The RAA was an incredible venue for our wedding. Robin was very helpful and organized. The space is beautiful. We were married indoors due to it being too cold to do an outdoor ...
ceremony in the meadow on our wedding date. The barn doors made the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. If you are having a smaller wedding I would highly recommend taking a look at this gem of a venue.
Rockport Art Association and Museum (the "art house") was a wonderful reception venue for my husband and I to celebrate our wedding! The abundance of natural light from the skyligh...
ts in the main gallery gives the feeling of an outdoor venue while the exposed beams and artwork on the walls gives the feeling of elegant and rustic museum.
The museum rental cost was $2500 from 5:30-10:30pm and they offer to do the ceremony inside. We opted out of this since we had an outdoor location for the ceremony. However, the arthouse was our rain plan in the event we needed to move our ceremony indoors, which gave us peace of mind during planning process.
Robin, the event coordinator for the arthouse, is a wonderful guide to all things wedding in the northshore/ rockport area. Robin introduced us to an entertainment company where we found a great DJ that provided music for our reception and our ceremony which was outside at another location. The DJ had our guests dancing for the entire evening!
Our guests loved the unique venue of the art house, roaming the different galleries and checking out the beautiful pieces throughout the evening. The Maddocks gallery served as the cocktail hour room, where the bar was stationed as well as the dessert table and a grand piano. The Hibbard Gallery was the main event room, with our dinner tables and dance floor were set up. The DJ coordinated a sing-along with our wedding officiant who played a song on the piano in the maddocks gallery, where everyone gathered and attempted to sing along with the bride and groom :)
It was a truly amazing evening and the team of wedding venders at the arthouse made it extra special.
My husband and I fell in love with the RAA when we visited in October 2012. For the fee of $1500, you have access to the 7 galleries on site, including a gorgeous courtyard separa...
ting the front galleries and the restored barn-turned-gallery. The space was beautiful for our ceremony and reception, and the space doesn't require decorations aside from centerpieces due to the gorgeous artwork covering the walls-- all New England and Rockport seasonal landscapes.
There are a couple of "hidden" fees-- you need a Rockport Police detail for the wedding parking, and the piano has to be covered by a huge table cloth (if you're not using it). They require you to use one of their approved full-service caterers, but we were grateful to use one on their list-- Gourmet Delights Catering.
The spaces are air-conditioned and have a few restrooms to use. Plus we used the smaller galleries on the second level for my bridesmaids and I to put on finishing touches, and the groomsmen to play! I highly recommend this venue!
Robin was very helpful throughout the whole process. Plenty of parking. The gallery was pretty in pictures. Well lighted. Temperature was controlled with AC.
RAA was incredibly easy to work with, especially thanks to Robin Perry who runs her own wedding consulting business and is currently their event manager. Everything was seamless, ...
communication was easy, and the venue was perfect for our 100 guest wedding.
Excellent location downtown Rockport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Grand piano for use, also nice count yard setting to give indoor plus some outdoor space. Beautiful ...
artistic environment with paintings around the room to view...room for bride to get ready in unstairs and come down staircase into court yard, was perfect!
