Their artistry was so stunning and they did a fantastic job of being unobtrusive while still getting all the must-have shots. Since they live nearby, they even came out to the house a few days ahead of time to get familiar with the layout of the property. Our photos are a treasure we're so happy to have, and Root & Arrow were the perfect choice for our wedding day!

You can tell they put so much effort and passion into what they do. I loved the wedding guide we received in the mail after booking, all of the cute Emails with helpful tips during the engagement process, the beautiful photo box with our wedding photos, etc. there was just so much they put into making your day go as smoothly as possible. Wedding planning is stressful, and hiring Amanda and Richard was one less HUGE thing I had to stress about because of how professional they are. Amanda was also always willing to answer questions and talk on the phone whenever I needed clarification! I received sooo many compliments on our photos as well, I had quiet a few people say our photos should be in a magazine they were so beautiful. I am very happy with my engagement and wedding photos and if I had to do it all over again I would book them a million times over! Thank you both for such a great experience! Out of the gallery, I think there are 3 or 4 photos I really liked or loved - I wish there was more feedback given during the time of our session (clothing changes or suggestions, options for poses, etc. I wish I was told that my hair didn't look great because of the rain and to quickly try something different or pick somewhere inside). I know the rain situation wasn't ideal. Looking through their postings, I feel like we're the only couple who wasn't posted about their gallery day/photo updates which makes me feel as though our photos weren't their favorites either. I know we walk away with a couple of wonderful photos, but I was really hoping to walk away feeling a bit better than I do right now.

utside and our wedding ceremony was outside - Amanda and Richard did an incredible job of capturing the northern Michigan beauty around us AND making us look great too. They were both super nice, professional, great at coaching us on how to pose, open to all ideas we had for photos, and even stayed a little later than planned at the wedding to capture our behind schedule sparkler send off. I highly recommend working with them, you will not be disappointed!

Amanda & Richard exceeded our expectations and then some. They were incredibly professional throughout the entire process. My questions were responded to immediately. They have great guides to let you know what you should and shouldn't be doing for your wedding day.
The creativity and editing of their pictures is unreal. I was continuously shocked at how good I looked in pictures (normally not photogenic). Any compliment you can think of, they deserve it. Highly recommend!

ommodating with the weather, traveling, and capturing exactly what we wanted; but they are also overall awesome people to be around. They made us feel comfortable about getting in front of a camera and did creative work! We brought our dog along for both photo sessions and they made sure to make our furry friend comfortable too!
