Rudy's Pastry Shop

Rudy's was provided as one of two bakeries as part of my package with Stone House. I'm so glad I picked Rudy's! The planning, tasting and design process is straight-forward and low stress. Do be prepared for the take-home cake samples as mentioned in other reviews! The cake arrived on my wedding day on time, looked beautiful and was delicious. My guests have since commented that it was THE BEST wedding cake they have ever had. We can't wait to continue our relationship with Rudy's for future birthdays and celebrations.

Rudy’s is so delicious but most importantly FRESH! We tried them for the first time at the venues food tasting. We then went in person to try more flavors and they made us 3 full cakes to try and then take home! We had so much cake lol. Everything was so delicious we ended up picking two flavors for the alternating tiers. Strawberries and vanilla cream and the other was chocolate with chocolate mouse. It was even delicious the day of as well!!

First of all, for our tasting we chose 3 fillings and 3 cake flavors and were given 3 full 6 in cakes to sample and then take home. That alone was amazing because we tasted fresh cake, not freezer burnt samples. Do not let Rudy’s commercial appearance deter you because their cake is delicious. If you hate overly sweet frosting you will love their buttercream. We had a four tier cake and cose chocolate cake, vanilla cake, chocolate pudding filling and bavarian cream with fresh strawberries as our flavors. Guests loved it and we have been enjoying the leftovers for days!

Highly recommend. They made our tasting such a fun experience and they sent us home with so much cake that our whole family got to taste. They are a pleasure to work with and our cake was gorgeous. We did a semi naked cake and incorporated some flowers on it. We showed them a few photos of what we wanted and they nailed it. Also, the chocolate fudge filling is to die for.

Best cake ever!!! It was the most delicious cake we have ever tasted and we got so many compliments from guests! Rudy’s was so great to work with! They made every step easy and fun- from the tasting, to the design, to the delivery. We chose a chocolate devils food cake with strawberry and Bavarian cream filling- the outside was white buttercream that we topped with fresh flowers. It looked so elegant and perfect for our special day! We highly recommend Rudy’s and would love to use them again for other events in the future!

Our venue gave us 3 different options for bakeries that we could choose from. Rudy’s was by far the best. We sampled 3 different cakes, and by cakes I mean cakes! They gave us 7” round cakes to sample all were delicious but we went with the devils food cake with chocolate mousse. Our guests loved it and we are definitely looking forward to eating it again a year from now!

Rudy's Pastry Shop made our cake selection easy, simple and delicious! We chose a Hazelnut cake with Chocolate Fudge filling and it was amazing. They have tons of unique options and we really enjoyed our tasting. Rudy's also decorated our cake EXACTLY how we asked them to and we could not have been happier. We also intend to work with Rudy's again. Couples - don't waste your precious time in the wedding planning process tasting at multiple places. Keep it simple and just go with Rudy's!

Our venue gave us two bakeries to choose from and we set up tastings at both. While the other is much more well known, we loved Rudy's and they were fantastic to work with! During our tasting, we got to take home three cakes - one for each layer we tried. For our wedding cake, we were allowed to pick two different combinations (two layers of one flavor and two layers of another flavor). We got many compliments on how great it tasted. Definitely recommend!

We used Rudy's pastry shop for both my bridal shower and our wedding. Both were very beautifully made cakes that were also delicious. I am not much of a sweets person but I had so many people after the wedding tell me how much they loved our cake, a few of them actually went here for their birthday cakes. My only complaint would be if you need your cake delivered, give them an earlier time then when you actually want the cake. For each event they came later then we requested. So just to be safe, make it earlier! Other than that, they are fantastic.

We worked with Rudy's through our wedding venue (The Stone House at Stirling Ridge), and they were awesome! We had the tasting early, and all the cakes we tasted were incredible. They worked with us to replicate a design we saw online, and the cake turned out perfectly! We had the florist add flowers instead of a topper, and the cake looked and tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend!

We had our choice of two vendors and we went to Rudy's first based on the reviews of it feeling more homey and personal and we are so happy we came!!!! The cake and flavor offerings were great- we had a hard time narrowing it down to three cakes/three fillings for the tasting. as other reviewers mentioned, they bake you three small cakes to try and they were ALL AMAZING. we ended up with funfetti cake/ fudge filling. it was so fun and not too sweet. They were great to work with for the cake design- totally got our vibe and our dislike of fondant. the cake was DELICIOUS and we can't wait to eat the top tier next year!

My husband and I had some unusual requests for our wedding cake and we're so happy we chose Rudy's. Sergio was AMAZING! He spent so much time during our cake tasting to understand what we wanted and to make sure he made our vision come to life. Everyone raved about the cake, from looks to taste, it was perfect. We are so happy with our decision and hope everyone chooses Rudy's, they're the best!

We chose Rudy’s because they were one of the options through our catering hall. This turned out to be a big mistake. I called months prior to order my cake, as I was instructed to do. A few days before my wedding I had a gut feeling telling me to follow up with them, so I called to make sure everything was in line for my wedding cake. When I told them the date, the person on the other end of the line said oh yes Amanda, right? And I said no... Sara. She then seemed very flustered and put me on hold for a long time before returning to assure me she found my order. I am not sure what would have happened if we I had not called. After this I was sure everything would be fine, but I was wrong. On my wedding day I entered the room to see a cake that did not look like the one I ordered. I figured it was just a misunderstanding. When my cake was cut, though, I realized that I had received the wrong cake entirely. I ordered a funfetti cake (who doesn’t love a funfetti cake?) but I received someone else’s carrot cake. This was pretty disappointing considering all people seem to fall into one of two categories when it comes to carrot cake- love it or absolutely hate it. I was so excited about my funfetti cake and now I feel like I have to explain myself to all my carrot cake hating guests- I swear I didn’t order that!

My venue allowed me to choose between Rudy's and another cake baker (probably the largest one in NJ because ALL of my friends had cakes from this place...) Since we didn't have great memories of the other cake, we set up a tasting with Rudy's first and are SO HAPPY that we did. The tasting was so much fun and there was a ton of leftover cake to take home afterwards (plus some delicious chocolate covered cheesecake bites!) We ultimately picked funfetti cake with cannoli cream filling and hazelnut cake with chocolate mousse filling. The people at Rudy's also indulged us by designing an Up-inspired cake (the Pixar movie) that wasn't too kitschy- it was absolutely beautiful and not over-the-top (it was a subtle nod to the movie but still look very much like a wedding cake and not a birthday cake.) On our actual wedding day, we were so thrilled that the cake was just as delicious as the cake at the tasting and we got SO MANY compliments on our cake. TLDR: Rudy's is delicious, is fun to work with if you don't want to default to whatever style cake is trending on Pinterest (though I'm sure they do a great job if you do!) AND it actually tastes delicious (not just "for wedding cake," it's just good cake.) Trifecta!

Rudy's was one of our recommended vendors from our venue. The tasting was great and we were able to bring home three full cakes after the trial which was awesome. However, I had sent pictures of what the cake was to look like and on the wedding day they did not do any of it. It was a white cake missing flowers. Luckily our Florist put greenery on it, but if they hadn't our cake would have just been bare. Tasted great but unhappy with it not having a single flower on it.

Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience with Rudy's. They are not very responsive and it was difficult to set up a time for the tasting. The tasting went great and I felt very good leaving, but the day of did not go as expected. Although I provided a clear picture of a plain white cake with absolutely nothing on it, the cake arrived with a ring of floral piping in the middle of each layer. I am not sure how this got confused, but when the venue reached out to them, they explained they had a picture and I was wrong. I am unsure if they mixed my photo with someone else's as mine was absolutely plain. I did request that someone come back and fix the cake, which they did and I was appreciative. The cake did taste delicious; however, when I reached out after the wedding to try to see where the mishap was, they did not respond. I even went back on the same email with the original photo and they refused to admit any wrong-doing or even respond.

The cake was included with my reception hall along with two other options and Rudy's tasted the best so I went with them. The cake tasting and cake itself were good... however... despite my countless calls and emails to their team, which went un-responded until 3 days before my wedding date, they finally assured me they could create my cake. Upon it being brought out to me AT MY WEDDING, I was told it had MELTED. The fondant had apparently just melted off so I got some basic white plain cake. I was needless to say extremely upset. Proceed with caution.

If you want an AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL that also tastes DELICIOUS then look no further than Rudy’s! It’s been months since my bridal shower and I still get compliments and think about the beautiful cake they made for me! They also made a specialty groomsman cake that came out perfectly! Highly highly highly recommend Rudy’s!

Our venue gave us the option of two bakeries for our wedding cake. Originally we tried the larger and arguably more well-known of the two and were disappointed. They treated us as just another cake to make for just another venue. Their cakes were good but nothing special. We contacted our planner at the venue and she suggested that we try out Rudy's. We were so glad we did! I called about getting an appointment for a tasting and the woman that answered the phone was sweet and helpful. She walked me through where to find their flavor options on the website and told me to shoot her an e-mail of the three combinations that we wanted to try. When we got to the bakery Sergio brought in the 6inch cakes! He served us each up a piece and talked to us about what we were looking for. He made some suggestions and made sure that we got exactly what we wanted. In the end we decided on Funfetti with chocolate fudge and chocolate chip with cannoli filling as our two flavor combinations. Sergio also asked me to weigh our cake topper so that he made sure that the cake could hold its weight. We left feeling excited about our cake knowing that Sergio and the staff were passionate about giving each of their customers exactly what they want. Side Note: My husband's favorite cake is red velvet and he said that their red velvet with cream cheese filling was the best he ever had but the cannoli filling beat that for him!

We got a marble cake with fudge filling. The cake was delicious and Rudy's was able to make the perfect cake for our winter wedding theme: Yeti. They made two adorable yeti cake toppers out of fondant and textured the cake so it looked like snow with big snowflake patters on each layer. I highly recommend Rudy's for a beautiful and delicious cake! Can't wait to it it again for our anniversary!

Our venue let us select a wedding cake from two vendors. Rudy's was the superior choice in all respects, the cake tasted great, they accommodated the design I wanted at no additional price, and they were very kind.

I ordered my cake from Rudy’s because of the reviews I actually read on Theknot.com. We had a cake tasting and all the cakes we had tasted amazing not overly sweet and super fresh. The delivered my cake to my reception and the cost was amazing. I did have one small issue they forgot to add a detail that I had requested(very small detail) but would’ve made it difference for me. But it tasted sooo good and got so many compliments that if I had to choose my cake all over again I would continue to order it from here. Ps: you don’t have to save the top tier for your 1 year anniversary. Rudy’s give you a mini cake for you to celebrate your first year of marriage.

Rudy's Pastry Shop has always been our go to for catering dessert needs because of their delicious and beautiful creations. Their wedding cakes were no different. Our cake was absolutely perfect. It looked exactly how we had imagined and tasted better than any wedding cake we have had before. I'd recommend Rudy's Pastry Shop one thousand times over!

I cannot rave about Rudy's Pastry Shop enough! Our wedding was last week, and not only was our cake beautiful, but it was incredibly delicious as well! (We went with chocolate cake with strawberry/banana filling & vanilla with canoli filling). We got married at the Stone House, and Rudy's was one of two vendors that we were given to chose from. After having a horrible experience with the other bakery, Rudy's really came through for us. The tasting was amazing- they sent us home with LOTS of yummy cake to share with our families- AND they found a way for us to have a vegan grooms cake so that my husband could eat cake with me on our wedding day :) Their customer service is fantastic, and I could not speak higher of them! THANK YOU RUDY'S!!

We couldn't be happier with Rudy's. We had a choice with Stone House between here and Palermo's and I'm very happy I went with Rudy's. They cake was delicious and beautiful and the staff was super nice. John took the time to run through different cake options and baked us three mini cakes to choose from. We had no issues with delivery or what we order. Thank you so much John, Robert, and the rest of the staff!

Our venue recommended two cake bakers and we're so happy we went with Rudy's. All of the cakes we tried during our tasting were delicious. We decided on something a little more unique and went with a carrot cake and cannoli filling. It was so good a friend of ours decided to get the same combination for her wedding cake. We brought in a few pictures of what we wanted and Sergio helped us decide what would look best. On the day of the wedding our cake looked exactly how we imagined. We would definitely recommend Rudy's.

Been meaning to write this review for a while now! Rudy's is wonderful. Everyone we met were super nice and helpful. I showed them a few designs and they explained how they would create each one in detail. The end result was EXACTLY what we wanted. It looked just like the picture and was perfection! Tasted amazing too! We had 3 different cake flavors/fillings. And the truly amazing part – the night of our wedding, our cake was destroyed. Rudy's created an exact replica of the top for us to have on our 1-year anniversary. I was so grateful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I used Rudy's bakery for my wedding cake and it turned out absolutely fabulous! The day we met to have our tasting and design the cake was one of he most fun wedding tasks that we had to complete. They offered to make three custom cake samples for us but we were so torn that we inquired about their opinion on four different flavors and they ended up making all of them for us, no questions asked. The very unique cake design that we found on Pinterest and brought in with us for inspiration actually turned out to be a cake from Rudy's! What are the chances!? We knew right then that we could totally trust them without any worries. After the tasting we couldn't choose between two flavors of cake so they offered to alternate the flavors between tiers which was such a good idea, our guests were really liking being able to have two different slices! The cake turned out beautiful and I am still getting compliments about it a month after the wedding. Next time I need a cake I know who I will be using!

Sergio at Rudy's Pastry Shop was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our tasting was so personable and you could tell he truly loved his job. After a pretty vague description and picture, the cake he delivered to us on our wedding day could not have been any more perfect or delicious. He is truly awesome at his job because you can tell he does it with love! Thank you Sergio!

Rudy's cakes are amazing! We had our wedding at the Stone House and they recommended two cake vendors and we're so happy we went with Rudy's! We ordered a strawberry shortcake for our summer wedding, naked style (which doesn't have any icing on it, just a little powdered sugar). We gave them a few inspiration images and they nailed it. It was both gorgeous and delicious! All of our guests raved about it. I'll be going back here for anniversary cakes for many, many years to come!!

We got married on 9/20 at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge and were lucky enough to have two bakeries to choose our wedding cake from...we ended up going with Rudy's because I read their cake tasting experience was far better...Cake tasting was so fun... we were able to choose 3 cakes/fillings and couldn't believe they then baked us 3 separate 6" cakes that we tasted in a private room with the pastry chef plus they then allowed us to take home the leftovers!! The pastry chef was so sweet and attentive, he sat with us and listened to our thoughts. In the end, all 3 were absolutely delicious but we went with a chocolate chip cake and cannoli filling that was to die for! On our wedding day, the cake tasted just as amazing as it looked which was exactly as the picture I sent them. Guests who said they don't even like wedding cake were raving at how great our cake tasted and everyone's plates were cleaned! I highly recommend Rudy's Pastry Shop!! Amazing cake, can't wait to order more in the future.

We love Rudy's!! They made our wedding cake and an amazing groom's cake for my husband. Everything tasted great, was super fresh, and Chris was so easy to work with. They basically created whatever we wanted. We came upon Rudy's after going to another bakery's cake tasting, and that one did not even come close to the experience we had at Rudy's. We will definitely be using Rudy's again for any future cake needs.

We were lucky enough that our venue included a cake from Rudy's in our contract. Our wedding cake was one of the most delicious cakes I've had at a wedding (and I'm a chef)! Chris and the rest of the staff at Rudy's were very laid back and easy to work with, and made our tasting one of the best parts of our wedding planning process. We walked away from it with 3 6-inch cakes to share with our friends and family--I mean, these guys went all out for just our tasting! The cake was not only delicious, but it turned out incredibly beautiful too. They were able to replicate a picture that I sent over of a fondant cake completely in buttercream, with such precision and beauty. I loved working with them so much that I decided to also order a groom's cake for my husband through Rudy's. They made the whole process super easy and helped keep my secret under wraps, and my husband was thrilled with the result. Next time we need a cake catered, I know where I'll be going!

The cake was beautiful and delicious. Tthis bakery works in conjunction with the Stone House in Warren and our custom cake was included with our wedding package. They did a wonderful job helping us figure out what flavors and style we wanted and designed a simple elegant cake with pops of color and accents that was enjoyable to eat as well as look at.

My husband and I went into Rudy's looking for something funky and different and Rudy's delivered! We loved working with Peggy and everyone at our wedding raved about the cake!

I'm not one to review places, but the amount of people who complimented my wife and I on our wedding cake made me give Rudy's and outstanding review. Our cake was fantastic. It looked unbelievable and tasted great. We ordered a 4 tier red velvet with white fondant and these little silver decorations. It was fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone.

The Stone House gave us a few choices of bakeries to use, and after 2 tastings we decided Rudy's was by far the best. My cake was very important to me, I wanted it to look amazing and it did. We did 5 tiers red velvet cake with a fondant decoration. It looked and tasted amazing. We chose Rudy's over other high name bakeries and they did not disappoint. They were amazing.

Our cake was included in the venue cost so I wasn't sure what I'd get. The atmosphere wasn't great at Rudys (a back office), but the cakes were wonderful. The portions giving at the tasting were generous and we loved the freshness of the flavors. I was very happy. The design was good. They executed exactly what I asked for. I did want to see some sketch samples first, but all in all - I liked the result & it looked great.

Rudy's was the preferred vendor for my venue and we sat down for a lovely tasting and converstaion regarding style & design 2 months prior to my wedding. Upfront they were friendly and receptive. Post meeting, communication was extremely difficult. Then, as I walked into the reception room on my wedding day, my fondant cake was melted and buldging from the sides - I actually have no pictures of it perfect or close to it. I chose fondant so it would be clean and crisp with a while modern flower as the highlight - the flower fell off before I even was able to cut the cake. (My wedding was in an air-conditioned room) Major disappointment.

We got our cake from Rudy's because our wedding venue uses them exclusively. The cake was very good and looked nice when it arrived. The tasting was fine - they had three cakes prepared to taste and gave us the leftovers to take home. The place is no-frills and is not a bakery you would go to see and buy stuff. I liked them and appreciated their service.

As I lived in DC, Rudy's sent us three cakes that we picked overnight delivery so that we could try them out. They then made the cake that I found happen with only a few days notice. It was perfect and beautiful and tasted amazing!!

I loved everything about my cake he gave me everything I wanted and it tasted amazing four tiers of fondont covered layers big enough to feed 150 people and I got the grooms cake from him too total for both cakes and delivery $510.00 I got a quote from another bakery for just the wedding cake without delivery or tax $1 400.00 and it didn't taste as good
