If you want to book an event, I suggest that you are certain before you say yes. It only took 4 days before I realized that I didn't want to do business here but it was already too...
late. The owner Alex and his employee Romina took my money and will not return my deposit. In fact, they will not even return my emails nor call me back. Their location is filthy, smelly, and unpainted. Don't believe me? make an appointment at their 107th ave location and see for yourself. They will have you waiting and will not cater to you. I had a family emergency on top of everything and was forced to cancel. Instead they decide they would keep my $500.00 deposit and won't address me. A coward act and astute thing to do when you are heartless and dishonest. If you need proof of anything, I can send you all of my correspondence with this gentleman so you can see for yourself. Ps. Look at the review after mine, I didn’t take the time too and should have. He’s notorious for misleading clients.
Let me tell you about how Royal Ballrooms RUINED our wedding day..
From the beginning dealing with the venue was nothing but problems. We started planning (January 2019) a year be...
fore the wedding date (January 11, 2020). The first problem arose when we requested gold silverware and paid extra money for it to be ordered. After constantly asking them to place the order they finally did right before the wedding. The response we received from Alex (the venue owner)? “It’s too expensive!”. We had paid extra for the silverware!
I had to request the food tasting over 20 times since the planning began. We finally were able to coordinate this with them a little over a month before the wedding. I was astonished when they asked us to just pick it up in TO GO CONTAINERS and take it home to taste! Cold! They did not sit us down or explain what the food options even were. A food presentation is standard especially when your paying thousands of dollars! To top it off the whole order I made from the menu wasn't given complete to us, food was spilling out of the containers and I had to go back twice to pick up the rest of the missing items to try (another example of how careless and unorganized this place is).
On that Saturday I had to call the venue non stop to ask them to allow the vendors access to come inside the ballroom. I tried repeatedly to call Elaine on the venue phone and her cell. She is their front desk girl, the one that sets up parties and is great at giving a fake speech to sell party packages. She not only did not answer but also but also ignored calls and sent me to voicemail. I had to leave my house where I was getting ready with bridesmaids to go to the venue just few hours before the wedding which is UNACCEPTABLE! When I arrived she was busy selling new events to people!
After you sign that contract your event is of ZERO IMPORTANCE to these people!
The BIGGEST MISTAKE was made with the food the night of the wedding. By 10:30 PM the guests still had not been brought the main course. The same employee, Elaine Gonzalez, managed to not give the waitresses the food assignments/instructions. So in the middle of OUR WEDDING I had to sit down and fill out AGAIN what the guests wanted to eat. The food finally came out COLD at 11 P.M. after many guests had left because they were hungry! The cake was not even cut until 12 only because I had to go and ask someone to cut it.
*The bartender served the wrong drinks because he was not told my bar package was upgraded. They only staffed the bar with one bartender for a big wedding. The line got so long that guests ended up going to the liquor store downstairs and buying their own bottles to serve themselves.
*The photo booth company brought the wrong backdrop.
*Water was not being served or refilled by waiters
*The Master of Ceremony cancelled a month before the wedding (the venue never told me) and I was not able to speak with the new MC or coordinate things until 5 days before the wedding.
After the wedding was over I called the owner Alex Bueno and he had the nerve to call me a liar! He told me that I should not have picked 2 choices of food (Standard for a wedding) because that can cause these problems. Yet they charge you for this option regardless. He spoke over me and did not let me finish talking and was sarcastic during the call. He did not even apologize! He and his wife Sandra Bueno were both very rude and careless.
If you don’t want your wedding RUINED avoid Royal Ballrooms!!
When I first got engaged, one of the first things I wanted to get out of the way was the reception venue. I needed to find something that was all inclusive, as I was planning this ...
wedding myself so I didn't want to deal with too many vendors, and at a good price. I called several places but the package at Royal Ballrooms could not be beat. It was also very close to our wedding venue so that was extremely convenient for everyone. After I had booked with them, their management changed and I have to say that it was an excellent transition. They honored everything the previous management had offered me and they were great in preparing all the details of my reception. I didn't have the opportunity to taste the food, which I was a bit hesitant about, but I trusted the manager there and her recommendations and everyone truly enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The only reason I couldn't give this particular venue 5 starts was because the food did take a bit long to get to each table, the cake tasted great but my florist had to fix the presentation of the cake as well as it not being leveled, and I didn't hear from the DJ until 2 days before our wedding. Those last minute details can become stressful for a bride. Other than that, the venue was just fabulous, especially with the new renovations that were done!!!
We the best time ever.
The food was amazing. I chose the menu and they surprised me of how good it came out. The way they set up the banquet was beautiful. They really listened how I wanted the room set ...
up. The bar had everything we wanted. I was able to bring the specific liquor for the groom. I picked orange for my wedding color and they had the perfect one that I wanted. I recommended this vendor.
