Ruthann’s work is very signature to her. One of the staff members at the venue recognized her baking right away. Her cake and cookies are works of art!
One thing to keep in mind when you hire Ruthann is that her shop is small and they have a small staff (that’s probably part of the reason the quality is so good) but this also leads to their shop having a ton of weddings to plan for. So just trust her process, everything will get done, and you won’t be disappointed!

We got married at Castle Farms on December 30, 2019. We had Ruthann make us a 2 tier (8” and 10”) cake in a semi-naked style with flowers, about 50 cupcakes in 3 different flavors,...
2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries, and about 50 heart shaped bride and groom decorated sugar cookies. Everything we tasted was delicious, and guests enjoyed it a lot too. Ruthann is super sweet and easy to work with, though she’s not very responsive to email which made planning from Metro Detroit a bit difficult (but she always answered quickly when we were able to call). Prices were reasonable (less than $1,000 for everything I listed, with a $250 deposit when we booked her), and we were able to do a tasting at her home bakery before booking. She’s great to chat with and has a big personality that we loved. I highly recommend working with her for your wedding, it was top-notch work and we absolutely loved everything!

In all honesty, I have never in my life met a cupcake that tasted better than her almond wedding cake and her lemon raspberry cake. They’re PURE perfection! Often cakes can be too sweet or have a grainy texture, but Ruthann has nailed it! Neither my husband or my new mother-in-law has much of a sweet tooth, and even they couldn’t get enough!
Beyond Ruthann’s exceptional cakes, she is an absolute delight to work with. She’s incredibly passionate about her work, and she’s organized, easy to communicate with, and reliable. 10/10 recommend! I will definitely detour through Bellaire to pick up a cupcake from her adorable bakery storefront whenever I’m even remotely in the vicinity. t get the chance to see it before the reception (which made this Type A bride nervous) but she really pulled through. The only thing I would change is I prefer email communication and a paper invoice and Ruthie seemed to communicate by phone much more and gave me my total over the phone.
