Rode's Barn

I recently had my wedding on 11/10/18 and had worked with Alyssa for over a year and Kaila while Alyssa was out on leave. Both ladies were beyond helpful, reassuring, and honestly even though I was nervous how everything would turn out, even my expectations were surpassed. The food was BEYOND amazing and the entire staff that night were super accommodating. The staff made setting up a breeze and Alyssa was there with me morning of for anything thing I needed. Our guests raved about how cool the venue was and it really did look like something straight from Pinterest. Hands down, best night ever!

very bad customer service. No apologies for months of no contact. Ran out of beer 3/4 of the way through our wedding (we chose 3 types and they ran out of our top choice even though we had a small bar bill). Kept harping on how busy she was, how she had no help and how she just had a baby.

DO NOT have a wedding here! Not worth the hassle! My sister just got married here and had nothing but issues. The owner is TERRIBLE!!!! She seems to think having a baby gives her the right to ignore requests from the bride, and does not answer her phone or email! Accommodating in the beginning until she receives payment then goes M.I.A. Alyssa SUCKS! Post from the Bride: Awful overall experience. 3 months of zero contact on their end (this was the last 3 months leading up til the wedding). One month before the wedding I finally heard back and received no apology only excuse after excuse. I was told that she had sooooo many weddings and catering events that she is just so busy. I should have been made to feel like I was the only wedding and the only bride. I was told that if i really needed to contact her i should have googled her phone number (mind you she had told me she’s never really in the office and emailnwas best!) When confirming everything in February I was told the benches around the ceremony space would be done and would match the stump and board seating in place only to find that due to a lack of time on her part she ordered benches that look nothing like the original seating. Was also told there would be plenty of seating once done but instead most of my guests had to stand. I was told my rehearsal day and time was good (after begging for her to let me know it was so my party could take off of work) then one week before the rehearsal I was told the Friday bride would have to let me know if that time worked since she gets to set up the day before. There was an issue with chairs the day of (the rental company came to get them and told my coordinator they were not paid for). I paid Rodes directly for the chairs and I could not reach anyone. There were 2 helpful people and that was the new assistant (Kaila) who tried really hard to fix the damage done and Shelly the bar tender who was amazing and super sweet and accommodating!

Alyssa was so nice and the food was delicious. We had so many compliments on the venue choice. Loved it!!

Our wedding turned out beautifully and the food was awesome. Alyssa is super hard to communicate with tho. Sometimes it would go weeks at a time without a response back (which is very frustrating when trying to plan a wedding). All in all it is a nice venue. Definitely could be run better tho.

We had our daughter and son in laws wedding at Rodes this past November and we had a wonderful time. If you are planning a wedding that is personalized and unique this is the place. The barn is rustic and cozy. The outdoor ceremony space is beautiful. The staff we friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious.

Rode's was the perfect wedding venue for us. Alyssa allowed us to turn Rode's into our dream wedding. It was absolutely perfect! The venue is a wonderful atmosphere and the BBQ food is out of this world.

As soon as we visited the barn and met Alyssa we knew this was where we wanted to have our fall wedding (10/15/17). Alyssa was fantastic to work with, and she was super excited and eager to help us with everything. She really listened to our ideas, made us feel at ease, and guided us through any decisions we had to make. We brought all of our decorations and she and her staff set everything up perfectly! It was gorgeous and even better than I envisioned. The outdoor areas were beautiful and everyone enjoyed being able to sit by the fire, play games, and then go in for a dance. Everyone loved the food as well! We really could not have had a better experience, and we can't thank Alyssa and her staff enough!

I have reached out to Rodes a few times and have only received one response! After responding to them I waited two weeks for a reply and then emailed them again and its been another week and still no reply. I used two different email accounts and the first one i used never got a response back at all! This is definitely a place I’d be a little scared to deal with if they can’t even return an email!

Alyssa and her staff are wonderful people to work with n definitely go the extra mile to make sure your event with them is always perfect. Their entrees, sides and desserts are as delicious as their staff is friendly. Furthermore, they have the most talented of staff who help Alyssa in creating the perfect environment for those magical days or evenings no matter what the theme of the wedding, the colors and the season call for... Very well coordinated company indeed. Also in Rodes Barn & Catering establishments is Rodes Coop which you can eat in or order ahead for office parties or picnics or whatever gathering you are planning.

I am currently planning my wedding and I've chosen the location of rodes barn in Swedesboro. I am so happy I've picked this location. Alyssa who you book and communicate with is amazing. she is so easy going and let's you do anything to make your day perfect. wouldn't have picked anywhere else.

Couldn't have asked for a better venue! Alyssa was beyond helpful and helped make the big day a huge success! Her staff is amazing and very friendly !! The food was exceptional and everyone is raving over the entire wedding! Excellent choice !

Food was just blah. Some of it was undercooked or cold. Also horrified to see how they handled an unfortunate situation involving a young girl who sadly became ill with cancer. Her event was no longer going to take place and they refused to give the full deposit amount to her sister as requested by the original bride for her event. Alyssa would only honor half!?!? Which I still don't understand why!?! That makes no sense??? The deposit has never been refunded and Alyssa is no longer answering calls or emails from them. Complete lack of compassion and Alyssa has handled it in the most disgraceful and unprofessional manner! Don't waste your money with this venue there are far better in the area! Give the rodio's their FULL deposit back and rectify this situation!!!!!

Alyssa is absolutely wonderful to work with and super helpful. The barn is beautiful. It's perfect for a small wedding. I chose it after a friend got married there and I have friends who are getting married here in the future. The price of the barn is extremely reasonable compared to others. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of my wedding here, it was truly the best day of my life.

Perfect venue for an intimate, unique, and laid-back wedding! Alyssa was great to work with and very helpful. Our day was perfect and exceeded my expectations!
