Just say YES! Running Mare was the ideal venue for our wedding celebration. The surroundings are picturesque during all seasons and the barns are decorated with gorgeous planters! The bridal suite is fit for a queen and made preparing for the ceremony with my ladies such a vibrant experience! High ceilings, huge windows, local art, unique furniture, multiple mirrors, and refrigeration are just a few perks of this space! Both barns are full of character and can be set up and decorated in a variety of ways. The owners and staff are PHENOMENAL! They welcomed us with open arms, listened to our thoughts and requests, offered a variety of decor, and helped make the whole weekend just what my husband and I had envisioned! We had just about 100 guests and a 5 piece bluegrass band ... to say we had a blast is an understatement! Bottom line, if you're looking for a wedding venue in the Richmond Metro area go check out Running Mare!

There are a lot of beautiful venues out there, but only Running Mare has Austin. He was very responsive, professional, and kind through out the whole process. We benefitted from their knowledge of weddings and several referrals of vendors they have worked with before. The venue itself is gorgeous, welcoming, and comfortable. I am so glad we went with Running Mare. We can not say enough good things.

My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. The grounds were immaculate, Robin and Austin were incredible hosts & always available to answer questions and assist, and our guests commented over and over after the wedding how beautiful it all was. Running Mare was the perfect place for our blended family of 10 to begin our lives together.

Running Mare is an absolutely gorgeous venue located on a private farm in Maidens, VA. The features include a beautiful lake, outdoor covered pavilion w/ optional dropdown walls, a farmhouse with bridal suite above, and a groomsmen's cottage located across the lake. My wife and I had to reschedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic (initial date was 9/19/2020), and Robin and Austin were excellent in helping us reschedule everything for the following year. The location is not far (~20-25 min) from the Short Pump area in Richmond, which is where we recommended our guests to stay. Speaking of which, we were able to accommodate around 150 guests comfortably. We have amazing memories and no regrets with choosing Running Mare for our wedding venue.

Robin and her husband, Austin were the most amazing duo to work with. By the end of the experience they felt like family and fully invested in making sure that my daughter's wedding day was everything we imagined.

My husband and I got married at the Running Mare in September of 2021 and it was truly the wedding of our dreams. Robin and Austin were amazing to work with and super accommodating. They were able to provide us with the contact info of a phenomenal day of coordinator, Debbi (who I also highly recommend). The venue itself is breathtaking with the water views, flower blooms, and farm animals. The whole planning process and day of was seamless with Robin and Austin. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

We had our wedding here in October of 2021 and it was absolutely stunning! Robin and Austin are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. They were also SO helpful and had so many decorations/tables/chairs already at the venue which was a huge help to us. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot to host our wedding; everyone loved it!

Running Mare is a beautiful venue! Robyn and Austin are amazing host and helped us all the way to our wedding day! We had hurricane Michael come through two days before our day and knocked out power and lots of tress. Robyn was on top of it for us! Thankfully the day of our wedding we had power and the property was all cleaned up. They treat you like family and always go above and beyond!

Running Mare is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! My husband and I could not have been happier to get married on Robin and Austin’s property. We truly had the best day from start to finish! Robin and Austin were always very responsive with any questions we had and super helpful on the day of the wedding from setup to breakdown. We could not have asked for more!

This venue was a dream come true! The owners are incredibly accommodating and the property is GORGEOUS! Our wedding turned out perfect and we have Running Mare to thank for that. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.

The Running Mare was a wonderful venue for our daughter's wedding last fall! The friendly family that runs this amazing place where very responsive to questions and had recommendations for caterer, flowers, etc. The entire venue was beautiful from the bridal suite/groom's cottage to both barns. A great experience all around. I would hold an event there again!

We had the wedding day we dreamed of at Running Mare! The Casparis were always so willing to work with us to give us our dream day. They were flexible, generous, professional, and great communicators for us. Not to mention, the venue is absolutely breathtaking! Every part of their venue is beautiful...from the tables, to the chairs, to the pond, to the barns. It was exactly how we envisioned! Robin has a whole supply of table decor that she lends out to her brides—so kind and a money saver too! We are from the Shenandoah Valley and thought that it captured the hills, fields, and waters that we cherish so much. It reminded us of home! We love Running Mare and could not recommend it more.

Running Mare is a stunning venue, made all the better by the fact that Robin and Austin are some of the kindest and most helpful people. They were onsite during the wedding and helped clean up and ferry people back and forth between the parking lot and the ceremony space. When I told our other vendors the venue was Running Mare, they all said "oh we LOVE working with them" and they were all true! We visited twice before our wedding and that wasn't an issue. They also have a room full of decor that you can use which we found really helpful! The venue is so pretty with lots of different photo background options like trees, fences, the lake, and the barn. Would absolutely recommend getting married here!!

My daughter's wedding was just this past weekend, 5/18/2019. The venue was perfect, Robyn and Austin were amazing to work with. We were able to come by the venue before hand as many times as we felt necessary and urged to do so. We have been asked over and over how we found the "perfect place" for an outdoor venue. I would strongly suggest that if you are looking for an outdoor venue, you check this out! AMAZING!!

Running Mare and its owners, Robin and Austin, provided the most incredible backdrop and venue for our wedding. The setting shattered expectations and we had the most perfect wedding. From the groom's cottage to the bridal suite and everything in between, this is the best location for a picture perfect wedding in Virginia. We even saw a bald eagle swoop in and catch a fish right out of the pond as we were taking our formal photos. The setting is gorgeous and words fail to accurately describe the beauty of Running Mare and of Robin and Austin, and their family. Running Mare is truly the most amazing wedding venue in the state.

Running Mare is a gorgeous venue! It's been built with weddings in mind. The bridal suite is stunning and has so much natural light. The grooms area is very rustic and located further away from the bride for privacy. The cabin to stay the night is absolutely worth it! The owners are amazing people. They are so involved in creating an atmosphere that is relaxed and making sure guests stay happy and safe. I highly recommend getting married at Running Mare and as a vendor look forward to working their in the future.

We are booked for May 2019! Robin and Austin are absolutely amazing and have let us tour the facility more than once, they’ve been great at answering questions as well as given us ideas for decor and recommendations for vendors! The property is gorgeous and the pictures on the site don’t do it justice.

When my fiance and I toured this venue a few weeks ago, we automatically fell in love with the property and the animals! Robin and Austin the owners are such amazing hard working people and we are very excited to work with them for our wedding next fall! They are great at responding to questions and concerns I have about everything. We can't wait to see the new barn they are building in the next few months!

Running Mare, a gorgeous new wedding venue offered in Goochland County! Private and stunning farm with rolling hills, waterfront, bridges, barns, and more!! The Owners Robin & Austin are the most sweetest people to work with and very down to earth! Their heart is in entertaining & serving others! They run and maintain their gorgeous farm with horses and longhorn cattle. The property has breathtaking views in every direction giving a bride and groom endless options for their DREAM wedding day! The beautifully renovated Barn is perfect for any wedding rain or shine! I am a wedding photographer and have photographed here multiple times and I am always finding a new little nook to photograph in, giving my couples a numerous amount of beautiful options for their images! This will be THE wedding venue to choose in Goochland this year + years to come!!!
