ahead of schedule, but I asked the same questions more than 3 times (lol brides will understand this), and she expressed nothing but sincere understanding of my repeated questions. The venue itself is breathtaking, the pond view was amazing the inside of the manor was so spacious and had the elegance yet subtle feel I was going for (I didn't want anything too rustic). The lighting was absolutely gorgeous you could adjust it to set the tone for your night, huge plus for us as we were going for something more intimate for our guests (sounds weird but you'll see with the light lighting) we were able to get ready there, I didn't feel rushed at the end of the night she helped us pack everything up and the cleaning crew was great! Now to talk about the catering - my goodness!! We were blown away and received so many compliments on the food, the variety you are already provided from the menus are far enough (plus it's for any budget so it was very nice to work with) then she also provides you the option of vegetarian substitutes and gluten free, just inform her of any dietary restrictions, allergies etc. and they're so accommodating to you and your guests. I could go on, you have to see for yourself and take the time to meet with them. I love this venue and our guests talk about it all the time and say how the day was perfect!

I wanted it, and making sure everything was just perfect. The food was phenomenal! The carving station with prime rib - I’ll never forget how delicious it was!! Our wedding at Riverwood Manor was the best day of my life. I had no stress or worries, because the team was so amazing. If I could do it all over again - I wouldn’t change a thing!! Well, maybe I’d get another slice of prime rib ;-)

had to make a last minute switch in napkins they were on the phone with me at 9:00pm with A Linen Affair to help accommodate me. They took care of setting up the venue with all the items I wanted and did a great job! The brunch menu we selected was delicious and several of our guests went out of their way to tell us later how much they enjoyed the food! Overall, you can’t beat this quality for the price! Highly recommend!

repeat twice because I didn't get an answer. She wasn't there for the rehearsal, lack of information about the bar tender. I had to email her about the next tasting,if not we would have never went to one. The day of the wedding I try to keep my cool, thank God I hired a coordinator who knew what I wanted. The place itself is pretty. I wish I had a better experience.

ur wedding was the only wedding being held there. The hospality, professionalism, service and class is beyond what we could have imagined. All of guests raved about the delicious the food was and were impressed on how seamless the entire day went! Everything was picture perfect thanks to Jill,Angela and staff! We couldn’t have picked a better venue to host our wedding!
