A New Take on A Storied Classic
Holds ceremonies and receptions
After dealing with several other caterers who were clearly juggling every aspect of their business at once and struggling to focus on actually planning our event, we finally struck gold with Favazza's.
The process was smooth. We submitted our info on their site and got a quick response to confirm a tasting at the restaurant. When we showed up, they made us feel like rockstars. We were introduced to our catering planner Quentin, the head chef, and another manager — all at once, all ready to take care of us. They served us a full spread of everything we had selected so we could taste before committing. Everything was so good that we only made one small change to our original selections.
Quentin stayed in regular contact with us leading up to the big day — making sure we knew exactly what size tables we needed, that linens were handled, and that nothing fell through the cracks. He was also the one who pointed us toward their Water Service ($3/pp), which was a lifesaver for us.
The day of the wedding, Quentin and his team showed up organized, professional, and completely dialed in — even for an offsite gig. Before guests arrived, they walked the entire room to make sure everything was perfect. They even wiped down the knives and spoons on the tables — the ones we had set out but hadn't had time to polish ourselves. We didn't ask them to. They just did it.
The food itself? Fantastic! The appetizers — Toasted Ravioli, Arancini, Italian Antipasto Skewers, and Fresh Spinach Flatbread Pizza. The gourmet buffet with Sicilian Chicken, Favazza's Roast Beef, Cavatelli Con Broccoli, and Penne Marinara had everyone going back for seconds. And the mini dessert package with cannoli was the perfect finish. We heard compliments all night long — about the food and about the staff.
The bussing team that comes as part of the package was just as impressive. Attentive, professional, and clearly well-managed by Quentin and Anthony Favazza. At the end of the night, leftovers were packaged up and ready for us to take, the entire catering area was spotless, and we didn't have to think about a single thing.
10 out of 10. We couldn't have asked for a better caterer for our wedding. Favazza's for life! 🙌

A History of Tradition and Excellence
The Rose of the Hill restaurant is a St.Louis institution whose doors have welcomed hundreds of hungry diners for over a century. In its past life, as the storied Old Ruggeri's, the banquet hall entertained guests such as Frank Sinatra with its famed culinary offerings. This tradition of warm welcomes, top-notch service, and delicious food continues with the Favazzas, who took over the premises in the early 2000s. A business with family and community at its heart, the establishment is named for the favorite flower of Mrs. Favazza Snr. With one eye on the past and one looking to the future, they have remodeled the building whilst restoring much of its former glory. Guests will be charmed by its original features, such as its dark wood bar and restored cloakroom. As the bride, I didn't even have to think about my own decorations for the venue. The staff did great every step of the way. At the end of the night, the staff had everything cleaned and packaged up for us to take home, they wrapped the top of our cake and helped gather any gifts. he course of 2 years through all the ups and downs of postponing, rescheduling, and coming up with alternative plans. What I appreciated from the start was Quentin's open and honest communication. Unlike other venues we toured, he did not feed us with misinformation or fill our minds with unrealistic ideas for our budget. He was realistic with what he had and what he could do to make our day great. We had a small COVID friendly wedding in 2020 and had our reception this year close to our 1 year anniversary. It was truly the best and most stress free reception ever. Everything was taken care of and the venue was gorgeous for our event. Our guests raved about how charming of a venue this was and that it was the best wedding food they had ever had (what else would you expect from Favazza's??). Quentin and his staff went above and beyond taking care of all of us and my husband and I had one of the most enjoyable nights of our lives surrounded by friends and family. I have not a single regret about this venue and recommend it without reservation.

for a more perfect reception. We continue to receive so many compliments from guests about the beautiful and intimate space, incredible food, and overall fantastic service. Quentin went above and beyond to make sure the entire reception ran smoothly and timely. When we were looking for reception venues, we wanted a venue that was very inclusive in terms of tables, decor, food, liquor, etc - and Rose of the Hill checked all of our boxes. All of the decorating is included in your price as well as food/bar service. Our parents and Grandparents were treated with incredible VIP service. We wish we could relive our reception at Rose of the Hill experience all over again and we cannot wait to make frequent trips to Favazza’s restaurant because the food is absolutely incredible!

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and I credit it their attention to detail and organization. John and Quentin are both so friendly, organized and responsive. Quentin was so fantastic the day of the wedding. He kept everything moving smoothly and on time. He really is amazing. The food and overall experience was just outstanding. He was to the point, reliable, helpful, and so attentive the night of the wedding!! It was such a relief to not have to worry at all about the reception space. We could just enjoy the night!! I can't recommend Rose of the Hill enough. ting Quintin made sure our minds were at ease. We had chair covers for the wedding party and gold bows for the guests. The bows were tied off to the side and looked so elegant! We had the back wall draped and lit. Beautiful! Quintin even put out gold fabric on the dessert table to make it pretty. We started with passed apps and champange to set the mood and boy did it. Quintin made sure the bride, groom ,and both sets of parents wanted for nothing that night. I walsked into the room that evening and was blown away with how beautiful it all looked. The food is delicious here, and Quentin took such good care of my husband and I at the reception making sure we had enough to eat and bringing us drinks. The night ran very smoothly, and Quentin made sure to check in with us for scheduling to ensure we got to do everything we wanted. years, my sister had her reception at Rose of the Hill just last year before my wedding. I loved it so much that I knew I wanted my reception there of course.
First off, they are a package deal of a location. They cater, service staff, decorate, bar package, and a wedding coordinator. Plus much more! They can accommodate to certain dietary needs such as gluten free meals. We had someone that needed a gluten free meal and they were able to not only make a total gluten free meal, but have it still be close to the food we were serving. On Wedding day the wedding coordinator made sure our guest who needed the gluten free meal was served the correct meal.
The venue is such a good size, from having a small reception to a large reception! There is a plenty of room to dance on their dance floor! The venue is a bought out restaurant that the company uses to host receptions specifically. So they have parking free of charge, and the bar is off to the side from the main dance floor and eating area, so those family members who just want to hang out at the bar can do so.
The service is amazing! Quentin, he is the main wedding coordinator and does an amazing job from prep to the day of! He makes sure the entire reception runs according to schedule and helps along the way but behind the scene. I swear there were times I felt like he was reading my mind when I was in need of him or something, cause he was already right there ready to help! Trust me when going with this location for your wedding, you will not be disappointed.
They decorate, set up, provide a cake knife, they serve cake!, bird cage for cards, tables for escort cards, table linens, chair covers for head table, vases for bouquets of bridal party, great restrooms, included bar, and much more. Honestly this venue is a dream! Not going with this company is a mistake. I will always recommend Rose of the Hill to my friends getting married.

he serves/bartenders were great. Quentin was very easy to work with and made everything seamless. Everything was set up for us and ready to go the day of the wedding and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Quentin took a lot of our stress away from us by handling all the small details. He was there the whole evening making sure that everything went great and made sure that me and my husband were taken care of the whole night. I can't thank Quentin and the entire staff at Rose of the Hill and Favazza's enough. I would definitely recommend Rose of the Hill to any bride and groom who are looking for a great reception venue!!!

ed appetizers, a champagne greeting, bows on the backs of the chairs and draped dance floor lighting. Plus, they took care of the flowers for the reception, which was a huge money saver!
The space is great. Our guests had plenty of room to dance and socialize. It was elegant and beautiful and exactly how I imagined. The bar area is so fun!
The food was amazing. - all of our guests raved about it. They were so helpful with their suggestions on what to try.
Quentin is amazing! He made everything so so easy for us. He was ready and waiting for us when our bus pulled up. He called and texted me to run things by me to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. He is extremely organized, calm and professional. He also has a great sense of humor, which was much appreciated during wedding planning! He delivered drinks to us and to our parents and made sure our every need was taken care of. He literally carried our plates to our table for us and made sure we had enough. Everything was so smooth, and we didn't have a single problem all night. It was all thanks to Quentin and his team.
I want everyone I know to have their reception here because I would love to go back! If you are looking for a wedding venue in St. Louis, Rose of the Hill is the absolute perfect place!

under the sun we could have wanted, Quentin and John would have made it happen for us.
In the price of our package, Rose of the Hill included flower arrangements on the bar and in the hall entrance, and well as flowers on the tables. They included linens, cutlery, plates and glassware too. That made for an even simpler planning experience knowing that that was going to be taken care of for us. They allow you to bring in your own dessert, which we did, so the only outside vendor we needed to bring in was the DJ. The coat room attendant was wonderful, there is ample surface lot parking, and we heard wonderful things about the charming bartender, who throughout the night seemed to remember everyone's drink of choice.
The evening of the reception, Quentin made sure that everything was absolutely seamless. Cocktails at our table were always full and he kept us updated on the time to make sure that we were following the schedule we had shared with him. (But was open to making changes on the fly if we had wanted more time to mingle, do our first dance later in the evening, etc.) He made sure my mom always had a full glass of wine, and he even went as far as making plates for our older guests so they didn't have to walk to the buffet. THAT is service. Seeing someone take notice of my family and their needs without me mentioning it to him really spoke volumes of the Favazza family and type of service they are committed to providing for their customers.
The food, as every other review has mentioned, was phenomenal. We served toasted raviolis and eggplant manicotti as passed appetizer as guests were arriving. For dinner, we served Sicilian Chicken, Italian Beef, Green Beans, Roasted Potatoes, and Penne ala Rosa. The garlic bread, salad and cheese & relish platters were all included in our package. Absolutely everything was delicious.
I can't recommend Rose of the Hill enough. You will not be disappointed in the service you receive.

ooked beautiful with the table settings and the flowers , the head table was so elegant, the dance floor looked great too. The food was incredible ,it was so hard to choose from all the choices offered , you can't go wrong with anything from Favazzas . Quentin was so easy to work with and he thought of everything , he was very accessible . I didn't worry about anything and neither did my daughter .So many things were included , the value is unbelievable . Quentin and Rose of the Hill made my daughters wedding the best day ever .

menu. We were hooked. Even folks who live in St. Louis and the surrounding area do not always get the chance to really experience our city's Italian restaurants. Favazza's was the perfect choice! Our guests had 3 entrees to choose from, salad, open bar, dessert and a fabulous atmosphere on the patio for our evening! The service (Hi Pam and Lisa) was outstanding! Late arriving guests (due to flight problems) were accommodated as well as gluten and nut-free guests! I cannot recommend your venue enough and yes, we'll be back!

As soon as we all arrived, we were seated immediately! The food was delicious, the service was fantastic (our server, Eric, had a great personality and was very accommodating), and we couldn't have been happier! We'll definitely be back, even just for a random meal here and there!

y helpful throughout the entire planning process, but the best part is how great he is on the actually day of your wedding. Quentin checked in with my husband and I SO many times to make sure we were getting everything we needed, he took care of our family and friends incredibly, and if there was a job to be done, Quentin jumped right in there to do it.
THE FOOD. Oh my goodness.... DE-LICIOUS. We decided to do a Family Style dinner and it was an absolute hit. Everyone commented on how quickly the food came out and how nice it was to be able to sit down while still getting to pick and choose what they wanted on their plate. And everyone said that the Penne with creamy tomato sausage and sage was their favorite =)
We would have our reception there all over again. DEFINITELY recommend.

His ability to work with our other vendors and allow us to add some special touches to our reception was a pleasant surprise. The overall experience of booking the facility and planning the reception was without a doubt one of the easiest parts of planning our wedding thanks to the team at Rose of the Hill. On the day of our wedding, Quentin and his staff did a fantastic job of catering to not only my husband and I, but also to our parents and grandparents which really allowed them to fully enjoy themselves. It was so nice to walk into our reception and know that everything was under control. We were able to actually enjoy the reception and didn't have to worry about a thing. Our guests are still raving about the food! To Quentin and everyone at Rose of the Hill - thank you again for making our wedding so memorable!

Quentin was extremely attentive and helpful all during the actual reception Saturday night, and was ready to help with anything to make sure we were happy. We had many guests come up to us during, and after the reception to tell us how nice a time they had and how great the food was. The food items are the same served at Favazza's restaurant, and all prepared with excellence and good taste. We couldn't have had a better time, and will be sure to recommend Rose of the Hill to all of our friends.

I would definitely recommend the Family-Style so that toasts and speeches can be going on while the courses are being served to your guests. Everything went smoothly and darn near perfectly...
Make sure your DJ or band has a good sound system because The Rose is big and spread out-- so that everyone can hear the music as well as any announcements.
I recommend getting the second bar for beer/wine so that the main bar is not congested. We did, and it worked out great!
I also recommend a photo booth because The Rose had a perfect spot up front near the bar for one!
The Rose actually ran out of my preferred beer, and someone ran out immediately to get more. I knew nothing about it until weeks later. That's service!!
The only recommendation for The Rose itself is to have their wait staff (during family-style receptions) make sure all guests know they can ask for more food! Some knew, and some didn't! With that said, though, there was always wait staff around to help with anything and everything...
I feel like I am rambling, so I will end with the fact that Quentin is a blunt, to-the-point, fast talker, and he is absolutely AMAZING! He cares about every detail you care about, makes sure you are having a great time no matter what, and he assures that everything and everyone is running smoothly and doing their jobs... We had the best wedding ever!

We had a live band and were able to dance the night away. All the guests commented on how good the food was and how beautiful the venue was !
Rose of the Hill is not the cheapest, but they are by far the best VALUE in the city of ST. Louis. Phenomenal food, great customer service, and we had a great night! Thank you, Rose of the Hill.
