Ryssby Church

you simply can't manufacture, exactly the timeless, classic backdrop we wanted for our wedding day. Parking is easy for guests, but it is a dirt lot, so it's worth letting your guests know ahead of time so they can plan for the walk from car to door. One important thing to know is that the church itself is a single-room building, so there's no separate space for the wedding party to wait before the ceremony. Our workaround was a party bus, and the church grounds were able to accommodate it beautifully. There's a gate right in front of the church that they opened for us, so we waited on the bus until it was time instead of standing around in the dirt lot. If you're planning a ceremony here, I'd highly recommend thinking through this ahead of time, whether that's a party bus or another arrangement, since the venue itself doesn't have a built-in solution for it. Coordinating with the church was very simple thanks to Betsy. She's communicative, upfront about what to expect, and made sure we had all the information we needed. She opened the church for a walkthrough during planning, and the day before the wedding she made sure we had access to get everything set up. Having someone that responsive and organized on the other end made the whole process feel easy. A couple of practical notes for guests: bathrooms are on-site but separate from the church itself, and they're more of a rustic, outhouse-style setup rather than modern restrooms. If your guests would rather avoid that, it's worth mentioning ahead of time that they use the restroom before arriving. The details of the space are perfect for a classic wedding. Light pouring through the windows, candles set in the window sills, and our own flower arrangements throughout, including calla lilies tied with ribbon along the pews to line the aisle, all came together beautifully. The white pews, the blue ceiling, and the quaint Swedish charm of the building gave us exactly the aesthetic we were dreaming of. If you're religious and want that element in your wedding but have struggled to find a church in this area with the right feel, I'd point you straight to Ryssby. It manages to hold onto that religious foundation while still feeling classic, timeless, and beautiful. We are so grateful we got to say our vows there.
