The most excellent barn wedding venue! Havila and Jack were the BEST hosts and wedding coordinators. We planned our wedding in St Ignatius, MT while living in Hawaii and our family was based out of Maryland (3 different time zones over 6 hours difference). Havila was exceptionally accommodating in every step of the wedding planning process. It's what stuck out to us when we were selecting our venue to start: her and her husband were organized, punctual, friendly, and well-versed in the Montana Wedding scene--not to mention, the barn is beautiful, and the mountain view is unreal. Honestly the best venue out there, for a really great price. Worth every penny!

Jack & Havila were absolutely amazing to work with! From the planning process to the day of set-up, they were professional, organized, and thoughtful. They made it easy and enjoyable to plan the perfect day. They made sure everything ran smoothly and were so kind and wonderful to our family. We heard so many great things from our guests! We can't recommend them enough! And not to mention their venue is absolutely GORGEOUS! Thank you again for helping us create the best day of our lives!

The Rugged Horizon venue is hands down the best in the Western Montana region. After months of constant research of wedding venues , Rugged Horizon was the obvious choice. With the best value and view there was nothing even remotely comparable to this venue. The timeliness of responses from Havila and Jack were the best of any wedding venues or vendors I had reached out to. If I had any question at all, I had a email back to me within what felt like a couple minutes. Jack and Havila were there to help every single step of the way. Upon visiting the venue, they even had a booklet made up for me with every detail a bride could need from vendors in the area, vendors they had worked with, transportation, hotels, things to do in the area, and even information regarding the property with “to scale” layouts of their barn and tables so that a bride could work on the table set up without actually having to be at the venue to do so. Once wedding day, hit Havila and Jack were there for every question or concern that arose. They had all chairs and tables set up with beautiful clean and pressed linens. They helped coordinate the timing of walking down the aisle, escorted guests down to the ceremony area via side by side, made sure restrooms were stocked….honestly there was nothing that they didn’t do. Now that we are back to real life I have gotten multiple compliments from guests on how functional, presentable, kind, and helpful Jack and Havila were throughout the wedding day. I would never even consider a different venue after working with this couple and venue. On top of how amazing they are, the venue itself was easy to decorate. They do the work of table and linens and the rest of the decor was just the natural beauty of the barn, flowers, landscaping and backdrop of the Mission Mountains. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this Venue and Jack and Havila.

Rugged Horizon is an AMAZING venue for so many reasons including location, price, amenities, etc., but I have to address the hosts. Jack and Havila made our choice of venue worth every penny. These two will stop at nothing to make your day particularly special. Our wedding took place at the end of May 2019 and in true MT fashion, the weather was spotty. We really wanted an outdoor ceremony with the reception taking place inside the barn. Jack and Havila ensured us that they would set up for an outdoor ceremony and would be willing to make the change to an indoor ceremony within an hour of the ceremony start time if the weather turned. Thankfully, the weather held up beautifully. Since the meadow location for the outdoor ceremony is a bit of a walk from the barn and parking area, Jack provides a ride on a golf cart to any wedding guests who cannot or choose not to make the walk to and from the meadow. Additionally, a few of our family members are gluten-free, but a gluten-free meal was not provided at our wedding (we served pizza). Instead, we bought a gluten-free pizza for the few family members who needed it and Havila prepared it just before the ceremony so that it was ready in time for the reception. Both Jack and Havila worked diligently throughout our day and leading up to it to ensure that everything went off without a hitch. Even after the wedding, Jack and Havila continued to bless us by sending us a thank you for choosing their venue and sending a Christmas card and thoughtful gift (a Christmas ornament commemorating our day at their beautiful venue). They went above and beyond any expectations I could have had as our venue hosts, and I would recommend Rugged Horizon to any bride, any day.
