very special day. She was extremely responsive, accommodating, and kind. She helped keep the stress of wedding planning to a minimum. All of the food was made in house, and it turned out great! On top of that, the facility including the golf course is beautiful. We would recommend getting married here.

rnover rate in their staff (but maybe this was attributed to the pandemic?). We sent them multiple Excel spreadsheets with our timeline and ideal set up for the ceremony and reception, but some things were missed. I would think that would be fine if they said "hey this isn't possible for X reason, just so you know" or offered an alternative, but instead it came across like they ignored my day-of requests. During the event, they had great servers that were attentive. They weren't always careful with our decorations - our cake topper was broken when they removed it from the box (it was not broken when it arrived), but they did glue it back together. It was just a bit of a bummer since we had noticed it after our photographer took photos of the cake (with my hand missing). More attention to detail would have been appreciated. Overall, the cost was worth it and we have beautiful pictures and memories from there. And if you are looking for a venue in the winter that isn't pitch black (I've been to so many weddings where everything is dark the whole time), I was thoroughly impressed by the fact that the reception venue was so well lit. I'd recommend this place if you don't care about all of the details as much.

thout responses to our questions, and quite often when we got a response, our question hadn't been answered. If you overlook the added stress from that though, the space was beautiful, the food was fantastic, and everyone had a great time.

. We had to cut the guest list to 1/5th of what it was originally. Which was fine, it sucked, but it was fine. I show up to the venue fully ready to see all my wedding crafts and ideas brought to life but I get there with a panicked friend asking me where things go- she was kind enough to get there early and HELP put stuff where they need to go. The coordinator who I had spoken to about where all of my things needed to go was nowhere to be found. So I’m in my wedding dress telling people where my stuff was supposed to be. Signs, picture frames, guest book, gift table, etc. The mirrors and votive vases I had asked for were not placed nor were they ever placed on the tables. I had to get outside to take the bridal party pictures which now were cut short due to me doing the job of a coordinator ON MY WEDDING DAY. There were no golf carts provided to my bridal party on this 95° day to go take pictures (these were promised). I was walking 1/2 a mile in my wedding dress, one of my bridesmaids was 9 months pregnant. It was an absolute nightmare but- once again, we made the best of it and moved on. I get back to the venue after the pictures & still no coordinator to be found- I’m standing at the top of the stairs telling guests where to go as I’m bawling. I was unbelievably frustrated and devastated at how everything was panning out. The dinner itself was an awful experience start to finish. Started with loaded potato soup which I was SO EXCITED about- literally tasted like a cigar- they must’ve burnt something in it and served it anyway. I didn’t even eat the tiny mediocre looking salad which came after the soup because it looked nothing like the beautiful Mediterranean salad I had tried at our tasting. The entree was delicious but it seemed as though they didn’t make enough mashed potatoes since there was only about a tablespoon smeared onto the plate. To end our meal, we had donuts from the Orland Bakery (delicious!) and I had specifically told the coordinator we wanted coffee service/coffee bar- neither of these happened. As my husband and I cut our cake- BOOM a coordinator shows up right next to us and asks us if we need help. Is this guy serious? Has he never been to a wedding before? Ruffled Feathers- thank you for giving me such a terrible experience to top off the nightmare of being a Covid bride. We will have SO many stories to tell.

events. Our day was perfect and we have great memories from it! There are a few glitches that I feel could improve. The venue is absolutely beautiful! On looks alone this could easily be 5 stars. We were drawn to this venue because it’s a square and really not a bad seat for guests. Also the bar is right in the ball room as well, so our guests could constantly be on the dance floor. It’s well lit and the natural light is out of this world. Their food is amazing! We did get a lot of compliments for guests on food from the apps to the sweets. The food service was slow. There was a huge lag between the salad and main entree. It was a large enough lag that my husband and I were trying to determine whether we go up and great tables first or wait for our food. We decided to go great our guests. Even after going to each of our tables, I noticed guests just getting their main dishes (close to 45mins-hour after our service started). I don’t know if the kitchen was slower that night or if it’s normal. We also had some issues with our vendor meals, which it was never communicated to us that they are fed after the guests. If we would have known that we would have put them in the main room with all of us and had them fed at the same time. Our dances and everything for set even further back because of our vendors being fed so late. I actually had to go find someone to get their meals for them, which I was embarrassed I had to do because I paid for my vendors to eat and expected them to be treated as well as myself and my husband. The communication from the venue is minimal. We had switched coordinators about 4 different times. As a Covid wedding that was postponed I understand that a lot has changed, but it seemed that our contract never got passed along. I ended having to email a few times or call to get information and then would get notified that we had someone else handling our wedding. It was difficult to deal with at times. Our tasting was scheduled late due to myself emailing a coordinator who I did not know what no longer there. You just have to take the initiative with communication and keep it consistent. Overall this venue I would highly recommend!! The bar tenders and servers were all amazing and fun! They were out dancing with us by the end of the night, which he loved! Elysa was around throughout the night and helped us pack up at the end. She was beyond helpful with setting up and cleaning up. I truly hope that they can get consistent coordinators because this could easily be a top venue!

t with Orland Bakery. The bartenders and waiters were great and the night went smooth. We had our cocktail hour in the bar area and also on the outdoor terrace. We were also able to take pictures out on the golf course with our photographer. Giving 4/5 stars due to our assigned wedding coordinator changing a few times throughout the planning process which made for minor communication issues.

e the look and vibe of the inside. Everything was picture perfect! Overall, we had a good experience. However, we were disappointed in the scheduling of a luncheon event prior to our wedding. We were told the luncheon would end at 2PM. There were still many guests from that event at the venue at 3:30PM when our ceremony started at 4:30PM. When we were trying to get our first look pictures and bridal party pictures, there were random people walking around watching us, kids running around, people smoking next to us, and random people taking pictures of us (we were limited on photo locations due to it being winter). We asked the venue coordinator to nicely ask the other guests to steer clear of our pictures and possibly wrap up the event and she refused. So, there were still guests there while our guests were arriving which was frustrating. We also had hired a separate day-of-coordinator who was a godsend. I’m not confident my “vision” would have come to life with just the venue staff.. they acted inconvenienced at times. Overall, we had the best night of our life in a beautiful venue with all of our favorite people. :)

stomize it to your vision Unfortunately I cannot give the venue more than 2 stars due to the following cons: - For some reason, the wedding coordinator made multiple promises the venue didn’t keep. She said there was an event scheduled til 2PM that would be cleaned up by 3, and that she would close off the bar area for our “first look” around 2:45. Our contract also stated that there would be no other events scheduled at the same time as our wedding. None of these things ended up being true. A lot of strangers were intruding on our first personal moments before our wedding when we got to the venue around 2:45 with our photographer and videographer. That wedding shower was still hanging around and not cleared out. The bar area wasn’t closed off and patrons sat at the bar as we were trying to capture our first look. There was also 2 tables of 6 people each doing their wedding tastings in the bar area. The excitement from the wedding party caused strangers to follow us around the venue as we tried to take pictures and capture moments without random people in our photos/video. Also, there was a birthday party downstairs at the same time as our wedding. Those guests also wandered around and were peeking in on our event. In addition to feeling intruded on and lied to, someone stole $100 from my mom’s purse in the bridal suite, which is located above the staircase that led down to the birthday party - During pre-ceremony photos, a staff member literally started vacuuming right outside the train of my dress and directly in the frame of the photo. Our photographer calmly asked her to stop and come back in a few minutes, to which the girl very rudely said, “No,” and kept vacuuming. We left and continued pictures elsewhere. I was appalled. - Tricky wording in contract. We paid to rent the space for 6hrs plus a fee for getting married at the gazebo. Due to bad weather, our ceremony was moved inside where our reception was also held. The venue wouldn’t waive the fee for the gazebo, so we paid to rent same space twice. Again, all this is on the event management and not the servers/bartenders who were fantastic. The end-to-end experience was grossly underwhelming. They should make brides feel special. Most of us are only doing this once in our lives. Our florist got married there and tried to warn me about how the venue handled her wedding earlier in the year, but I’d already signed the contract.

looking at a variety of venues from halls with caterers to elaborate mansions, we went with Ruffled Feathers based on their package pricing and the very personalized attention we received. Kathy is so wonderful and was extremely helpful when we had to make a wedding date change due to a family medical issue. She worked with us on not only our costs, but what would be the best option to give us the most for our money. We did start with a wedding coordinator that left, but we worked with Brianna for the last few months prior. She is really willing to go above and beyond to help make the day perfect. I appreciated that I could drop my centerpieces and decor off and they put them out. I really did not have to worry about much with respect to them. The package included our wedding cake through Orland Park Bakery and it was beautifully decorated to our specifications. The food and service from our ceremony through the end of our reception was impeccable. Both Brianna and Kathy communicated and were responsive to our inquiries. I would highly recommend this venue for the beautiful backdrop, the value for what you receive, the quality of the food, and the invaluable service received.

Rather than accept responsibility and graciously apologize– Ruffled Feathers management instead made excuses trying to justify their staff’s short comings in preparing and serving a hot meal and for our guests. Instead of showing my son and his wife some compassion and understanding – they chose to instead to be insensitive and arrogant. A wedding is a huge event and expense in most people’s lives! There’s has been overshadowed by the lack of professionalism shown by the management at Ruffled Feathers. I leave this to KARMA to fix.

The venue alone is so modern and gives such a unique twist to the everyday banquet hall from the terrace room which has a wall of windows with gorgeous views, geometric lights, "Chicago" wall, large bridal suite, "stone" bar, gazebo, balconies, the banquet hall covered in windows which brings so much light in, and much much more! It's also a one wedding venue which made it all the more fun for guests to roam! From appetizers through the "4th Meal" the staff put us first. So many of our guests could not stop talking about how full they were but also how they wanted to keep eating because the food was "absolutely delicious." On top of all this greatness we were told by guests how nice, friendly, and accommodating the staff and servers were to them :) The staff was absolutely amazing! They all made sure to put us (the bride and groom) first! Brianna helped every step of the way from us entering the venue to our departure! Every time he or I were at the bar a drink was already being made for us without hesitation. For last call the bartenders came up to us and handed us a drink. The staff was absolutely flawless. The entire staff knew how crazy weddings can get and how engulfed the bride and groom become with guests and the entire night that they really took care of us and we cannot thank Ruffled Feathers and the ENTIRE staff for making our night so perfect for not only us but for making our guests rave about how awesome the staff and venue is. Thank you so so much :)

personalized and beautiful. We had so many compliments about the venue including the wait staff, the decorations (venue set up), the bar and the food especially. We chose the chicken Dijon & prime rib option and I have never been to a wedding that had such healthy portions. You get a bang for your buck here! Jaclyn and Kathy were pleasant to work with and were very accommodating. They set the venue up for you so you don't have to worry about being in 10 different places at once. They even let you come back the next day to pick up your belongings that you left behind. All in all, my husband and I would do it all over again at RF. Great food, bartenders, wait staff, chef, venue, price... I can go on. Do not hesitate to book your party here, it is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you RF for everything you have done to make this day so perfect!

The guests did not stop raving about the food (Filet mignon & chicken piccata). Also the back of the venue is the perfect place to get photos taken!! I would highly recommend having your wedding here.

h for a few weeks and she failed to mention my date got booked during that exchange. Every other venue would give you a heads up, "hey did you want to book before I release this date?!" Then I called her to see if I had miscommunicated something....and when I asked her why would she have me believe my date is still available, why wouldn't you tell me, it got booked!? She goes, "Oh I don't do that!" I am appalled. You do not call someone you have been emailing? To tell them that date is no longer available? My best friends both threw events there and they did warn me about Kathy, and that she missed a lot of details for their events, I should have listened. Getting the date wrong is kind of a big deal but I would have changed it, had she been nicer/apologetic on the phone but instead she blamed me and said we are so busy we get booked everyday. That is great, but maybe next time just give folks a heads up if their date gets booked, when they think it's still available.

was a perfect size. We also had both the wedding ceremony and reception at the venue. All of our guests told me that they felt very welcomed and "at home" during the wedding. It is a very beautiful club and golf course. Since the day of my wedding was cold and rainy, we had to move the ceremony inside (instead of at the gazebo) which ended up being great. At first, I didn't like their "Plan B Ceremony Location" but was so happy that we ended up using it. They still made it look so beautiful and it was perfect. As for the reception, I loved the organization of the room (which I preplanned with the wedding coordinator) and the food/drinks were great! We got the highest package which included five passed around appetizers, soup, salad, three meal options, cake, a sweets table, AND a late night snack table! All of their packages also include an open bar which was super nice. My only criticism is I wish the wedding planners had more communication with me building up to the wedding day. I felt like I had a lot of questions which made me very stressed leading up to the day. Looking at how the day went, however, everything fell into place and was great though. I loved my wedding day and I am very thankful for Ruffled Feathers!

It was BEAUTIFUL, the chandeliers were gorgeous in the pictures. The grounds were spectacularly taken care of & look like a magical place in our pictures. The food was VERY good! Not one complaint from anyone! I am beyond thrilled with how wonderful everything turned out. My expectations were met and then some! I will forever recommend Ruffled Feather to others for any event.

The food was unbelievable. 6 days later, people are still raving about how good the food was, especially the soup. (Not your typical wedding food.) Everything was elegant and the staff made sure everything ran smoothly. I would highly recommend any party here - very easy to work with, very accommodating, great bartenders, servers and elegant atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable evening.

The ballroom had a lot of space for our ~170 guests. All of the food offered was delicious and had no complaints from our guests. Definitely would recommend.

how nice the entire evening/night was. The ceremony space and ballroom were absolutely beautiful. All my guests complimented how good the food was too. Plus, with the beautiful weather, the grounds were just breathtaking. Colleen, the Events Coordinator, was very helpful to me and my husband throughout the wedding planning process. She helped with answering all of our questions, and I know I had many :-) especially since I was an out-of-town bride. She was so patient, kind and an absolute pleasure to work with. Kathy, was also helpful throughout the planning process. Kathy and Colleen make an excellent team, and were accommodating with meeting me when I was in town to ensure all my wedding plans were in order. Furthermore, Sean, the banquet manager, did a wonderful job at ensuring the food was perfect and the service was superb. I know it takes a lot of work to have large events go as smoothly as my wedding night did, so I appreciate how much effort everyone put in to deliver the perfect wedding!

Every detail was in place and executed as planned. The ballroom was breathtakingly beautiful! It truly took my breath away when we first arrived and saw the room decorated. The sunlight lit up the room….and it was stunning! The tables were gorgeous with the Chivari chairs and gold chargers! Holding the cocktail hour in the bar & grill was perfect….and our guests were able to enjoy their appetizers and drinks outside on the deck overlooking the golf course on a beautiful evening. Beginning with cocktails and appetizers and moving on to the dinner, the wedding cake, the sweet table and the late night pizza….all of it was FANTASTIC! The food was delicious. We continue to receive compliments from our guests. And your servers were terrific. Colleen – I appreciate all that you did to manage the numerous details for our reception. Thank you for your prompt replies to my many questions and e-mails the past year. A huge thank you for staying on top of everything to insure that we had a fabulous evening which went smoothly! ed. My guests had nothing but compliments for the venue. The food was superb (had dijon chicken, salmon, and a vegetarian plate). Most plates were empty by the end of dinner. We purchased the most expensive package, and when I walked into the ceremony and reception, the place looked like a million bucks. It exceeded my expectations and everyone thought the reception cost $5-10,000 more than it actually did. Colleen and Kathy were incredibly accommodating. I hired additional wedding planners that were probably unnecessary but gave me a bit of peace of mind. Once they left for the evening, Julie from RF took over and she was incredibly attentive - to the point that she was bringing us drinks at 10 pm (without being asked) outside while we did photos under the gazebo. The woman literally felt like she was everywhere at once. My only suggestion to brides is to make sure they have your groom's favorite drink. It was on the list of alcohol but they did not have any and he whined about it (but he got drunk and forgot about it by the end of the night). Also, I suggest having someone (like a parent or cousin) collect all the decor at the end of the night. Some items got lost in the clean up - nothing that was upsetting but we were a little bummed and items were thrown into boxes (our guest book canvas was bent when we picked it up the next day). These were very minor issues though compared to the perfection of the entire day.

We had a little hiccup but they pulled through and all the staff helped us out avoid a small disaster :). Everyone was asked multiple times if they needed anything, which helped our grandparents continue drinking since they didn't have to get up from their table. The day flew by, but if I had to do it over, I would not hesitate to do everything the same way. If you are looking for a quick engagement without having to worry too much about certain details; definitely give RFCC a try!!!

As a bride, there are few things more stressful than not having a strong sense of how your big day is going to look. With that being said, I would recommend this venue if you live nearby. The food is AMAZING. I will say that again - the food is AMAZING. All of our guests are still telling us how great their dinners were. They're flexible with meal choices and were able to accomodate dietary restrictions. Dinner seemed a little rushed, but that might just be how weddings work. We were able to drive a few golf carts around to different spots for photos which was a blast! The venue has several beautiful spots for pictures, both inside and out. Colleen was great at setting up our decor for us. I dropped everything off the day before and let a list of how I wanted everything. Colleen took care of everything for us and made it all look very pretty. For our ceremony, we used the terrace room and had to ask the bar to turn the music off because we could clearly hear it from the ceremony room. I only mention that so it can be taken into consideration for future weddings. The dance floor was a good size and the layout of the room is completely flexible. The dance floor was important to me because other venues in the area had extremely small dance floors. I also enjoyed having access to the bridal suite throughout the evening, as it definitely came in handy to store our purses, extra shoes, etc.

Pauley. While I was a bride with a lot of requests, she definitely delivered, going above and beyond to make sure all of the details were ironed out and perfect before our big day. Since Kathy was out of town the week of our wedding, we also had the pleasure of working with Daniel the day of, who also went above and beyond throughout the night to make sure everything was just as we imagined. While Kathy knew she was going to be out of town, she took the time to plan an extra mini rehearsal with our officiant and introduced us to those who would be covering for her, which definitely put us at ease! You can tell all of the staff at RF love what they do... from the girls who assist with the tasting, to our bartender Mike, everyone makes you feel so warm and welcome... like your wedding is their only priority. We got married in late September outside by the Gazebo and the grounds were perfect. We added a few flowers to the gazebo, but other than that the backdrop was perfect in our pictures. The grounds and the building alone have plenty of awesome picture opportunities, great if you are doing a first look on site! Cocktail hour was perfect, we held ours in the ballroom with the cake in the middle of the dance floor with plenty of room for our guests to mingle and enjoy the amazing (!) hors d'oeuvres. We had 170 guests at our wedding which allowed us plenty of room to fit in all of our tables comfortably (15 plus the head table). We had so many 'extra' decorations for the staff to put up the day of and they executed perfectly, better than I envisioned! Our guests have not stopped raving about the food, service, and fun additions to the night, like the butler passed champagne parade, sweets and late night snack tables, and signature cocktail drinks. We will be forever grateful for the staff at Ruffled Feathers for making our wedding day so perfect! I think it's safe to say I would recommend RF to anyone, you cannot beat the price for all that you get!

t. They decorated our room better than imagined. The food was outstanding. Hors d'oeuvres were excellent as well. She even added in a small sweets table which was to our suprise, and guests LOVED it! We received many compliments on how beautiful everything was and how good the food and drinks were! Our wedding ceremony was held outside at the gazebo, and Kathy was able to provide our guests with fresh lemonade and water outside prior to the ceremony. The location of the golf club is absolutely beautiful & the pictures that we got will forever hold memories of the most beautiful day of our lives.

of food on their brunch menu and the mimosa bar was something I did not find at other venues. From beginning to end Kathy and her staff were great. I didn't even get to meet Kathy until a week before our event, but she was always quick to respond to emails and voice mails. At the beginning of the shower, the shift managers met with us and were very accommodating when we had a couple last minute requests. The food was hot and the staff kept everything filled as long as people were still eating. The chefs were great at preparing the made to order omelette station, and the staff kept the mimosa bar flowing which all the guests loved. Thank you Ruffled Feathers for a great shower!
