s. Everyone had only positive things to say about the food (including cocktail hour and dinner). I definitely enjoyed my plate and ate everything. Venue was beautiful, and they decorated and set everything up as expected. My only issue was that it wasn't as 'transformed' as we had thought. After reading other reviews and talking to other couples, we thought the room would be more 'transformed', but really, it didn't change much. It made more of a difference at night, when the uplighting changed the mood, but I wish we didn't have to wait till it got dark to experience that. First of all, Kat has been so amazing. She's quick to respond, has been supportive of all of my indecisive design changes, and receptive to our requests. Our tasting was fantastic. Of all the cake bakers we tried, hers was consistent in flavor and texture, and was very professional. She even did an on-site sketch and is going to make us a mock cake to take home before finalizing the design (no other cake bakers offer this). She has provided sketches and examples throughout this entire process. On top of all of this, she is associated with the country club, so we save of travel/transportation and cutting fees. She's also very competitively priced compared to other cake venders. As far as the final product, absolutely beautiful. My only dislike was the lace appliques that were on the top and bottom tier. From far away, they just looked like blue fondant in diamond shape. Once up close, you can see there was a lace pattern, but it really didn't come off as lace. Otherwise, the sugar flowers, shape, size and taste were exactly as expected. Other than the lace appliques, I would totally get a cake from her again in the future.
