This beautiful ranch estate, spread over 16 acres of manicured lawns and luscious parkland, offers visitors an experience like no other. Located between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe, the historic, hearty town of Rough & Ready was once part of the pageant of California’s Gold Rush. Originally established in 1849 by a mining company from Wisconsin, the town attempted to secede from the Union in April of 1850. The move, prompted by tax considerations and an effort to circumvent a prohibition on alcohol, proved to be short-lived. The town voted to rejoin the Union in time to celebrate the Fourth of July, that same year. Today, Rough & Ready Vineyards located near Grass Valley offers breathtaking vistas all year round. In the spring, the soft white snow gives way to an explosion of color; in the autumn, the nodding leaves fall gently to their sleep. An elegant gazebo made from Italian marble offers an idyllic setting for your wedding ceremony. The gazebo is ringed by Heritage Oaks which nods their approval as they bear witness to couples’ joy. In the vineyard, your guests can enjoy a delightful dinner or a fun photoshoot. On this estate, peace and beauty are all around you. Rough & Ready Vineyards is proud to host a variety of wedding ceremonies, including secular, religious and civil unions. The estate is also available for commitment and vow-renewal ceremonies, as well as second weddings. The venue can host up to 125 guests. They also offer coordinating, rental equipment, and service staff to help ensure that everything runs smoothly on your special day. The property features a beauty salon and a dressing area for those on-the-day preparations. Accommodation is available at the onsite guesthouse, which is equipped to provide sleeping space for 16 people.
