Rock N Robin

I can’t say enough good things about Robin and his DJ skills. We asked multiple DJs for quotes when we started our search and Robin replied back very quickly with a reasonable price and we were sold right away. We met with Robin twice to go over our song selections and also the timeline of our wedding. We couldn’t have planned that out without Robin and he offered great advice and suggestions. The day of he was there early to begin setting up, played all of the songs that we requested (we had a very specific list of rock songs), and also helped us coordinate throughout the night. One of our favorite parts was the Shoe Game which Robin emceed and it turned out great. Thank you Robin! We couldn’t be happier!

Robin was EXCELLENT! He was always easy to contact and gave us the very best reception. I gave him a list of songs beforehand and he did an incredible job playing all of them. All of my guests loved him!

Robin did such a great job. Many guests commented on how he did such a good MC job. He has been doing this for many years so you don't have to worry about any detail - he's on it! Played the right mix of songs for our crowd.

Robin brings the party!!! He is the best DJ I've ever known. I gave him a list of "don't play" and picked out the basics (procession, first dance, etc) and let him do his magic for the rest of the night. I never once heard a song I didn't like, he kept the party going and us and our guests all had a blast. It went by way too quick, I wish we could do it again!! haha Thanks Robin!

Wow! Robin is seriously amazing! I think picking a wedding DJ was one of the hardest decision because all you have to go off of is 1. Venue Recommendations 2. Online Review 3. Referrals. I went with our venues recommendation and picked Rock N Robin. After I signed the contract we met a few months later and I was astonished at his knowledge on the flow of the wedding and the do's and don'ts. He played the perfect blend of new and old music, pump up songs and slow dances. One thing that I loved that he did was release tables for the buffet by going up to the individual tables instead of over the loud speaker (Bing-o anyone?). I noticed that during our meal and mentioned that to my husband on how great that was. All in all, Robin Rocked. He really listened to our song choices and stayed away from the silly songs that can be played at weddings. He really kept the wedding flow going strong. A huge thank you to Robin. Robin was the absolute best!! When we first got to the reception he had a plate made for us and a table in the back for us to eat. After we ate he got the party started! I don't think I left the dance floor. I would recommend him to anyone! He is AMAZING and will make sure your day is the best.

Throughout the entire wedding planning process (from when we first met Robin to the day before the wedding), Robin was professional, responsive, very nice, and gave expert advice and suggestions for our wedding reception. (He had song suggestions, order of events recommendations, etc.) On the day of the wedding, Robin was organized, on-time (and came early to set up), presentable, flexible (we had a large variation in age groups at our wedding and needed different song genres depending on the people on the dance floor), and acted almost like a day-of wedding coordinator and really stuck to the schedule that we agreed upon before the wedding day. I saved money on wedding coordinator expenses! I recommend Robin to anyone who is overwhelmed with the whole wedding process because he really takes good care of you and your future spouse!

Robin was AMAZING! He is great to work with. We were getting married in Houston, but lived in another city. He went above and beyond to meet with us whenever we were in town regardless of how busy he may of been! That meant so much to us. Our wedding day music was perfect. He played everything we wanted and he kept our guests on the dance floor! What we loved is he really appealed to all age levels (we had the majority of guests in their 20/30s and the rest older) and he was able to get everyone on the dance floor at some point!! Great DJ and great service!!

We were very happy with the DJ services provided by Rock N Robin's Robin Jansen. He was very professional and easy to work with. He definitely kept the reception hopping and flowing along. I would highly recommend him for your wedding!

We hired Robin (Rock n Robin) to work my daughter's wedding reception on April 23, 2016. He did a fantastic job and everyone enjoyed his work. It was easy to work with him. He made some good suggestions on how the reception should flow. I gave him a simple timeline and he followed it. It's really not necessary to give him a minute by minute layout. You can just give him a list of things you want said/done and he'll handle the rest. I made a movie of the bride and groom and Robin used his laptop and projector to show the movie. This helped me because I didn't have to tote around a laptop. He played all the music my daughter and fiancé wanted and he was right on cue. We were worried a bit there would be issues getting people to dance. Robin was able to get a LOT of people up on the dance floor and they all had a good time. He added some sound effects just before speeches and toasts that made people laugh. It was truly funny. I read some reviews where Robin is slow responding to emails. This is true. However, when the date was getting closer he responded more quickly and we never had an issue. He showed up to meetings on time and was set up and ready to go at the reception. I really can't say a negative thing about Robin and I usually find something critical when I post a review. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Rock n Robin again. Might be sooner than I want if my other daughter decides to get married.

We used Rock N Robin for our wedding and were able to work with Robin directly. He was amazing to work with and really helped me figure out what needed to be done as far as music and timeline during the reception. We met with him and he gave us a lot of guidance as far as good ideas and what what to avoid which was really helpful since I had no idea what I was doing. He gave me a list of what songs I needed to pick (which was really awesome) and his website has a lot of good suggestions that helped as well. Robin was great to work with, he was very easy to talk to, attentive and willing to listen to what we wanted. He was also willing to travel which was a huge plus since we were living in Houston and having the wedding in Austin. Our venue was also rather large so he had to set up in three different locations but he was very discreet with the equipment and I believe he moved a few of the speakers from the ceremony site to the reception hall to help with cost. The reception was great!! Robin did an awesome job at keeping everything flowing (dinner, cake cutting etc) and kept everyone dancing. It was a perfect balance of music for everyone to enjoy. My only complaint (and this is minor) is that he didn't play any songs by an artist that I suggested. That being said I didn't even notice until the next day. Thank you so much for all of your hard work Robin!! Our wedding would not have been the same without you!

Robin was the DJ for my wedding. When we first met with him and started talking about the details for the wedding we really didn't even know what we were getting into or what we even needed to decide. He was great at walking us through all of that, very friendly and helpful in ways you wouldn't even think of your DJ to go to. On the day of the wedding everything was exactly what we expected, all of the music was great, and once the dancing started the dance floor was always full. We had some delays during the wedding and he was great about going with it. Great to work with.

We hired Rock N Robin as our DJ because my now husband had worked wedding receptions in the past with one of the DJ's, Brian. We met with the owner, Robin, to go through a timeline of the reception and what music we would want played. Robin was very nice and I have no doubt he is also an exceptional DJ. I had only met Brian one time before the wedding and couldn't be more happy with him being our DJ. He played the music we had pre-selected and also did a great job being an MC. He kept the party on the dance floor going for hours and everyone had a great time. He also dressed very professionally (tux) and fit in perfectly with our reception. I highly recommend this company and Brian as your DJ!

Robin is awesome! He walks you through every step of the wedding and what songs you would like to have played. That was nice because I didn't know what I was doing. His website has suggestions of songs to play at certain points as well. We just got a basic package for four hours and paid $500. I think it is very reasonable compared to other DJs I found.

Robin was great to work with, and the dj he chose to work our wedding was a great fit. I literally sent song choices the week (and night) before our wedding and every single song was played at the right time. The dj came and checked on us during dinner, and he was great at keeping people on the dance floor. My husband and I thought our wedding was perfect - and the dj has a huge part to play in making it that way! I would book with Rock N Robin again.

Robin and his company were just awesome! I had to plan my Houston wedding from New York City and Robin was incredibly helpful and responsive. We had a few phone calls and emails before the wedding to get everything sorted out. He gave us some great advice (that we did our best to follow, lol) and really made us feel like we had a handle on what to expect that day. Our actual DJ was Brian and he did a great job. He made sure the wedding flowed smoothly and that there were no issues. Overall, the entire company did an amazing job and we would recommend them to everyone!

Rock N Robin was such a pleasure to work with and helped make my experience exactly what I dreamed of. Throughout the planning, not only was he very easy to communicate with but he was prompt and eager to answer any and all of my questions. I have had several of my guests say what a great job the DJ did and it was clear by the packed dance floor that everybody was enjoying themselves!

Robin was great! The music selection process was extremely easy and he has a huge database of songs. He made sure that only music we wanted was played at the reception. He played a range of music too so all of our guests were dancing the whole night. It was perfect!

During the planning and meeting process, Robin was very professional so I was confident that everything will go well at our wedding. But, when my husband and I were introduced as we entered the reception in front of all our guests, he said the WRONG LAST NAME!! He didn't just mispronounce the name, he said the wrong name. And not only once but TWICE!! We pulled over the coordinator to the side to go remind him our last name, so he never said our name again throughout the reception. He also announced that dinner will be served when we had lunch reception. Obviously, he had the script from previous wedding, and he didn't bother to change the couple's name or time of the day.

Robin was just okay. We met once before our wedding in person, which was great. He asked us several questions we hadn't thought of, and we sorted out most of the details. I sent him a detailed song choice list before our wedding with certain songs to leave to and play. When he played the Aggie War Hymn, which we mentioned was special, he just sort of started it randomly without telling all of the Aggies to gather up. He also played the song I asked him to play when we were leaving to the limo near the end of the wedding and said we were having a last dance, which made no sense with the feel and organization of our wedding. Then he randomly picked Mickey Mouse Club for us to leave to, which is a song I hate and did not ask him to play. In his original email he also mentioned how much he thought we should tip the DJs, which I thought was tacky. He was alright, but I don't think I would use him again. Considering he only had to play for about 2 hours at our wedding, I assumed everything would be perfect.

Robin did such a great job at our wedding! Everyone loved the music and had a great time! He also did part of our ceremony music and it was perfect!

The DJ was the last thing on my list, my husband was supposed to take care of it but he got busy. So I really didn't have much time to look around and get someone booked. They didn't play the right kind of music to get people out on the dance floor, but it could have been the crowd! I think DJ's are probably one of the hardest vendors to book.

Robin really listened to what music I wanted and played exactly what I asked. His flow was very smooth. I would definately hire him again

We worked personally with Robin, and he was so nice and funny. I know he'll do a great job at our wedding! He has amazing amount of patience and is easy going, making him easy to work with and allowed me to relax.

We had Robin as our DJ for our recent wedding and everything was great! He was on time, looked great and kept everyone on the dance floor. He was great as master of ceremonies, and even made sure to look after us, ensuring that we were eating. :) He played all the music I requested and none of the music I asked him not to. Robin had a great vibe going on out on that dance floor and we loved it!

The DJ really helped keep the flow of everything at the reception as well as played all the songs we wanted to be played. THey also don't play songs that you don't want to be played which is really nice.

Robert Janson was amazing. When my husand and I met with him, we told him we wanted a laid back, relaxed vibe. We wanted no top 40s, but classic (not dated) music. Robert delivered. He gave us an incredible playlist. Not only that, but several guests asked him if they could buy a CD of our music. He was visible, but not in the way and he did minimal emcee stuff (which was exactly what we wanted). I would recommend him to anyone for ANY event that needs music. He even gave us a price break because our wedding was on a Sunday.

My DJ from Rock N Robin did a great job. I did not provide a playlist and instead had my friends request songs and he had everything they requested and then some.

We had Robin, the owner, as our DJ. Naturally, he charged a premium, but it was well worth it. He was so much fun to work with, gave us some great ideas, and kept our guests on the dance floor all night! Highly recommended!!!

Rockin Robin was our actual DJ. He was GREAT! Very entertaining and seemed to know exactly how the crowd wanted to flow with the music.... he was very nice to deal with before the actual wedding in planning the music based on the bride and groom's preferences and guests attending - and he followed thru with making sure all particular music requested was played at the reception - great choice! We were totally pleased!
