About this vendor
A revitalized 1928 theater in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, Roulette features a dramatic proscenium and charming balcony, seating for up to 400 (550 standing), unsurpassed acoustics and sightlines, and superb production equipment. The 6,000-square-foot theater is available to rent year round for galas, film shoots, concerts, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, conferences, and more.
Roulette is conveniently located a block away from the Barclays Center and Atlantic Terminal in Downtown Brooklyn.
Our space rental cost for a wedding is $7,700. This fee is for a 12-hour rental and includes set-up and breakdown time. You will have access to our full venue (lobby, ballroom, balcony, kitchen prep space and dressing rooms), all of our backline and in-house supplies including our Steinway D Grand Piano, an Event Liaison, and an Engineer to run all audio-visual equipment (e.g. lighting, live music/DJ, projection screen).
You are welcome to coordinate with any caterer of your liking, although we highly recommend using one of our preferred vendors (listed on our website)! Our small kitchen located next to the ballroom is equipped with an industrial-sized sink and refrigerator. Given its size and location, it's a perfect prep space for caterers.
Our Art Deco theatre was renovated with concerts and performances in mind, so we can accommodate both live and pre-recorded acts. We have a professional-level lighting grid set with movable spotlights and color changing LEDs — we offer 5 complimentary lighting looks to create everything from an elegant cocktail hour to a great dance party! If you would like to project an image or play a video, we're equipped with a 11x20 foot projection screen mounted behind the stage with a corresponding HD projector.
In terms of venue capacity, the ballroom easily accommodates 140-160 guests for a ceremony and either a sit-down dinner or a cocktail style reception.

This absolutely stunning theatre in Brooklyn was in the perfect location for our wedding. Unfortunately, day of we realized that their space just is not quite ready to handle weddi...
ngs. The amazing dressing rooms only had one working outlet, which made getting ready an absolutely nightmare for our hair and make up team. There was no heat the day of our February wedding and it was bitterly cold in the venue. The kitchen space did not have fully working electrical so the ovens kept malfunctioning. Fortunately, our amazing caterer worked with a pizza place across the street to make sure the food was ready and hot on time. Fortunately, none of our guests knew a thing was going wrong so they were able to fully enjoy the beauty of the space. With some facilities upgrades, this space would be perfect. I would not recommend using this venue until those upgrades are made.
We used Roulette for our reception and were very, very pleased. It's always satisfying to have your efforts validated when you've shopped around extensively!

ul and versatile. Great acoustics (as you'd expect from a theater space) and warm lighting that can vary to suit the mood or phase of the party. We didn't end up using the balcony for anything besides stringing lights between the railings, but the designs that face the center of the room really make for an elegant feel. Even the chairs that populate the floor on the night of a performance are classy; we were able to use these with rented round tables and saved money without sacrificing anything (in fact, it was one less thing to pick out!). The atrium area was also important as a holding tank for early-arriving guests and a quiet space apart from the main festivities.
The location:
Convenient by train (just ask Barclays Center), easy to catch a cab nearby, and not the parking nightmare we feared. Obviously plan ahead if a large majority of your guests are driving, but even with an event at Barclays starting at around the same time as our reception we didn't feel overrun and heard no horror stories of searching for spots or lots in the immediate area. The outside of the building is understated and we chose not to decorate the entryway, but the exterior won't detract from the impression you'll make when your guests walk in.
The staff:
Fantastic. We're essentially the first of our friends to get married and had few models to look to for guidance on how to pull off a wedding, so we had lots of questions and our vision for the evening took shape over time. Sarah, Loren, and really everyone we dealt with there were patient, helpful, relaxed yet professional. They were also flexible: we saw many spaces with short lists of preferred/permitted caterers, and Roulette is not among them - we were free to choose our favorite. Working with their staff was perhaps the biggest payoff from choosing Roulette: rather than adding stress as one more vendor to manage, they helped us smooth out the few inevitable wrinkles in our planning as they arose.
And one more thing - if you choose Roulette, you'll be supporting a space for young musicians and performance artists, which is a comfort when parting with a rental fee, even one as reasonable as theirs.
Roulette is a great place to get married -- my husband and I couldn't be happier with the venue. The location, price and built-in glamour of the building are hard to beat. Plus, th...
e venue coordinators were extremely helpful and allowed us to tour the venue ahead of the event as often as needed and ask unlimited questions. I'd advise taking advantage of the professional lighting and sound system — we hired both a DJ and a band to make full use of the stage, first for dancing and then for a concert. You will definitely win cool points from your guests at Roulette!
