Deb & Dawna @ Romance etc are awesome. Dawna was always very helpful whenever I went in and Deb was just amazing. My husband and I had an aesthetic we wanted and Deb NAILED IT!
In our first meeting, I gave her my Pinterest board and she literally made it come to life! I had used them before for minor things like bouquets and corsages/boutonnieres so when they were listed as an approved vendor for our ceremony/reception venue (Hotel Maya), I knew who my florist was going to be!
Deb worked to even help keep costs from getting away from me. I gave her my budget and she found a way to keep to it and even do better than I expected. If you are in need of a florist for ANYTHING, don't hesitate to stop in and talk to Deb, she will make your dreams come true!
Deborah and Dawna at Romance Etc. were so helpful to me and created an absolutely beautiful bridal bouquet for me. I showed Deb some pictures of what I was thinking from Pinterest and tried to describe the general vibe I was going for and she created a unique and beautiful bouquet that completely surpassed my expectations. They were very easy to work with and I received many compliments on my flowers.
It seems like every wedding has a problem vendor. Romance Etc. was ours.
There were a couple of odd things at the start. Every other vendor accepted checks or cards, whereas Romance Etc. only wanted cash or a cashier's check. Having to hand deliver hundreds of dollars (because who would trust the mail with that) was an inconvenience. Slightly annoying, and we couldn't really understand why that was necessary, but not a deal breaker.
It was more of a gut check when three days before the wedding our coordinator called us and said Romance Etc. didn't know who would be picking up flowers. We had been communicating via email and sent them a note a month before saying who would pick them up, but their email system was apparently down and our messages to them were going into a black hole. Since there was no way for us to know that, we didn't know what was going on. Some contact from their end would have been nice.
The day of the wedding I picked up the flowers, which were very pretty. We had ordered several bouquets of roses and matching boutonnieres, with the bride's bouquet incorporating an antique crystal chain for her "something old." During pre wedding photography the crystal started detaching from the red ribbon tied around the flowers stems but we were able to tack it down.
The real trouble was a few minutes earlier. The bouquets had been set in containers with water reaching high enough to soak the red ribbon around the flower stems. That meant that when the bride sat down, the bouquet started dripping red water onto the lap of her white dress. Thankfully we caught what was going on very soon and were able to keep it from turning into too much of a disaster. I couldn't figure out how that could happen, but it did make me understand why Romance Etc. wanted cash up front.
I could not be happier with my decision to go with Deborah and Dawna at Romance Etc.! They were higher priced than some other florists, but we got what we paid for. I really didn't have a vision for anything and just asked Deborah to run with it, and she truly delivered. My bouquet was gorgeous and all the flowers and decor were out of this world. They were so flexible with me and worked with me within my budget by reusing the ceremony flowers in the reception area.
Deb did an outstanding job! She even came through with a last minute request for cake flowers and I could not have imagined anything more beautiful. A true artist with flowers! Everything was exactly as I imagined and her pricing is extremely fair and competitive. Thank you Deb and Romance, Etc. You helped make our wedding day so beautiful!
Deb was the florist for my wedding. The quality of her work was exceptional. She was very flexible around my budget, even suggesting that I rent and return some of the centerpieces to help meet my budget. The day of the wedding, the flowers and succulents that she provided were beautiful! Highly recommended.
I'm removing one star for slight disorganization. They charged my card for the deposit 3 times - and while they did refund the money, it was a little jarring for that to be our first transaction. In addition, there was some confusion about the number of centerpieces I wanted, even though I had both called and emailed to confirm - Deb ended up calling me and asking me again. At the end of the day, I'm glad she called and was concerned about getting it right, but I also hate to repeat myself when I've been very clear.
Also, they accept only cash or cashier's check for the final payment, which is very inconvenient for customers who live far away (me!). Don't we live in a world where credit cards are acceptable?
WOW! Just LOVED our flowers. When I saw them arriving the day of I got SO excited. Deborah did an incredible job executing exactly what I envisioned for my centerpieces, wedding arch, and bridal bouquets all while working within my budget. She suggested things to cut some cost and it still looked beyond gorgeous. Very grateful!
Deb at Romance Etc can truly make your dreams a reality. I walked into Romance Etc in Long Beach having a vision and Deb made my vision a reality. I can't tell you how many compliments we had on the flowers, it was truly like the ads you see in a magazine... I could just tell her what I wanted and she would just take it from there. Professional, sweet and AMAZING!!! I can't say enough great things about Deb and her team at Romance Etc!! Thank you Deb for everything!!!!
Deborah takes so much pride and has so much passion for what she does. She is a true artist with flowers and delivered exactly what I envisioned. She stayed in contact with me through out the weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure we were on the same page which was so helpful.
Romance Etc. was just okay. there were a few miscommunications, and on my wedding day, some of the flowers were browned around the edges, and not the colors I had requested, but overall the flowers were fine
my flowers arrived dead and i did not get what i paid for... my flowers were delivered really small
We were incredibly happy with our wedding flowers from Romance Etc. Deborah did such an excellent job bringing our vision to life. We had a general idea and color scheme in mind, but Deborah was able to expand on our ideas and offer really great suggestions, all of which we took. All the bouquets and arrangements were more beautiful than I ever envisioned, but still stayed within our budget. We consulted with five florists , and Romance Etc. was the best value by far. Deborah was very accommodating with every last minute change that I threw at her. She even picked up the rented vases the day after our wedding, so we didn't have to worry about returning them, which was super helpful since we had about forty of them. Overall, we had an amazing experience and we highly recommend Romance Etc.
Debra is great to work with. You come with and idea and she will make it happen. I was unsure of the exact arrangements I wanted so I went through a few variations. In the end we ended up with exactly what I wanted in an even better version. Also our bouquets and boutieners lasted for the whole week later! I don't know how she did it but we were so happy with her and her team's work.
It's a small shop that you wouldn't expect to be that amazing but they are fabulous, would definitely recommend1
I decided to have Deborah Faye from Romance etc do my flower arrangements because of her experience and her creativity. I trusted her to create something that I was going to love with the information that I provided. Romance etc is located in Long Beach and my wedding was in Napa. I trusted that she knew what flowers to select to endure the travel to North California.
I was originally planning on doing the flowers by myself and with the help of my mom and bridesmaids. Everything I wanted was simple and I had all the vases already purchased.
I was away at school and was getting worried about the flowers. So, I called up Romance Etc. (recommended by my vendor) and she gave me a reasonable quote. My parents were fine with the cost and I was able to do everything either over the phone or via the web. She went over what I wanted and colors thoroughly with me and I also sent her pictures of what I was after. The only thing I had to do was drop off the vases about 10 days before the wedding.
The day of the wedding, I heard that the florist was a little late setting up but so was the venue and me and my bridesmaids. Everything looked just beautiful and I got exactly what I had pictured in my mind. Overall I was very happy with their service and they were easy to work with as well.
Debra is an amazing artist!!! Knowing my venue well and listening to a few of my ideas she created a perfect elegant look. I was SO happy when I saw the flowers as she was setting them up! They were even prettier than I imagined! Here work is truly beautiful!;She is so good at her job and knows her stuff so well she moves kind of fast so if you don't know flowers you may need to ask her to slow down. But you won't be disappointed by what she comes up with!
