Couldn't be happier with our experience and the photos from Robert Norman!! We were the first wedding to be canceled due to COVID (I mean 5 days before) and Robert was still willing to come take photos at our small ceremony. He was great at giving directions and going with the flow of the day. Then almost 2 years later.... we finally got to have our big reception! We had JC and Steve who were excellent! They both calmed our nerves and gave direct and simple instructions to us and our bridal party. They made everyone feel comfortable while taking all the pictures which can easily become stressful. They were also willing to work with my DJ to provide him with ~20 pics for a live edit video that was shown at our wedding. That was extra work they had to complete that night and we were so thankful they did that! And to top it off.... we got all our wedding pictures back 1 week later!!! And we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. I am so thankful we chose Robert Norman Photography! If you are looking for a wedding photographer, you won't regret reaching out to them!

I won’t do Robert justice in words, but honestly just stop your search and hire him. Robert has been in our lives since 2013 when we got engaged. He has seen us from our engagement session in blustery January in New Haven to a hot day under July sun on the beach for our most recent family pictures with our 2 year old and everything in between. Here’s the thing - you have a ton of options when it comes to everything these days, so it’s hard to choose and know who’s the real deal. But believe me when I tell you that Robert is the real deal. He is incredibly talented, creative, and honest. He is FUN, someone you want around you on days like your wedding (because little known fact: you may spend more time with your photographer than anyone else that day, possibly including your husband/wife) and he is someone who makes you feel comfortable kissing under a cool Yale University doorway while a million college kids walk by. Honestly, at the end of the day just look at his work, it speaks for itself, it doesn’t need any explanation.

JC Carley was an absolute pleasure to work with. She has the most down to earth personality and made sure to explain everything to us prior to the day and during the day so we understood any "photography" terminology and could have the best experience possible. She was extremely efficient and structured throughout the day to make sure we captured every moment possible. She kept such a calm demeanor that made us feel stress free and enjoy the pictures. I can't wait to see the finished product and I would recommend her to anybody looking for the photographic best experience!

Robert Norman is truly a wonderful down to earth and easy going photographer. He not only captured each aspect of our day, he did so in a way that put all at ease and had us laughing. His photos were so stunning that at times I could not believe it. He is quick to respond to emails and has great advice along the way. Even better, he somehow managed to edit and send us our entire gallery of photos about 10 days after our wedding! Thank you Robert.

We must have browsed hundreds of online portfolios before Robert's caught my eye. I'm an amateur photographer and I'm critical of everyone's photographs including my own. I was thrilled that Robert was available for our date and it was a pleasure to work with him. We we love the photos that he took of our wedding. I continue to have friends and family point out that they've seen our photos on wedding planning sites.

We are so happy we hired Robert! A little about our wedding - it was on the larger side (160), weather was touch and go, and we also decided not to do a first look. We wanted more candids than posed. He managed all of these things effortlessly and with a smile - we got everything we wanted! Robert was super fun and easy going, yet very professional - we received lots of compliments from guests!

After leaving Robert's house after our initial wedding consultation, I knew he would be the perfect fit for capturing not only our wedding, but our engagement session as well. Throughout the process, Robert was both professional and personable. His ability to get to know us as a couple and listen to our ideas put us at ease (including being patient with our two rambunctious puppies during our engagement shoot!). Robert and JC were able to capture not only the event itself, but also the feelings that went along with the day. When I look back at our photographs, I am in awe of his ability to capture each special moment. I can't thank Robert enough for providing me with these wonderful memories that I will always cherish.

I am, historically, over-critical of photographs of me and usually end up hiding them away because I don’t like how I look. After reading all the reviews for Robert Norman Photography, I knew I would be in good hands. From our first meeting, he listened to all of my wacky insecurities with patience and understanding. He talked us into a first look and I’m so glad he did. His expertise and professionalism is truly unmatched. Not only that, but I was completely blown away by Robert’s enthusiasm for our big day. He definitely knows how to make you feel special and not like “just another booking.” When heavy rain was forecasted for our wedding day, Robert assured me we would still get beautiful photos. Not only did he stand in the rain to get some AMAZING end of the night photos of my husband and me, but he graciously worked with us when our timeline became severely delayed, without complaint. It was a tough day with inclement weather, high emotions, and delays but Robert made it look easy and most importantly, like he was happy to be there! Our photos were ready the day we got home from our honeymoon and I almost cried when I saw the first one. It was better than I could have ever imagined and made our day look like an absolute fairytale.

After falling in love with our friend's wedding photographs we begged that she give us the name of her wedding photographer, because that is who we needed to photograph our wedding! This, of course was Robert Norman. Not only is Robert extremely talented and professional but he is a wonderful person and a pleasure to be around. With the help of his second photographer, Dave Noonan, he was able to capture every poignant moment we could have hoped. These guys managed an absolute mob of a wedding party/family like champs and ,again, had smiles on their faces the whole time. We couldn't have asked for better photographers!

Robert is a true artist. To be honest, after we got engaged, Robert was the first person we contacted to check his availability. We didn't select our wedding date until we knew for sure that Robert would be available. As one of 6 children in my family, 3 of my older siblings used Robert for their weddings. Each time we marvel at how he seems to continue to find new ways to take our breath away. His ability to capture the feeling of the day, and individual personalities is incredible. Not only is his work amazing, but his relaxed and humorous nature allows you to enjoy every moment of your special day. Even with the challenge of a very large bridal party, Robert navigated it with ease. He is so talented. We cannot thank him enough for capturing memories of our wedding day that we will cherish forever.

Robert is a true professional, and his work speaks for itself; we're just thrilled with the way he and JC captured our wedding day. But beyond his obvious talent and the beautiful pictures we have to remember our wedding, Robert is simply a pleasure to be around - and that matters on your wedding day! We spoke with a number of photographers in advance of selecting Robert, but only Robert combined a professionalism with an ease and personability we knew would make the day run smoothly. Despite a mother-of-the-bride who is, shall we say, *particular* and a bride and groom who hate being photographed, Robert made the entire day fun and easy, never awkward or uncomfortable. We hated the stiff posing we saw on so many wedding websites, but Robert really captured the day with a journalist's eye; our personalities and happiness shone through in every photo. We can't wait to have another reason to work with Robert, but for the time being we'd recommend him again and again!

Robert was recommended to us by friends who had used him previously, and we had seen the wonderful work he did for their engagement shoot and wedding. When we reached out to a few photographers for price comparisons, we were a little hesitant as his prices came out on the higher end of the quotes but once we spoke to him, our minds were made up. Our first time meeting Robert in person was when we had our engagement shoot – on a particularly windy May day at the vineyard where we got engaged. Within minutes, we knew that we had made the right decision in selecting him as our photographer. The extra cost was outweighed by his stunning photos, entertaining demeanor and artistic abilities. We are looking forward to working with him soon to put together our albums, so that we can treasure our wonderful photos for years to come!

Our photographer was JC Carley and she was amazing!!! We found her on our own online and met with her thinking we'd be hiring her as an independent contractor. We then learned that she works within the Robert Norman Photography company, which was fine with us, and we had a phenomenal experience overall. JC was probably the most responsive vendor we worked with. I cannot say enough positive things about her (and Dorian Patrick, our 2nd shooter). I had a minor breakdown on the wedding day due to downpours and my entire vision being "ruined." I think I said something along the lines of "I don't want to do this anymore, I want to go home, I don't want to see anyone, and I don't ever want to remember this day." (just a tad bit dramatic). My groom just looked at me with a blank face and had no idea what to say. JC immediately stepped in and validated my feelings, helping me to calm right down. Needless to say, we were both so incredibly glad to have here there!

We cannot say enough nice things about the great Robert Norman. From our first communications with him, he immediately was responsive and seemed excited to capture the most important day of our lives through his lens. Later on, when we spoke on the phone, he was such a pro, reassuring us and sharing a bit about the way he likes to work (for example, timing and timeliness is very important to him, and although of course he is super flexible and is there to work with you, he also wants you to understand the impact that timing has on your photos so you can better plan your timeline, also he loves a First Look and he’ll explain why). I even let him know in advance about a couple of preferences of mine (we all have our “things,” and I have a side in which I prefer to be photographed and also asked him to be mindful of my arms so they don’t look fat and he was very considerate and reassured me he would keep that in mind – and he sure did). The day of, he showed up bright and early as we were getting ready, and we immediately all felt at ease with his presence. He is warm, friendly, and has such good energy. He is never intrusive, he just does his thing, and believe me, on your wedding day, it is such a relief to have such a pro around. He and Ian, the assistant photographer he brought along for the day, were an absolute delight. If you are thinking of cutting costs on your photos, as we initially were, think again. There are cheaper photographers, sure, but when you see Robert’s photos, you will cry of happiness because he is simply magical at what he does. He has a fantastic eye and captures very special moments that you will cherish in a tangible way for the rest of your life. The posed official photos are fantastic – thank you Robert for getting me from my good “diva” side, I feel like a movie star!) but so are the ones of us, our family members, and our guests just being present, living in the moment, laughing, crying, dancing, embracing, and being surrounded by love. Robert and Ian captured it all and for that we are eternally thankful. There are no do-overs when it comes to wedding photos, so do yourself a favor and go with the best.

Robert Norman Photography was amazing! Robert and JC Carley shot our wedding together. They were so flexible with us and made sure to really understand our vision and what we were looking for prior to the actual day. Robert and JC made sure to get all of the pictures on the list we made of photos we wanted and much more. They took beautiful pictures and made everyone feel comfortable while they were taking the shots. They had creative ideas and took all of the classic pictures as well. They were so easy going and willing to work with us on any ideas that we had. Robert was also able to get our photos to us in a matter of days, and for that we are so thankful! We are so amazed by the quality of the pictures they took and have gotten SO many compliments on the pictures. The pictures were wonderful in both quantity and quality and captured the entire evening perfectly. We could not have asked for better photographers and will be looking at our pictures fondly for the rest of our lives!!

Not only is Robert a talented photographer, but he is a pleasure to be around. Booking him was very simple and throughout the lead-up to our wedding he was clear and efficient, asking what we wanted and guiding us through what was needed to get it. On the day, he was unfailingly polite and friendly to everyone he came across, and yet invisible most of the time. He really just let us, and all our guests, enjoy the day. Robert has an incredible talent for capturing a feeling in an image. Going through one of his albums, you never fail to get a sense of the atmosphere at each and every event. And that's exactly what we wanted - not a collection of snapshots of our nearest and dearest, but a record of the day as a whole, something we could look back on and remember how every step of the way felt. Robert delivered a beautiful set of images that capture our story, years from now we will be able to look back on our gorgeous wedding album and remember just how perfect that day was. We plan on using him again in the future and highly recommend him.

Robert Norman is talented, professional, and an overall joy to work with. He was a standout on a list of recommended photographers from my venue, and once I had seen his work and spoken with him, there was no question. There is no better photographer to entrust your big day with than Robert Norman. From start to finish, I was impressed (and I'm a trained photographer!). Another major upshot to working with Robert Norman is that he has an incredible workflow, and I didn't have to wait months and months for my photos like some of my other friends who have gotten married. I would recommend, if you can swing it in your budget, to spring for the second shooter. Fantastic team, phenomenal photographers. My only regret is not working with him for an engagement shoot!

We hired Robert after he was referred to us by a friend. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. Responsive and accommodating with everything before and after the wedding. He made many suggestions that we took and was not offended when we did things differently. The pictures he took were incredible. Both our formal wedding pictures and the action shots. Robert and his team use a consultative and helpful approach from the first meeting to the last interaction. It was all about what we wanted from beginning to end. And this being my oldest child and first wedding, I appreciated their help and guidance. I felt totally comfortable letting their experience lead the process. Robert and JC conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and their work is just fabulous. It's well worth the extra $$ for a second photographer as we have a priceless collection of shots, so many it's been hard to choose which ones to have made into prints. from our friends who've seen the pics - complement after complement on how beautiful they are. My wife and I worked with Robert for our January 2015 wedding in Connecticut. Robert was great to work with - flexible, responsive and most importantly the photos were beautiful!! We would strongly recommend Robert to anyone in Connecticut and beyond!

Robert Norman photography was AMAZING. The process leading up to the wedding was incredibly easy and low stress. The wedding day team was personable, professional, sweet and honestly after formal photos were complete, somewhat invisible. They somehow captured every moment of my wedding PERFECTLY but did it in a way that they didn’t interfere with the actual celebration at all. The pictures are insanely gorgeous- their samples speak for themselves- need I say more- I HIGHLY recommend.

The very first thing I noticed about this photographer... is awesome website! He has a great eye for photography, not only in capturing his subjects in perfect moments, but also taking the scenery around the subjects and using it artistically. Robert used the time post ceremony to shoot the formal pictures (super quick by the way, to allow time to enjoy the cocktail hour!). And for the remainder of the evening, he shot candid photos (exactly what i wanted). He was everywhere, but yet, you didn't even know he was there. Robert is very professional, and has a great personality. Everyone gave me complements on how much they liked the photographer (and that was before he even developed his pictures!). Just a few weeks after the wedding and he has provided us with an EXCELLENT slideshow and online page that captured a few moments from each moment of the night. It brought us all back to that very night. I highly recommend this photographer, not only for your wedding shots, but any major event in your life that you want to capture. Robert is the best wedding photographer, hands down. He is very personable and easy to work with (both during planning and day-of), and he captures the most amazing images. Wonderful detail shots, smiling (and not overly posed!) group shots, and the best candids. Everyone I've shown my wedding photos to has commented on how great the images are! We had Robert for the wedding and the engagement session, and the photos were artistic and stunning both times. He is a great mix of professionalism and artistry. He has a special talent for making people feel relaxed and at ease in front of the camera and gets all the great shots without being intrusive. We wanted photos we would be proud to put on our walls and we got them!

If you are looking for a photographer, look no further. His work is absolutely incredible. I had a wedding party of 22, and he did an AMAZING job with my husband and I, my wedding party, my guests, and capturing all the details. Funny story, the photographers I initially choose for my wedding ended up having to terminate our contract about a month before my wedding because it was a husband and wife team and they had some complications with their pregnancy. They recommended Robert Norman, luckily he happened to have my wedding Saturday free, and let me tell you, I couldn't be happier. Honestly, it was a true blessing that Robert Norman was my photographer because he was 100% the better fit for my wedding day. As I mentioned, I had a wedding party of 22, and a ROWDY group at that, he did a remarkable job of capturing incredible pictures, being creative, and still letting everyone have some fun. My formal photos with my husband came out STUNNING. He also posted his blog post promptly, and he actually showed me a few photos as we went (which was great, because as a bride there is nothing you want more after your wedding then your pictures!) I will also add that I had a large wedding, and I have gotten at least 100 comments on how gorgeous my pictures are. Like I said, it truly was a BLESSING that I was able to have Robert Norman as my photographer. I will also add my mother is a photographer, and was blown away by his pictures. I really can not say enough about Robert, he is warm, friendly, and immediately makes you feel comfortable with him - my wedding party loved him, my guests loved him, but most immportantly, he took absolutely INCREDIBLE pictures. Robert is an incredible photographer who truly captures those special moments you can look back on and remember for a life time! We wanted more than just a bunch of posed photos, but rather beautiful timeless candid shots of our wedding day and Robert delivered so much more. Robert ceased those precious moments and created a beautiful wedding slide show. We're very excited to work with him on a photo book, where we can work with him to design from beginning to end that vividly tells our wedding day story. My husband and I were recently married in Trumbull Connecticut in October 2010 and were very picky about only a few things. We wanted a very personal ceremony and we wanted an amazing photographer to capture the moments of the day without the cliche wedding photography trends and posed frozen-ness. In short, we wanted a very organic and candid view of the wedding day that really told the story. I can honestly say that as I sit here and look at my beautiful wedding pictures that I already have back, Robert was the perfect person for the job! Since we were out of state planning a wedding in CT, we relied heavily on google searches to get started with our vendor search. After locking down our amazing officiant, she highly recommended Robert after working with him at a recent wedding. I was extremely worried about finding the right photographer as all of the websites we were taken to didn't quite have what we were looking for. After looking at Robert's portfolio I knew we were onto something. Robert was quick to respond with pricing and info, and we quickly set up a phone call to talk more. We sent our deposit later that week! As a couple you need to decide what your priority is for your budgeting. For us it was our photos. We chose not to have a videographer as we felt that photos best exemplify the emotions, actions, and events that take place. With the right photographer you can get exactly what you want. We agreed that while we'd be paying a little more, we would be paying for what we wanted. And we definitely got it folks. Robert is incredibly fun and easy to work with. He will work with you to really figure out what works to get the best pictures...even if you are a blinker or can't smile. Trust me on that! He really gets you comfortable and used to the camera. And when it comes to the big day, Robert knows his way around a wedding! From helping with wardrobe problems, to knowing how to make a hotel room look like a grand palace in pictures, this man is magic with his lens and experience! He helped both parties getting ready and smoothed some nerves along the way. Robert was so accommodating to us when we found out Matt's mother could not be at the ceremony, sending us 15 or so pictures later that night to show her the very next morning. Our proofs and images came back within 3 weeks, which is lightening fast compared to some of my friends. And the amount of amazing shots with dreamy light and fall colors, not to mention the candids of people, well, I can only say that we are completely decided we made the best decision by hiring Robert. He has an amazing eye that sees things most humans miss, and captures moments in an unforgettable way. Plus, he is a SUPER fun guy! How can it get any better?? I would recommend Robert without hesitation (and have!) to anyone and know that you will be as happy as we are with our art worthy photos!
