We didn't have a strong idea for most of the music during our wedding evening. Based on artists and time period, he was able to create a playlist that has been endlessly complemented since! Our wedding trended older, so we tried to have a mix of 70s/80s hits along with some tried and true 50s love songs for slow dancing. This seemed to work great for our attendees and everyone found their way onto the dance floor! We also rented uplighting from him for our space and they were absolutely worth the money to create some depth in our photos. As MC, he was very confident and energetic. He did an excellent job directing traffic, organizing group dances, a newlywed game, and managing the overall agenda around our day. We had an amazing time, thanks (in no small part) to Jeff's professionalism and skill as a DJ. You will love working with him!

Our wedding demographic was 33% 50+, 30% 20-30, and the remaining 37% spread over the 30-50 age groups. Jeff kept our ENTIRE guest list happy, and on the dance floor all night!! Our wedding ceremony took place on the rooftop terrace at the Hotel Valley Ho, and Jeff provided the ceremony music. Our dinner and reception were downstairs in the beautiful Sands Room on-site at the hotel. Jeff's up-lighting in the Sands Room was perfect! My wife's color theme was Burgundy, Gold, and Navy Blue. Jeff up-lit the room in blue, and it was perfect for the space. I recommend utilizing Jeff's up-lighting at your reception! I want to mention the amazing monogram that Jeff created for us. We decided to pay a little extra to use a glass gobo design, which was much clearer and crisper than other choices. Jeff can walk you through all the options. The monogram was projected onto a large wall behind our sweetheart table, and it was a huge hit! Our wedding theme "The Best is Yet to Come" was accompanied by two doves enclosed in a heart. It was beautiful! Ask Jeff to see a photo of our monogram and I'm certain you'll want one of your own. Rock Around the Clock is a Knot Hall of Fame vendor for a reason. Jeff Marcus is a full-time professional entertainer. This is not a part-time gig for him, like so many other DJ's out there. That was huge for me. Anytime I called, he was available. I'll end the review by saying that I HIGHLY recommend Jeff Marcus and Rock Around the Clock.

To make his life a bit harder (wink, wink),we had a multicultural wedding featuring a playlist comprised of traditional music and our sample 70s, 80s, 90s and current Top 40 selections. There is a fine line between MC'ing and just plain ol' interrupting the festivities with too many announcements. DJ Jeff more than achieved that balance. He also has really good equipment that he maintains well including wireless lights, good PA systems for both the ceremony and reception, and he can get you a custom monogram for the dance floor. I never had any problem getting a hold of Jeff. He responds to texts quickly, takes phone calls, is very responsive and will take his time to ensure that you get what you need. When I was looking through his reviews on here, I noticed that he responds to all of his reviews. Jeff walked through the night with us, helping us decide on music choices for different big moments throughout the ceremony and reception, as well as helping to design a schedule for the night that fit with our wedding. He was also flexible, allowing us to make some last-minute changes to some of the activities we wanted to include in the reception. On the day of, he showed up right on time and quickly and discreetly set up his equipment, both outside for the ceremony and inside for the reception. The music for the ceremony was a perfect volume, and he provided a wireless microphone for our officiant. For the reception, Jeff stayed on top of the schedule we’d designed with him, helping to keep the night running smoothly. He played a great mix of music from a variety of genres and decades, making sure that guests of all ages were entertained and pulled onto the dance floor, and included some crowd-involving songs that got everyone on their feet and singing along. He took requests from guests and made a point to play many of my and my husband’s favorite songs. Jeff discreetly ran the show, from the bridal party entrance to the first dance, the speeches, cake-cutting, games and more. Yet he also made sure never to become too overbearing, having mastered the art of knowing when to jump in to get things going, and when to step back and let the party roll on. At the end of the night, the dance floor had never slowed down, and everyone we talked to after could only rave about how much fun they had and how they couldn’t remember the last time they had danced so much. Most importantly, they all said that the wedding perfectly reflected us as a couple, which was what we wanted all along. icult to compare apples to apples as most of the DJs offered something that other DJs on the list didn't. One might think that all DJs are alike (at least I did before interviewing several), but ultimately, I felt most comfortable with Jeff. I knew soon after talking to him that we would be in great hands with him as our DJ. One of my big concerns with a Sunday wedding was that people would leave early. So, I wanted to make sure we had a fab DJ that would keep the party going as long as we had the venue. But… Jeff wasn't the cheapest DJ I interviewed and the frugal side of me had a hard time putting that aside (I should also note that Jeff wasn't the most expensive either). Most of the DJs were willing to price match the lowest offer, but that was not the case with Jeff. While he did come down on his price a bit, he wasn't able to come down as far as the lowest offer. After I narrowed it down between Jeff and one other DJ, I asked my venue coordinator who she would recommend between the two (I didn't mention anything about cost). With a bit of hesitation (she can't not recommend the others since they are on their preferred list) she said something to the effect of "every bride and groom are different….". Then I asked her, "if this was your wedding, which of the two would you go with?" Without hesitation this time, she said Jeff. This sealed the deal for me, and I booked Jeff. And in the end, I'm glad I did. He was so detailed and on top of everything, taking off any pressure on me the day of the wedding. And, while we weren't going to keep everyone at the party until 9:30 on a Sunday, Jeff did manage to keep the out of town guests who had no obligations in the morning dancing until closing time. Jeff was worth every penny and I highly recommend him for your wedding.

You hear 1,000 times while you are planning your wedding that it goes by so quickly, it’s all about you, and you need to make sure you enjoy it. But let’s face it, you are essentially planning a big party for hundreds of your closest friends and family. It’s nearly impossible not to worry about the little things. Luckily, our family had a history of working with Jeff, so we were well aware of his talents. We got SO many compliments about Jeff. We had a New Years Eve wedding and so our reception was longer than typical. There was never a point where the dance floor was not packed. Jeff has this incredible ability to get EVERYONE dancing. He has been in the business for so long, he knows all the tricks to making the day run smoothly, and has some great surprises up his sleeve. He helps you plan every detail and really takes the time to get to know each and every couple he works with. I promise booking him will be the best decision you make about your big day! He is professional and it is clear he takes pride in his work and truly enjoys what he does. Not only did he put on an amazing show for us, but as we were boarding the plane for our honeymoon, we got a text message from Jeff wishing us a happy honeymoon. He also attached about 12 wedding videos that he took throughout the night. It was such a nice touch. I had a lot of really great vendors, but Jeff was above and beyond the best.

He was on top of everything the night of the wedding even making sure that all the other vendors were in sync with him and our timeline! We were a little behind schedule for the reception, due to us wanting to take a few more pictures with each other, but Jeff effortlessly got us back on track. ls he gave us were incredibly helpful and when we got together to do all of the planning, he spent a great deal of time making sure that everything was the way we wanted it to be. On our wedding day, Jeff showed never ending enthusiasm and worked with my facility person, photographer and caterer to makes sure everything went as planned. And it all did. Our ceremony was perfect. Everyone could hear our minister and the music selection for our entrances were done just right. He played a great selection of music that had all ages that we invited dancing the entire night. He even got people up who never danced at other weddings we've been to in the past. All of our family and friends raved about our DJ and said it was the best wedding ever!! Jeff, you were a big part of making our wedding unbelievably fun for everyone---especially us! planning tools were perfect to help fill in things that we did not even think about before hand. He was flexible in meeting with us, able to meet via Skype or the phone when needed. He had so many great ideas for song choices and activities to keep everyone engaged. The music and sound for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were perfect. He was high energy, engaged and responsive to how our guests were feeling that night. We received many compliments from guests about what a great job he did. My dad could not stop talking about how impressed he was. He also provided the uplighting for our venue and it was just the perfect touch to create the look we wanted. He took pictures and videos of special moments throughout the night and sent them to us right after the reception. This were the first pictures and videos I saw of the event and it was so nice of him to share. You cannot go wrong with choosing Jeff and Rock Around The Clock for your wedding! he reception hall, even though he assured me on two occasions previously that he had done gigs at our same venue 3. Blasted music halfway into our ceremony because he set up his table in the church where he couldn't see us at the altar and misread the ceremony timing 4. Did not allow us, as previously discussed and agreed upon, to do a champagne toast. Instead of waiting for my Maid of Honor to tell him they were finished pouring champagne for the guests, he announced the cake cutting immediately after the Best Man's toast, before any prosecco had been opened for the guests. Further, he asked everyone to get up from their seats and come to the cake table. This led to people leaving as they thought the reception was over, and also $300 in unopened, unused prosecco 5. When it was obvious we were going to go over the contracted 4 hour time period (read those contracts, folks) he began asking my entire wedding party, one at a time, for payment. My flower arranger finally gave him a credit card so he would stop asking everyone More things happened, but this is the gist. I have no idea how this vendor has so many positive reviews when this was my experience. At the wedding he made everything flow seamlessly. He was there to address any questions we had and also kept us informed about the timeline and upcoming events, i.e cake cutting. We never felt that we had to do anything in regards to his set up and that was all taken care of behind the scenes and not a worry at all. All of our guest said that he did a great job with the music and he kept the flow working well. He listen to our music requests and fulfilled all that we had asked of him. Would highly recommend Jeff for anyone's wedding and I believe you would not be disappointed at all.
