sier. RG was the first photographer we met with in person during our short lived hunt. Deciding to go with him after just this instance shows how special our connection was. The biggest caveat with our wedding is that we need his services within a small window, by wedding standards. Our wedding was pushed up eight months due to the venue closing. Thankfully, his was available. The whole process of inquiring, meeting, signing, and planning was very kinetic in the best way possible. Being an amateur photographer myself, I had expectations that were very important. I was candid with RG about this and he obliged with no hesitation and the most open mind. He also had didn't mind geeking out with me, greatly appreciated! Our first meeting consisted of RG sharing his best work and the beats of a typical day - this was key! After, we had to provide a non-refundable retainer that was half of the total cost. This needed to be done in order to sign the contract and officially start planning. The planning process was fun as it consisted of my wife and I selecting shots for RG that contributed to our vision. Also, a questionnaire helped provide RG and his wife Jane (2nd camera) direction for the day of. This included locations, prep schedule, transportation, and people/poses of interest. On the wedding day, R&J were right on time, if not, a little early. The availability of our bridal party changed that morning, but R&J were able to roll with the changes and still work efficiently. Throughout the day, we didn't give much thought to R&J because we trusted that they would be everywhere we went, and they were. When it came time to group or poses shots, they were very precise and friendly, key great qualities to have on an action packed day like this. They complimented each other perfectly and JG was especially helpful and knowledgeable in coordinating the bride's outfit and placing the bridal party. Chicago traffic and an unexpected blizzard forced the wedding party to arrive late to the reception - R&J were extremely understanding. They worked hard to get beautiful shots in the limited time available and their thoughtfulness was very much appreciated. The day after our wedding we received a quick email containing preview shots, which surpassed our expectations. We couldn't wait to see the end result a month later. The final viewing was at RG's home studio. There we reminisced about the day, caught up on life, and viewed the photos. He was nice enough to provide personalized gifts that included with his work. While we caught up, we learned there was a recent loss in his family that we could closely relate to. The fact that he maintained communication and held to his delivery date for the photos reflects the highest level of professionalism you can find. Looking back at the photos, we love how much of our personalities R&J captured with candid shots. These were very important to us. We are beyond satisfied at R&J's work. Working with Roland and his wife was one of the best decisions we've made as a couple. It was one of the easiest choices we made during our wedding planning process. Looking back on the special day brings smiles to our faces, but bigger ones when we think of working with Roland and Jane.

r photos outside our venue on the golf course. Before our wedding day, I spoke with Roland to go over the questionnaire we filled out leading up to our wedding. He took notes and was informed on the schedule for the day. On the actual wedding date, he was sure to follow up and make sure we got all the shots that we wanted. He was patient and kind and made the whole process fun! Roland sent us all our photos within 4 weeks of our wedding date and we had a preview within a few days. It made our honeymoon that much sweeter to look at our blog post with our wedding photos. We have received nothing but great complements on all our photos. We relived our day once we received all the photos. He caught all the pictures we wanted. Again, thank you SO MUCH for capturing our day amazingly!

ssion, he was willing to work with our perfect location which was outside in the spring and really use the natural sunlight the day had to offer to give us some gorgeous shots. For the wedding, Roland and his wife were awesome. They were right on time and jumped in getting all of the little detail shots while we finished getting ready for the day. Somehow they were able to get all of the shots of the reception space and cake even with the tight schedule of bridal party and family photos before and after the ceremony. They stayed an extra hour to accommodate for a special dance I had planned for my step parents so that there are pictures (which are perfect!) of that moment. We had a sneak peek of the photos within five days after the wedding and the entire album for viewing not even two weeks after. We love that the shots look natural and they truly captured some amazing candid moments of our ceremony and day. I cannot recommend these guys enough!

Roland and his wife directed us through the whole way and made us feel so comfortable! We also asked if we could take photos at a special spot down the road from our venue and they had no issue with that at all! There's not a single moment he missed during the entire wedding. He even captured some moments we missed! Not only did he take perfect pictures, he took A LOT of them. So many photographers only end up with a couple dozen good photos, but with Roland we have more than we could have ever imagined. While taking photos he was very kind and patient, working with very large groups of people to get everyone organized. He took the time to pose and make sure the shots were perfect before moving on, but did so in a very speedy way as to not waste time. t us put that value of the package towards other things (like upgrading our photo album). Communication was always quick, clear, and professional. They were on time and made sure to get most of the shots that we had requested. They were able to capture a lot of important moments and were great at the detailed shots. Their more candid or photojournalistic shots were my favorites. Afterwards, the online gallery was pretty easy to browse/manage, and the USB drive they provided was fantastic (it was seriously the fanciest, gorgeous crystal-looking USB drive I've ever seen). They were easy to work with when putting together the album, quickly made changes as requested (materials, colors, layout, picture order), and the quality of the book was well beyond expectations. I really only have two criticisms. 1) A few (and I'm talking literally around 5-10 out of over 1000) of the images had lighting issues (not sure if it was a new flash setup or editing or what) where a couple of shots seemed almost blown out while others were a bit dark or underexposed. 2) I wish we had gotten a couple of better close up "just us" shots. We did a few in the hotel, but the pose was essentially the same with his arms somewhat wrapped around me on my hips/belly which just looked awkward or almost like a pregnancy photo. We took more couple shots at the venue, but they were mostly fully body shots stiffly posed. Still, I gave them 5 stars, because I think I'm just nitpicking. They were really fantastic, and did a great job capturing our day in the best way possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great photographer for any occasion.

He answered all my questions, and he asked me some great questions as he wanted to get to know me better as well. He was willing to customize the package under my budget. On our Big Day, Roland and Jane showed up to the salon early to take photos of us getting ready. They were super friendly and easy to work with. I could tell they were paying very close attention to all the details, lighting, and capturing all the moments without interfering with the hair and make-up artists. Even my hair dresser made a comment on how passionate Roland seemed compared with other photographers he had seen in the past. Throughout the rest of the day, Roland and Jane worked right on time and captured all the important moments beautifully. They traveled from Gurnee to Glenview to Itasca and finally to Oak Brook and stayed until near the end of reception without any extra fees. What impressed me even more was how FAST I received my online preview and gallery after the wedding. I received my online preview only THREE DAYS after the wedding! All my bridesmaids were shocked at how fast I received my photos and how BEAUTIFUL all my photos look. I am going to ask Roland and Jane to take my future pregnancy photos, family birthdays, and many other important life occasions to come. I am 100% satisfied with Roland Gozun Photography as my wedding photographer.
