Photography is, by our estimation, one of the best ways to artfully capture the true essence and beauty of the individuals and couples we meet. It is our passion and driving purpose to serve our clients through timeless photography.
We have been practicing photography individually for years, and began photographing together in 2015. We are both trained photographers, which means there is no unfamiliar "second shooter" you've never met. We use years of experience and training to capture your love and walk through planing with you!
Together our styles complement each other to best capture your wedding day or personality. Your experience is the most important part of your day, and we will work tirelessly to assure that you will have tangible memories you can treasure forever.

Words cannot express our gratitude and delight for the Byes and the incredible work they did for our wedding.
First and foremost, their photography is incredible! The photos of our families, friends, and ourselves are perfect -- covering all the basics we planned with them and capturing some many special moments. The photos are treasures. They shot both color and black and white, giving us plenty of options when we later decided how to put together our wedding album. And there are also quite a few artistic angles or highlighting subtle moments - that remind us of stills from a classic Hollywood movie (and we are the stars)!
Every step of the way the Byes' generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness helped us manage a few complications with our wedding. First we lived outside Minnesota and so most of our meetings with them had to be conducted online or over the phone. In addition, we had to push our wedding out a year due to the pandemic. They were extremely accommodating with the rescheduling and were so organized that planning from afar was a breeze.
The Byes have wedding photography down to a science as well as an art. They coached us and prompted us with our poses, they expertly wrangled our friends and families on our photo list, and they helped us put together our schedule for the day that would provide ample time for all the photos we wanted to get taken. They went truly above and beyond. Just a few examples, they did the details shots in advance so we have beautiful photos of the invitations, rings, shoes, etc.; they creatively re-arranged plans around the weather (we had a rainy day) making sure they got all the photos we needed; and Anna even had a few spare safety pins in her camera bag for last minute mending! They also have a joyful and infectious energy and made everything step of the planning and day-of fun and stress-free.
The Byes gave us everything we asked for and so much more. They are worth every penny. You won't be disappointed!
Matt and Anna were the sweetest couple to work with. When we originally met with them they were very attentive to our needs and made sure to incorporate the photos that were important to us. When Covid hit, they were incredibly flexible and supportive as we tried to navigate what we should do. They were willing to roll with the endless punches that came our way and helped us navigate through uncertain times.
A big selling point was when they told us that they were good about finding moments for the bride and groom to have time to themselves and they were efficient at getting family photos captured. And they delivered. Anna and Matt checked in with us a few times throughout the day when it looked like we needed a moment to ourselves, which was incredibly helpful for two introverts. They made us feel quite comfortable and truly paid attention to our needs on the day of.
Matt and Anna did a great job making Carter and I feel very special on our wedding day. Even though both Carter and I were sick, they helped us look radiant throughout the day to capture every special moment! We even had frozen ice in the morning of our wedding and rain throughout the day, but it did not deter Matt and Anna from getting amazing shots! Thank you!
I don't even know where to begin with sharing how amazing Matt and Anna are. They are truly the best of the best! My husband and I are so glad we chose them to photograph our engagement and wedding. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and the pictures turned out amazing - they really know how to capture authentic emotion. They are also incredibly organized and run a tight ship. Our wedding day went so smoothly and everything was on schedule, all thanks to our photographers! Their organization and assertiveness took away a lot of my wedding day nerves because I really didn't have to think about anything. The fact that they are hybrid (digital and film) is really unique as well. They are the coolest, end of story.
Oh my gosh, Matt and Anna are actually the best. My fiancé and I have become friends with them through booking them and spending time with them during our engagement/wedding day photo sessions. They are friendly, really flexible and love being creative and trying new things! I had an idea for a photo I wanted in my head, I described it a little to them, and they were totally on board for doing it! I have recommended them to so many of my friends who are getting married because I think that they are so good at what they do and they make it really easy! Never once did I feel too awkward and shy in front of the camera.
Matt and Anna did an awesome job shooting our wedding! Having two photographs (not one photographer and an assistant) made it so much easier with one with my wife and bridesmaids and one with me and my groomsmen. The photos all came out great. They made a great addition to the wedding and helped capture all the emotions and fun through their work.
You won’t be sorry you chose to work with Royal Hart Studio. Matt and Anna do a phenomenal job of tailoring their photos to a couples’ unique style and capturing the individual feel of each couple. We gave them a few words to describe what we were going for on our wedding day, and they combined those words with who we naturally are together to capture moments rather than awkwardly manufacture them. They were also very discreet and not at all distracting during the ceremony, yet still managed to capture the significant moments with style. Matt and Anna are both individually fantastic photographers, but the combo of the two is dynamite! Huge thank you again to Matt and Anna for their work—we couldn’t be happier with our pictures!
There are so many wonderful things to say about Royal Hart Studio. We were really looking for authentic photography that exemplified our personalities well and allowed us to be ourselves while shooting. Anna and Matt were amazing photographers and worked with what we wanted in photography. They were organized and helpful in the corralling of our family members for photos and we appreciate the hard work they put in to get us amazing photos in a timely manner. We love everything about who they are as people and what they do for the photography in the Minneapolis area!
