I went to rose for alterations on my bridal gown after doing extensive research on alterations in my area. I wasn't going to trust my gown with just anybody! And it was very important to me that my dress fit perfectly. Rose did not disappoint at all! Her attention to detail and her talent at working on gowns is second to none. If you are looking for alterations in the San Diego area, I wouldn't look any further. When I first went in to see Rose, my dress was quite a few sizes too big and way too long. She stared off by taking in the side seams quite a bit, and over the next couple visits got the bodice fitting perfectly with the slightest adjustments and addition of cups. She had a great eye for fixing all the little details that were wrong with the dress. Then after the bodice was done, over a couple more visits the finished my hem (which was all lace and took very delicate hand work) and created the most beautiful bustle. I went to rose every two weeks for almost 3 months, since she likes to work on gowns section by section, but that is the best way to do it to ensure the perfect fit. Totally worth it! My dress fit like a glove and was absolutely gorgeous. Not a single flaw :) She is a very sweet lady, works out of her home, and has very affordable pricing. My gown was all lace which is difficult to work with, and for taking it in, shortening the hem, the bustle, adding cups, and press it was just barely over $400. You just can't beat that! Rose made my dress fit me like a glove. I bought at David's Bridal and hired her for alterations. She took in the sideseams to make it fit and to make the drape of the skirt a little more modern. She went above and beyond to accommodate my large chest and strapless dress by sewing my bra right into the dress. When she saw that my heels were sufficient to avoid a hem, she didn't even try to pressure me into getting one even though it would have doubled her fee. Overall I paid just $150 for getting the undergarment work and having the side-seams taken in (prices as of July 2012). She is also really nice! I recommend her whole-heartedly.

I was a little hesitant to take my wedding dress to just anyone because I was wearing my mom's 43 year old wedding dress. I couldn't just replace it if it was ruined. I read wonderful reviews about Rose on a different site and called her. She worked on my mom's dress, kept the integrity and original design like a I wanted, but made a few necessary changes. Needless to say she was very careful and detail oriented and I got to wear my mom's dress.

Rose altered my dress for my wedding. I was wearing a strapless dress and was worried about it falling down and/or falling out of it. She sewed my corset into the dress and that made all the difference. I danced all night with no issues. I'd highly recommend using Rose for your bridal alterations. Rose is sweet, professional and her prices can't be beat.

Rose did a wonderful job making alterations to my wedding dress. She always finished every task on time and with beautiful craftsmanship. She also was extremely affordable, often providing services for half the cost of other vendors. What I liked most about Rose was that she really seemed to care about making me look my best on my wedding day. I could tell that she thought a lot about how best to take up the hem of my lace dress, and how to bustle it. She really did an amazing job because I can’t tell at all where she cut the lace on the dress and where she added extra lace to reinforce clips for the bustle. I can’t say enough nice things about Rose and the work that she does.

Rose is so warm, inviting and cool as hell. She is always so excited about your wedding and her experience and professionalism is top notch. I would recommend her to anyone no matter what they need done...trust me, shes done it before.

I bought a sample gown that was 3 sizes too big. Rose turned it into a beauty that fit like a glove. It was sleeveless with a low back, yet I never felt uncomfortable in it and didn't spend the evening pulling it up. That dress never moved once! She paid attention to every detail and kept at it until it fit just right and everything was perfect. Also, we had an outdoor January ceremony, so she made a beautiful stole to wear with my dress. Thank you for making me feel like a princess!

Rose is incredibly confident, and there's a reason. She is an expert in her field. She works out of her house, which is a little out of the way in Lemon Grove, but it is totally worth it. Rose will take care of anything you need done to your dress. I had cups put into mine (so the top actually fit)and had her make a bustle. It turned out perfectly. Don't expect to be coddled and don't act like a bridezilla, she won't stand for it. She is skilled and has a dozen to thirty brides at any given time. Her prices are affordable and she has been around long enough to constantly be busy with word-of-mouth customers. Check out her website, but don't be put off by it's simplicity. She can do anything.

I found Rose through recommendations of other San Diego brides. I am so very happy I asked on the knot's boards for who people recommended. Rose was affordable, very punctual with emails and appointments. By just me describing my dress to her in an email she knew exactly what dress it was and emailed me 3 other brides in that dress that she altered - it eased any anxiety I had about her. She works from her house and used to work in bridal stores. You can tell that Rose loves what she does and she is good @ it too. Her sewing room is full of wedding, bridesmaids dresses - I counted with my Mom and there were 24 @ once. All of my bridal party and family live halfway across the country, so most of the time I went to Rose's by myself and she helped me get into my wedding attire. My family and friends were amazed @ her work, friendliness. She is always working on a dress sitting on her couch. If you are looking for a budget-friendly seamstress - definitely call Rose.
