My sister in law used Royal, and all I heard about was how amazing it was. So I decided that I would book a tasting with them first before I went to any other bakeries, as I knew it was tried and true. We picked 4 combinations of cakes and icin...gs, and waited. They started making our samples as soon as we chose them, so of course we didn't mind waiting knowing we were getting fresh cake samples! Their tasting portions were so generous, I left full. Once we tasted and chose, we worked on the design. I had a picture that I wanted almost replicated. I was going to get fresh flowers put on it from my florist, thinking it would be cheaper. She suggested sugar flowers cascading down the cake. My then fiance did not know what he wanted for a grooms cake (of course), so she asked a few questions to spark his imagination. As soon as she suggested if he liked what he did for a living (helicopter mechanic), he suggested a tool box with a raised lid, with some tools inside. I was thankful for her help on that, because we got really excited for his cake. When she totaled up the price, we were floored. So reasonable! The day of the wedding came, and as my dad and I were waiting in the reception area before I walked down the aisle in the gardens (Champagne Palace), the owner mentioned the cakes. I forgot about them so we went look, my dad and I were amazed! The picture I gave her for my cake was PERFECTLY executed. It wasn't complicated by any means, but she got the look and detail exactly how I wanted. The sugar flowers, I have no words other than they might as well have been real! So well done, not a single flower with an imperfection. And Chris' cake.. Oh my goodness, a real life toolbox! Hand crafted chocolate wrenches and screwdrivers, drawers with handles and all. It was too cool. His cake was red velvet, and I'm pissed that we only got a slice each. I'm contemplated asking if I can buy just a sheet cake for Christmas, it was amazing!! Our wedding cake was white chocolate cake with strawberry filling, with white chocolate frosting.. Amazing!!! The other layers were hazelnut praline, a New Orleans spin on a classic cake. I totally recommend this family run business!
