We focus equally on the Left Brain side of planning (think: sexy spreadsheets and timelines) as we do on the Right side of design (think: lighting and linens).
Inspired by our client's unique personalities and ideas, we act as the architect, interior designer, and general contractor for every event we produce - each always different from the last.

The design Gretchen meticulously put together was unimaginably gorgeous and so perfectly captured the aesthetic we both dreamt of for a winter wedding. We wanted to lean into our love of the season without dragging out anything reminiscent of the holiday season. Gretchen did miss a single detail along the way, everything was thought of, communicated, planned-for, handled, and executed perfectly.
Gretchen brought with her so much knowledge of the wedding landscape in the Twin Cities and expertly guided us through every decision, from venue to caterer down to glassware and flatware. We had specific desires, especially regarding arguably minute details. We ended up with exactly what we wanted, every single time.
Beyond all of that amazing work, having Gretchen there on the day of our wedding was priceless. Everything was exactly where it needed to be, exactly when it needed to be there. It was important to us that our wedding be well-executed and that our guests be wowed by the event. It's been over three months and it's still the first thing everyone brings up when we talk.
I wish it was possible to communicate how thrilled we are that we chose to work with Gretchen and the Rocket Science team. They are truly one of the biggest reasons our wedding was the single best day we've ever had.

The flowers and centerpieces at our wedding were out this world and commented on by nearly everyone who attended the wedding. That being said, Rocket Science Wedding & Events will work with you on your budget and really go out of their way to stretch your dollars. Finally, I cannot speak more highly of our wedding coordinator Shorey Tuetken. Shorey did a great job of keeping everyone on task and sticking to the agreed upon timeline. All I had to do was sit back and relax as she worked through all of the details and kept everyone on track. I am a bit of a control freak, so that says a lot! Overall, you can't go wrong with Rocket Science Weddings & Events and you will be so happy that they are a part of your wedding day.

First, Gretchen listened and helped us clarify our priorities, then referred us to trusted and equally cool and talented vendors. Every pick was perfect: the gorgeous flowers by Pearls and Lace, the amazing photos by Becca Dilley, the sassy and artistic makeup artist Wendy Zarate, the very fun and insightful DJ Jason Hanson, the kind and eloquent officiant Susan Lee-Wright. Gretchen's help and guidance gave me the space to make silly embossed heart-cupcake flags with friends, spend non-frantic time with my fiancee, think about music and vows - and most importantly, be present on my wedding day to experience the miracle of finding my love and the fun of celebrating our marriage with our closest family and friends. She respected that we came to the table with our own ideas and design concepts, and she worked to enhance and complement them rather than asserting some other agenda. The ideaboard she created really got us excited about the possibilities for our event design, and it was so fun to creatively play off her ideas. She thinks outside the box while respecting our wishes and traditions. She has all the characteristics of a great coordinator: Artistry, patience, flexibility, assertiveness, tact, resourcefulness, good humor, and showed these qualities throughout our planning process. We hired her for day-of services, but she was with us every step of the way during our planning, which was essential to the success of our wedding day.
Our day went very smoothly with very few wrinkles that we were ever aware of. I appreciated their on-the-fly creative problem solving. For example, it was too hot of a day to light the fireplace in our reception hall. Instead, they placed our illuminated glassware on the hearth for a decorative twist. She and her assistant Laura worked hard behind the scenes without ever trying to take credit for their own hard work - they just tried to make sure we looked and felt good all day!

The details that Gretchen helped coordinate, couches for the cocktail hour, Sweet Martha’s cookies butler passed in Sweet Martha’s cookie containers, using a DJ and a band, floral decoration on the patio, an amenities basket in the bathroom, etc. all ended up being what our guests remembered and loved about our wedding. Her recommendations for other vendors were spot on and they all commented to us how much they loved working with Gretchen, too. Gretchen’s dedication to our wedding and making us feel like we were her only clients resulted in such a beautiful wedding for not only us, but our guests, too. While it may sound too good to be true, let me add that we were not an easy couple to work with. 1. We live thousands of miles away from the wedding venue; 2. I am vegan; and 3. We had a budget - a REAL budget. Despite these challenges, Gretchen worked with us to design a celebration that matched our vision for a fun and super delicious wedding weekend.

azing from the greens to the way the flowers were wrapped. They also took care of our centerpieces which were also beautiful. The only thing I would recommend is checking the centerpieces before the florist or company doing them leaves because the votives we had that weren't set out would have added a nice brightness and the vases for the flowers weren't on the head table. Two things that could have easily been taken care of had we just checked beforehand. Otherwise everything was perfect!!!
