Roost Photography

cially working with people. He knew exactly when to help guide things and when to step back and capture some beautiful moments. He knew all the best spots and how to work with our venue. He helped with our schedule and making sure we got everything on our shot list, but still got to relax and leave room for natural moments. Of all the vendors to invest in for your wedding - your photos will last the longest and it helps to have someone you trust, is easy to work with, and does great work. Brandon is a triple threat, we highly recommend!

UTIFUL. I had so many friends and family reaching out to me afterwards about our pictures. Couldn’t be happier!

the love behind his brilliantly and expertly edited photos. On a human level, he is kind, genuine, caring, attentive, helpful, and friendly to everyone he encounters. Roost is a safe and inclusive place for all people and proudly works with many LGBTQ+ couples. We hired Roost as our wedding and engagement session photographer. Here's why you should, too: 1. Photographing your most special moments is Brandon's passion. He genuinely cares about the people he works with and the photos he takes. He won't just do the job by checking items off a list, but rather will work until he is fully satisfied, knowing he has captured your special day or moment from every angle. 2. Brandon has a natural eye for lighting and photo backdrops. Walking around with his palm outstretched in front of him and stopping his subjects whenever the shadows are just right, you will not get a single photo with questionable lighting from Roost. He also utilizes the area around him (cityscape, buildings, architecture) as beautiful backdrops for his shots. 3. He's easy to contact. He's always available and responsive on social media, and you can schedule a phone or zoom with him any time. We had an extremely helpful planning meeting before the wedding in which Brandon's expertise actually helped us nail down our timeline. You won't have to worry about tracking him down to deliver your photos either, as he will keep you updated on the expected delivery time. 4. He will honor your vision for your special day or event. If you give him a specific vision, he will move mountains to make it happen, literally running through crowds of people to capture the next shot if he needs to. 5. Brandon is competitively priced among other photographers in the area, but will deliver more to you than the average photographer in the area. He delivers all photos within 6 weeks, the gallery size is larger than average, he sometimes creates short videos for you using his photos, and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. Roost is an extremely great value for the price. 6. He's just the best photographer in Milwaukee. Everyone who sees my engagement or wedding photos tells me how amazing his photos are. My venue even reached out to me for his contact information because they want to use his images as advertising on his website. His work speaks for itself, check out his instagram @roostmke If you're looking for a photographer for your engagement, wedding, or special event, I cannot recommend Roost Photography enough.

uple. He has an incredible eye for detail, and we could not be happier with our experience! We will cherish our wedding photos for a lifetime! Highly recommend Roost Photography to all!

hings about him…he was that great!!!

ur photos are gorgeous! On our wedding day he worked so well with other vendors, helped wrangle our large wedding party so we could take all the photos we wanted, and did it all with a light hearted, funny demeanor. I can't express enough how happy we are with Brandon and his work!

fter taking photos on the wedding day, our bridal party even mentioned how cool and fun Brandon was. Specifically, if you want photos with phenomenal lighting, Brandon is your guy. Would 100% recommend him to any couple.

Milwaukee, and has been so communicative throughout the entire process. Our wedding day was a little iffy with the weather, and Brandon brought umbrellas and took all necessary precautions. He made the most of the weather and even made sure we got outside for the only 30 seconds the sun peaked through all day. We have not gotten our entire gallery back (yet!), but he has been very honest about timeline and has sent sneak peeks and images here and there to keep us updated. All of the photos I have seen so far are INCREDIBLE and I am already looking forward to doing anniversary and lifestyle shoots because he's just that good. Brandon is creative, friendly, and hilarious. He puts everyone at ease during photos, and I am so excited to see the rest. If you hire Brandon you will not be disappointed. He truly is amazing at what he does.

d the venue to a parent's back yard, and were unable to get our original photographer due to health conditions putting them at higher risk. We were incredibly lucky that our original photographer referred us to Brandon, for several reasons. He was easy to work with. We wanted to set up a video call to get to know him, and he immediately put us at ease with calm confidence and an easygoing, understated sense of humor. He explained to us the plan that he would be the "boots on the ground" while our original photographer would still do the editing, talked us through plans for the day, and asked us questions to get us thinking about the kind of prep we'd need to do for the shots we'd want. On the day of, he arrived on time and quickly got to work. He did a great job of taking our ideas and feedback and synthesizing it with his own professional knowledge of photography and experience with weddings to get a variety of really excellent shots. And more than that, with such a small guest list of immediate family only, as you can imagine, everyone was juggling at least a couple of responsibilities, and Brandon rose to the occasion, helping us coordinate shuttling me around to avoid seeing my bride-to-be or her dress before the appointed time. He even hopped on the task of restarting our jury-rigged audio setup - a bluetooth speaker hanging from a tree - when it had gone to sleep during the ceremony and failed to activate for our recessional. This small act - just quickly stepping over and fiddling with a button - nonetheless is indicative of the kind of value Brandon brings: he takes responsibility onto himself to ensure your day is a success. At the same time, he's not pushy or domineering. For example, we wanted some photos with specific things in the background, and he let us know that the lighting conditions would be challenging, but he worked with us to find the angles to everyone's satisfaction. Now back to the quality of the photos: we couldn't be happier. I'm not sure to what extent he had to modify his own photography technique, given that he knew someone else would be doing the editing. But I'm certain that this is more of a challenge than taking photos that you know YOU will be the one to edit. For photos that Brandon both takes and edits, his website has some very nice galleries. I'm happy to report that his ability to take high quality base material, and his ability to work in a team with other photography professionals, resulted in an outstanding final product. If you're considering hiring Brandon as your wedding photographer, I would wholeheartedly recommend him. His skill and adaptability will leave you with a wonderful record of your special day. Though we would not have been directly affected, we appreciate that his philosophy is that love is love, and he photographs all weddings without concern for the gender makeup of the spouses.

t had to be made due to the pandemic. He was on time, professional, and extremely patient especially with our five year old daughter.

ooth we did with Roost Photography. Brandon uploads the photos to Facebook for your guests to view which is a great memory for all.

rescheduled a mini wedding at our parent's house. He was on board the entire time, even through the back and forth while we were trying to figure out what was important to us. What amazing photography! He captured the drama I wanted along with the bright outdoor wedding I was picturing. The day was perfect! Brandon was right there for every moment. Thank you, Brandon. We appreciate you so much!

nd he is up for literally anything- early morning sunrise sessions, freezing cold shoots, colorful smoke bombs, getting grass stains or balancing on one foot to get the shot- he is 100% engaged in the whole process, making it his personal mission to make sure that your photos are unique, creative and reflect who you are as a couple. He is so personable and made it easy to just relax and have fun together without worrying about posing . He truly has a raw talent for capturing the special details and candid moments that others might not even notice or that would take a lot of posing and coaching for others to achieve. We were speechless at the quality, variety and beauty of the images he captured and are so grateful to have worked with Brandon for our engagement and wedding shoots. The photos (and the whole experience with Brandon) are a true treasure- we cannot recommend him highly enough.

when you’re planning such a big event. He even offered to (and did) chauffeur us around on our big day since we decided against renting a party bus. (What a guy!) Not only is Brandon an all-around awesome person to spend a day with, but he’s got the skills to match. Wedding photos are one of the few tangible things you keep from your wedding day so we placed a lot of importance in picking the right photographer. We really admired Brandon’s previous work and when it came to our wedding Brandon did not disappoint! Not only did he capture beautiful photographs we get to show people for the rest of our lives, but he managed to make them look just as magical as the day felt. Thank you, Brandon! We are so grateful.

He is generous, humble, selfless, and hilarious. He has quickly become one of my favorite people EVER - it was an honor and a privilege to be able to spend time with him on my wedding day. Brandon also made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, which was very important to us. We never felt awkward, uncomfortable, or posed. Brandon also did our engagement photographs which turned out absolutely perfectly. I would 100% recommend Roost Photography over and over again.

don was like our long lost best friend from the moment we met him. He made us feel immediately comfortable and gives such great direction. I love his energy, passion, and especially his editing style. We were married at Turner Hall Ballroom and the photos are to die for. They allow me to relive the entire day every time I look through them. They always say to invest in your photos for your wedding because you'll have them forever. I couldn't be happier with our choice to go with Brandon at RoostMKE. He even got us featured with Married in Milwaukee #goals. Thank you, Brandon. I will recommend you to any and everyone I know!

forever!

inted. From the moment we met him, we knew he would be the perfect fit for us. The photos from our day turned out beautifully. He captured our day in the exact way that we had hoped. The photos of the two of us showed our love for one another and our personalities came through, too. He caught all of the details and special moments - even the one of a post-ceremony chat with Grandma. Every shot is well thought out from the composition, to the angle, to how the light hits the subject just right, to the overall mood. There is an abundant amount of care and attention that goes into each photo and it shows. Not only is Brandon an extremely talented photographer, but he also is a great presence to have around on such a crazy day. Being in front of a camera can make a lot of people feel awkward, but his direction and calm demeanor made everyone feel at ease. We would 100% recommend Roost Photography if you're looking for both great quality and care. Thank you again and again, Brandon!

from our first consultation, through the whirlwind planning (4 month engagement), for an awesome date night engagement photo session, and clearly-the entire day of the wedding. We never felt like we were just another job to Brandon. We got to know each other, and valued his advice on all things wedding related. We had a couple of non-traditional items in our wedding that have special meaning to us. Brandon picked up on what was important to us and made sure to include all the special items and events. Brandon's passion and experience is evident in his work. We had an incredible wedding day, and now we have the pictures to remember it forever.
