Roses Run is seriously underrated! They worked with us for over a year and a half! Through every date change, panicked question or tiny detail they were right there to help. Emily is wonderful at what she does and made sure everything went perfectly for our day. The guests could not stop raving about the food and how beautiful the venue is. Our pictures on the golf course turned out so beautiful! I'm a very controlling planner, but I didn't have to worry about a single thing as Emily and Ariel were one step ahead of me the whole time! We had our rehearsal dinner there as well! They even helped me pull off a surprise for the groom. We had the most memorable day all thanks to the team at Roses Run!
Couldn't be happier!
This wedding planning process can be a pain but Roses Run Country Club has the wedding planning staff to get it done!
Meghan and Sarah were so so helpful in this process! Kind and efficient, these ladies know what they're doing! The food was amazing and their coordination of the event went off without a hitch! My husband and I are so grateful for Megan and Sarah's help in planning the food, the cocktail hour and the order of events for the reception! Their help made me less stressed and really made our day so special!
We had such a spectacular experience planning our wedding with Roses Run! Meghan, our event coordinator, was fabulous and made everything so easy! The compliments we received from our guests were outstanding, and the staff was wonderful!! The food was out of this world, and something we are still talking about 2 weeks later.... We cannot thank everyone there enough for making our wedding day such a great experience!!
We had our December wedding at Roses Run Country Club and we couldn’t have pulled it off – in just three months – without the incredible customer service of event coordinator Meghan and chef Janet.
We live out of state but grew up just a mile away from this venue. We wanted to hold our wedding and reception back home, and it was important to us to work with local vendors – not an easy feat when planning a party for nearly 200 from afar. But every step of the way, Meghan and Janet were flexible, patient and accommodating as we brainstormed ideas, made very specific requests and proposed last-minute changes.
The value for the money was fantastic!
Meghan was responsive, professional, friendly, creative and very easy to work with. Her entire focus was on ensuring that our day was exactly as we wanted it, and, with Meghan in charge, we never worried about whether our ceremony and reception would reflect us or whether our needs would be met. She put together a fantastic team, and our guests universally praised the service, the décor and, across the board, the food.
When we first met with Janet to discuss the menu, she said: “I won’t let you down.” She kept that promise – even though we didn’t make it easy on her! We wanted a sit-down meal with four options for entrees. We also had guests with specific dietary restrictions and more than two dozen picky-eating kids attending. At every step, Janet adjusted. Both the food and presentation were wonderful.
Our only real negative feedback has nothing to do with the service or staff. Rather, it has to do with the venue itself. RRCC is located in a great place and has really good space for events of all sizes. But we’ve watched over the years as the venue has suffered from a lack of upkeep, and that’s unfortunate. The site would benefit greatly from a bit of TLC, including replacing the worn, outdated carpeting, fixing cracked windows, improving the locker rooms/staging area and updating the pub area generally. It also would benefit from clear signage from the parking lot to the banquet area so event-goers know how to get to the right place.
Despite some of those venue drawbacks, we had a great experience entirely because of Meghan and Janet.
My mom found Roses Run after we had been searching for receptions venues that were not already booked for an August 1st wedding for a few days. We chose them at first since we were having trouble finding other available venues, but ended up finding it was perfect for our needs. The value is great. We spent about $7,000 for their services for 125 guests. They were also super flexible and let us use the Derby Room which normally has a minimum guest list of I believe 200. There were some issues when there was a staff change but once Meghan settled in and met with us, things were back on track. Meghan (our wedding coordinator at Roses Run) was responsive and made sure everything was perfect for us. There were a couple of times where my family and I had differing opinions and she made sure to always pull me aside and make sure I was getting what I wanted for the wedding (my husband would have been included too but he didn't really care too much about the details). Also, the morning of, my brother and I came to do some last minute decorating and we were sort of in a rush and Meghan took over and ended up doing all the finishing touches for us, which was extremely helpful and a huge relief. She also worked with all the vendors (both before the wedding and day-of) and made sure they knew what to do. The room was also set up for us a day early so we could spend all day setting up and did not have to do it day-of.
As for the actual wedding day, everything was perfect. We ended up doing buffet stations (carving station, salad station, and past station) to make sure our guests had plenty of options and so that we didn't have 125 people waiting in line at one table. Roses Run was great with making this idea become a reality. They also gave us the outdoor patio area so our guests could enjoy some cigars while taking a break from the music. Meghan made sure we were doing fine throughout the wedding and even served us some of our food. We would highly recommend this venue!!!
I had my dream wedding here on Sept 6, 2014. Almost everything was perfect.
Sheena (the wedding coordinator and director) was extremely helpful and very willing to work with us and our concerns. She's a huge sweetheart and really enjoys what she does. Book this venue a year ahead of time, they fill up FAST.
Pictures are done on sight throughout the golf course, which is really awesome and convenient. Pictures come out beautifully, as you and your bridal party go out on golf carts to some scenic golf holes with beautiful bridges, trees, fences and ponds.
I grew up coming to this country club, golfing here, and eating as well (so maybe I'm a little biased). I give the food here a 4.5/5 and I am an extremely picky eater. When choosing a venue, on our top list of requirements was good food, and Roses Run really hit the mark here. Everything went perfectly, and we were on time for dinner, which was another thing I wanted to be sure of. Guests get grumpy if dinner is served at 8, so my hubby and I wanted to be sure dinner was in bellies by 6:30.
Roses Run has two rooms for weddings: The upstairs room, which is very long and is three separate rooms that can be opened into one with removable walls. I, however, had my wedding in the downstairs area called the Derby Room, which seats 250 comfortably, but will stretch to 300. I had a total of 210 at my wedding, and I think this number was absolutely perfect. I also managed to fit a photo booth inside the room. The Derby Room is stunning and very rustic in nature. Beautiful stone fireplace accents a wooden dance floor situated in the corner, and a drop ceiling over guests that raises over dance floor and fireplace area (which is where bridal party sits). I had a large bridal party (8 maids/groomsmen) and this room housed us beautifully.
While not "cheap," Roses Run does all the work. They set-up and clean up. The work done for you is worth the money, in my opinion. The staff cleans everything up at the end of the evening and collects your centerpieces, extra food, and decor for you to pick up at your leisure. This really worked out well for us as we left for our honeymoon the following day. My parents picked up everything the next day. There is a door right next to the gift table for easy loading a the end of your perfect reception.
I have also had several friends/acquaintances who have had both their ceremony AND reception here, and they too, were thrilled with their decision.
If you choose Roses Run for your reception/ and or ceremony, you will not be disappointed.
I did a lot of research regarding my wedding venue and found that Roses Run had one of the best values. They were willing to work with me on my menu as well as the room that we used for the reception. The Derby room has a lot of character with a fireplace in the room (which we put a couch and some chairs near for a "lounge" area) and some cool architecture and lighting. The charm of the room is one of the biggest reasons that I chose Roses Run. Most people appreciated the room and the somewhat intimate setting - we had 100 people all under an "overhang" and placed our head table in the center of everyone so it felt very intimate. We also had a custom menu and I got many compliments on the food. WE had a buffet style, but I can't attest to the set up and ease of access, etc as the head table was served. We were also allowed access to the room prior to the event because no other events were planned that weekend. This was a huge relief as I made and coordinated all of the decorations, etc. I would not have felt comfortable leaving that to the staff. I am lucky that I chose a pretty "dead" date so I could control that. Another benefit to the location is the grandiose look of the building. It is impressive driving up to, and again, different than a hotel. Being a November wedding, it was already dark so the lights were on and it helped set the tone.
The day of the wedding, the room was very cold. I had been in the room before and knew it was cold, but was told it was just because the heat wasn't on and it would be warm the day of. I felt bad because my guests were eating dinner with their coats on, even though the heat was turned up as high as it could go. There were a few times that I felt that I was told one thing but that it wasn't followed through on, but I'm sure that no venue can actually deliver on every single thing.
Moral of the story: it was a beautiful wedding and the reality is, those small things didn't really matter in the grand scheme. For us, we were mostly concerned with how the whole thing felt and that people could see everything we had done to make it special. If I wanted a "hands off" experience, I might not have made this choice as I was not confident in how the environment would have turned out if I wasn't able to get in the room prior. However, the price per head was much more affordable than a place that I would have given me that confidence. It is a great place to have a more formal wedding with a less formal budget.
Things to consider:
Parties of 150 and smaller are typically led to the upstairs room. There are no windows in that room which make it feel small and more like a business meeting hall. The derby room has a completely different feel and was what made me change my mind. If you visit, take a look at all the rooms. It may be worth the extra money/conversation to use that room.
My now husband and I had our wedding and rehearsal dinner at Roses recently, and it was a great experience. We got married outside and then moved into the banquet room downstairs for the reception. The reception hall looked lovely - it was mostly decorated by the time we got there, and all we had to do was set up centerpieces. Sheena was really nice through out the whole process. She tried to be super accommodating and made sure that we got to taste everything we wanted before deciding on our final menu.
Speaking of menu, the food was great. Janet (the cook) did a really, really nice job, even offering to accommodate my cousin, who can't eat wheat, nuts, and basically everything else. Our guests all had good things to say about the food, and were even still talking about how good it was when we all got together the next night. The night before we just had pizza for the rehearsal dinner, and our wedding party enjoyed it so much they ordered some while we were taking pictures there prior to the wedding.
The staff was very sweet - I found out the next day that one of my friends mentioned that she only liked green beans in the vegetable medley, and she said the server stood there and picked out just those to place on her plate. Definitely above and beyond what I'd expect of any service, and she seemed very impressed by their willingness to give her what she preferred.
I really didn't want a large wedding (that was my husbands preference) and Roses, along with all my other vendors (also reviewed on here!) did a great job making wedding planning easy. I like both the people that work here on a personal level and a professional one. I would recommend them to anyone.
Sheena was AWESOME to work with. She took care of every detail and helped me not to stress with vendors. She was easy to meet with and always had an answer for every question we had. The food was great, the venue is beautiful, and it's affordable!
Sheena was great. Fair prices, good food, fantastic service, and wonderful location.
Roses Run was absolutely fantastic! :) Sheena was so incredibily helpful! They had accomodations for us if the weather was bad (ours was not bad weather thankfully). My husband and I are very happy and would definitely recommend it!
Roses Run Country Club was the setting for our Wedding Ceremony and Reception. We chose the country club because of the pricing of the reception and the location. We were able to have a larger 200+ guest wedding for under $10,000. The golf course makes a beautiful background for pictures and the ceremony, and the Derby room is a wonderful space for the reception. Sheena worked with us to make our day perfect. Everything we needed she was able to make possible, the staff was amazingly nice, and willing to do any request. The wait staff during dinner couldnt have been nicer, and they tore down all the decorations at the end of the night. One of the best parts was allowing us to come back Sunday and take only what we wanted home, and disposed of the rest for us. It was wonderful not having to clean up the day after. I am so glad we had the wedding at Roses Run, everything went so smooth and perfect.
The planning meetings were great and I was really expecting fabulous service. I was a little disappointed because the room was very warm, the appetizers and kitchen was behind all night. The ice cream became soup and then it took them an hour to bring out new ice cream. On the other hand, the place is gorgeous and the food was pretty good
Beautiful Facility, great picture ops. Only negative was we had quite a few kids and was charged full price bar for them. However, everything else was perfect. Good food, dinner ran smoothly, older guests were brought their food. Wonderful!
Roses Run was so helpful and made everything easy for us.
roses run was the best decision i made for my wedding last july. jill and her staff were absoutly amazing to work with from start to finish. if you want personalized service you will want to go with roses run!
There was beautiful dark wood trim everywhere and it didn't need much in the way of decorations. In addition the food was amazing!!;My husband and I had a 2 year engagement and during the first nearly 20 months of the engagement we had nothing but trouble with the coordinators. In fact we went through 4 coordinators and no one could confirm what we'd been told in the past. Luckily we kept everything in writing. it was frustrating for the longest time because we would call and email but would not hear back for at least a month. About 3 months before the wedding a new coordinator was hired who was fantastic. She called every week to see how things were going had great ideas and actually replied to our messages. In the end everything worked out but it was very frustrating for most of the time we worked with the venue.
