Our guests could not say enough positive things about our beautiful, unique venue or the delicious food. Suzy’s husband does all the bbq which tasted homemade and had a lot of flavor. We included the photobooth and their in-house DJ and absolutely loved them! Seriously so awesome that i sat with Suzy for an hour and had covered all bases! DJ, food, linens, ceremony, reception, photobooth, and awesome decorations. So quick and easy... wedding planned!

I cannot tell you how many people came up to us during the reception and told us it was one of the most unique and beautiful venues they have ever been to. From the day we first met Suzy to our wedding day, she and Randy were so kind and helpful, and she took care of so many things on our to do list: catering, DJ, Photobooth, linens, dinnerware, and many other things. Even thought it was a very rainy day and it was still absolutely perfect regardless. Get married there - it was awesome!

Her years of experience definitely helped a bride with a brain overloaded with details. Randy does an excellent job with the food and the barn recent renovations. I worked with Minister Adrian who I don't believe is performing the ceremonies any longer, but he had amazing energy and was passionate about performing the services. It was a perfect day all together and I'm very thankful I chose them for our special day!!

ntastic and everyone raved over the desert selection. We had the photo booth and the popcorn bar which were all an absolute delight. Adrian, the officiant, was great to work with and was also entertaining, which was very important we didn't have a boring wedding like most are. Suzy was great to work with from day one, and anything I needed or had questions about, she got back with me right away. She and the staff were all wonderful to work with through the entire planning process. I highly recommend this venue for weddings, the atmosphere, staff, vendors, and the food are wonderful. we just got our wedding video back last week, so we had a chance to review and look back on that day. The only thing that went wrong was we lost the boutonnières...the only thing I would do if I could redo it is to relive it because I feel like I missed out on so much. It goes by so quickly. Suzy and her staff really did help make our day special and made sure my dream day was a dream come true. I cannot express how beautiful and wonderful our wedding was at the Ranch. I recommend this venue for events and express how wonderful everyone is, not to mention how beautiful it is there!!

Our dinner was so good they cooked it all themselves outside of the barn. I highly recommend the cupcake tower , it was beautiful. Suzy gave my wedding party and I her personal house to get ready in and made us feel very comfortble. I would recommend this venue to anyone in the Missouri area it is definitely worth the drive ♡

She really does want you to have your dream wedding - but sometimes she can be unorganized. Although I do know she has hired a wedding coordinator to help her.

The ceremony was outside and truly just an amazing memory. The food was so tasty and had so much flavor and color. Not your typical buffet food and the fact they BBQ right outside the barn makes this venue unique. When we were looking for the place to make our forever together this without a doubt was our vision. Whimsical They made this day so special and so free spirited! No worries no stress Just love It was a moment that turned into a memory!

250+ people and enjoying my wedding day seemed a little much. I started to look online and came across a few different venues I liked but knew the second I drove up to Rocking J, that it was my venue, from the rustic barn to the horses all around the property, it was PERFECT. Suzy and her team were very attentive and accommodating with my needs, such as riding a horse down the aisle with my dad and having a mechanical bull and making sure to work with my schedule when it came to meeting and planning everything! The food was delicious and the Barn looked spectacular. I really enjoyed being able to get ready in her lovely home with the rest of my bridal party and felt so comfortable during the process. In between photos which started at 2 and the wedding which started at 5 she let my entire wedding party (25+ people) into her home and let us eat and relax before the wedding. In addition, my mom really wanted some type of appetizer right after the wedding/ during cocktail hour and Suzy went above and beyond with and amazing cheese and fruit spread that not only look amazing but also tasted delicious. Lastly, I don’t know if Suzy knows the word No (hahah) because any idea I had or wanted to do Suzy and her team had no problem coming up with a solution/ product, even a Hostess & Candy grooms cake. Overall, my wedding day was perfect and the day of my dreams and that was in large part to Suzy and her amazing team at Rocking J!

They have so many fun options for extras. The food was delicious! I would suggest for time for pictures on the property as well. I had the all-inclusive package, which was really nice to have the ceremony site, minister, cake, dj, wood slices, linens, table and chairs included. (Although some of the chairs seemed a little worn and rickety/wished my budget would have allowed for renting out nicer chairs- would recommend it you can). For the price it is a fantastic deal! I looked long and hard at a bunch of other places and this was by far the best bang for my buck, especially when considering how close it is to St. Louis compared to the other barns which are usually an hr plus outside of the city and then its hard to find hotels near the venue, & you get to bring in your own alcohol (that alone saved us $$$$- but we also did an open bar which is usually very expensive at other places). I will mention the same things as all the other reviews- my only problem with the place was Suzy. The entire time up until the day before she was easy to work with, so nice, felt like she could be family- she really seemed to care about making my wedding the best day ever for me and wanted it to be stress free for me. The day before the wedding we came to decorate the tables, I was informed that tables/chairs would be out and we could place any decorations up we wanted so that everything would be ready for the wedding the next day. This was not the case. When I arrived with my family she had a horse event going on with kids. (which i understand she owns a second business besides hosting weddings.) But the tables/chairs werent out or cleaned, she had ordered the wrong linens and was trying to force me into using the ones she had ordered instead of the ones written in the contract (which i had to pull out and show that she was incorrect to get the linens I had wanted). It was extremely disorganized and since we were unable to set up that day I had to scramble to find family members that could come the day of the wedding to set up all our tables. The day of the wedding, everything was great! The place looked fabulous and I had a fantastic time. I will state that it was frustrating when I asked for everyone to contact my parents for anything the day of the wedding and I had Suzy come up to me a couple of times during the reception. Randy was superb through out everything!!! Overall, I married my best friend and that's all that mattered at the end of the day. I would only suggest if you are considering this venue be very organized and detailed, have everything written out in your contract and have it on hand at all times. I still loved the venue and wouldn't have changed having my wedding there for it was exactly what we wanted.

which left the majority of the wedding planning & decisions in my hands. From the moment I saw Rocking J, I knew it was the perfect venue for the event. The all-inclusive package worked perfectly for us. It was extremely helpful that the DJ, Officiant, cater & dessert were already included. Tables, chairs, linens & wood center piece blocks were already included. The barn has lights on the poles & ceiling for your use along with lots of other unique décor that is sure to compliment any barn wedding. I am very organized so I found Suzy easy to work with. She and her husband, Randy, were very sweet and seemed like family by the time we left(in a good way!). I always had a copy of my contract in front of me any time we met, but we never had any disagreements over it. They do host a LOT of weddings at this venue, so my recommendation is to take ownership of your event and I'm sure you will have the wonderful experience we did. The price is very reasonable for everything it has to offer and we could not find anything that even came close in this price range in the St. Louis area. The food was excellent. Our guests are still talking about what a special day it was and how awesome the venue complimented the style of my daughter's wedding. I found the DJ, bartender & photo booth very easy to work with and they did a nice job. The only thing we found disappointing is that we ran out of dessert. Our all-inclusive package covered up to 150 people and we only had 110 attend. I'm sure they prepare the food & dessert for RSVP number (so likely 110) but I was surprised we ran out. They did have 4 different desserts that all looked WONDERFUL. I suspect many guests took a piece of pie and a piece of cake and that may have been the cause for the shortage. Those that had dessert are still talking about how delicious it was so I'm still rating the venue with 5 stars because I feel that they enabled me to provide my daughter with her "dream" wedding at a cost that stayed in our budget. One last thing - rent the truck if you really want the rustic, country wedding experience. Our guests are still raving about the truck driving the bride and bridesmaid's down from the house with the horses in the field in the background. BEAUTIFUL!

I don't know if that was normal for events but he was not pleased since he payed for a majority of our wedding. At least they could have asked first. It did upset me a little for all the money we put into the wedding to have their employees be drinking the alcohol that we played for. Otherwise it was a beautiful venue and everything went according to plan. Suzy and Randy are always there at your beck and call for anything you need to make your special day turn out just the way you anticipated! I would recommend having a little more time for pictures. I feel like I didn't get the full amount that I wanted. The dj and photo booth we're amazing. We had some concerns about doing the open photo booth but it was amazing. It turned out great being able to fit more people in each photo. The bathrooms were nice. The food was yummy. The bonfire was warm. The horses were friendly. The music was bouncing. It was amazing. I would say don't do guest cameras that are disposable on the tables. Crappy development because of the darker light setting in the barn. Also we used photographer Darin Hart from dearhart photography who was amazing! And we used videographer Robert krebsbach. Both were amazing to work with and products were superior!

back venue where we could have a wedding and a big party. I was excited to find a venue that fit my mason jar/burlap/rustic/country/DIY ideas. My guests were excited to wear jeans and boots to celebrate with us. We planned this wedding all the way from Arizona, so we found the all-inclusive package to be very helpful. We had our rehearsal dinner here as well (catered in from Pegg’s). Suzy, Randy, and the whole Rocking J staff are amazing! We were welcomed into their home and lives to celebrate our big day. My bridesmaids and I got ready in Suzy and Randy’s home and were welcomed to feel as if we were in our own home. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. My family was raving all night about how great Rocking J is and “How did you find this place?” I thanked the Rocking J bartenders at the end of the night and was surprised to get a thank you in return, for being gracious and fun guests. The food was amazing and their DJ is great. Missie and Al, with Mid-West Music are very fun. Rocking J can also connect you with an officiant, which is super helpful when planning long-distance. I am excited to get our pictures back. Rocking J is located in a beautiful green valley with tons of great opportunities for your photographer. We loved that the venue is minutes away from several hotels and had plenty of room for parking. Rocking J Ranch is making improvements constantly. The new restrooms, dance floor, and barn doors are gorgeous! If you are looking for a beautiful, relaxed, rustic, and lovely wedding venue with the feel of home, you need to check out Rocking J Ranch. From the first time going out to look at the place and meeting Suzi and Randy -- to the very end of all of the planning and celebration, nothing could have gone any smoother than it did. We were able to pick and choose from a list of options to make it exactly how we pictured it. You can get the whole package here... VERY convenient that the ceremony and reception were at the same place! Not to mention we dealt with payment to ONE place!! The D.J., food/beverages, Pastor, decorations, & MUCH MORE can all be included in your contract with Rocking J (very reasonable with excellent quality services). This place is truly a paradise. One of my favorite events of the evening was getting married in front of the beautiful big pond full of wild lily pads and green grass filling the backgrounds. After the ceremony while the wedding party was taking pictures, the kids were able to ride the horses.Our family and friends still talk about how unique, cool, and beautiful our wedding was!! Overall, we would recommend Rocking J Ranch to anyone who is looking for a venue that not only comes with an amazing scenery, but because you have the works behind it all. The staff at Rocking J makes your day YOUR day. They open their home up to you and make you feel at home.

large, beautiful home for the bride to get ready in, they offered on-site catering and cooked everything by hand with homestyle recipes, and they provided all the vintage decorations that I could've wanted to accent my theme. I booked with Rocking J over a year ago and I had multiple meetings with Suzy, the co-owner. I am extremely type-A and like things a certain way and always want to make sure everything is in place, and Suzy was always accommodating and understanding. She even rearranged personal commitments she had to make sure we were able to meet when I was available. It is evident that Suzy is prepared to help in any way she can. She always has ideas and can explain what has worked well in the past, but will also yield if you want something totally different and off the beaten path. And, I couldn't believe the cost of this place. We chose the package with everything included: set up, tear down, onsite catering, etc., which was already affordable, but then when we had someone already to officiate or to make our cakes (both of which are included in the package), she took the cost off - and she did that with 7 or 8 things that we already had! My wedding was different than most of the brides Suzy works with, but I was grateful that she did everything to make mine exactly what I envisioned. Suzy is warm-hearted, personable, and truly cares for her brides. I wouldn't have wanted to work with anyone else throughout this stressful time of planning a wedding. My wedding was everything I dreamed, and even more because of this venue.

Cement dance floor, creative decor, gorgeous new bathrooms, and a great covered ceremony site! And let's not forget to mention that Suzy opens her actual home for you to get ready in! Can you say GENEROUS!!?? This is definitely a special place ran by a special lady!! We can't wait for the big day!! And I just know it will be stress free thanks to the rocking J ranch!!

te country-chic wedding but mostly because of all the hard work that the bride, her mother and sisters put in making all of the decorations and cute little touches. They brought in literally almost everything. I don't think it would have been anywhere near as great if they would have left it up to the venue staff, who were very stubborn and hard to work with. The owner even came up to the bride's mother and demanded a check for more money right then during the reception because she said there were guests present than in the contract, even though she hadn't counted or brought any proof with her. A woman running a wedding venue should know to conduct herself with more class. If it was an issue she wanted to bring up, it should have been done in the weeks following the wedding, not during the middle of a big event that they were already paying tens of thousands of dollars for. It was very sad that it was such an upsetting event for the bride and her family on what was supposed to be the best day of her life.

I did a "DIY", so just renting the venue. The ranch is absolutely beautiful. Very rustic and real with string lights, a hay couch, and nice touches all around. The look and feel were exactly what I was looking for. So why not worth it? One word - Suzy. She's the co-owner who manages all of the weddings and running the venue. She doesn't really have any system of organization, consistently called me by the wrong name, asked for an additional deposit that wasn't in my contract (on top of paying more than 80% at booking to hold the date), had a ton of people in and out while we were trying to set up, tried to micromanage my event, and was generally very difficult to work with. When corresponding via email - the best way to reach her - most of her emails didn't really make much sense. When I showed up for an appointment, she had no idea who I was. With all the problems I had just renting the venue, I can't even imagine if she were actually coordinating my wedding. Scary! All of the pre- and post- wedding issues aside, the venue was beautiful, and my guests loved it. I'm glad I chose it, but if I weren't as organized and well-prepared, Suzy's antics would have been way too stressful. Be careful!
