Sage Bridal

tried a few dress shops before Sage, and I couldn't recommend anyone better. They were not pushy at all, and truly wanted to help you find your perfect dress. The dresses were absolutely beautiful, they made alternations a breeze, and were so kind and easy to schedule with.

ortive, energetic, and wonderful at every step of the way. She gave honest advice and feedback and gave me tips on everything. Scheduling was so easy and the fittings went so smoothly. The dress fits me like a freaking GLOVE! Prices are super reasonable, too. At the final fitting, I had some friends come with me and now they all want to get their dresses at Sage too! Every addition/change/alteration I wanted was accommodated. I love how you get the whole boutique whether it’s for trying on dresses or for any of your fittings. I can’t wait to wear my dress soon and I’m sad I won’t be making anymore visits to Sage!

ren’t yielding results, and Christen was a no show for what was supposed to be the final fitting that my mom, sister and best friend had taken off from work and drove four hours to be there for. Christen did gift me with a veil as an apology for missing this appointment, which was greatly appreciated considering the amount of effort that was made to get all four of us at that appointment, that unfortunately never happened. At the fourth alterations appointment Christen told me her seamstress was going out of the country in 3 days and if further alterations were needed she “would have to find me someone else”. Unfortunately additional alterations were still needed, so I decided to find a seamstress on my own and took my dress to another bridal shop who carried the same designer. This presented the opportunity to compare seamstress work and pricing. The first photo is the bustle Sage Bridal charged me $150 for – one loop hooking the train to a decorative button on the back of the dress. The second and third photos show the bustle the second seamstress delivered, also for $150, with seven connection points and color coordinating ties. I’m not quite sure how the first bustle would have even worked as the dress is still hanging on the ground. I reached out to Sage Bridal after my wedding and provided these same details about the bustle and asked if she’d review the charges and possibly refund me a portion given the difference in quality. I never received a response. I anticipate there will be a nasty rebuttal to this review based on the other negative reviews that have been posted and based on my previous interactions with Christen. In fact, I went back and forth about even leaving a review because I didn’t want to deal with the negativity, but I ultimately decided that planning a wedding is stressful enough and the process of buying and altering a dress should be the most enjoyable and least stressful experience associated with a wedding. Unfortunately Sage Bridal caused a lot of extra stress and hassle for me and if I can prevent another bride from having to deal with the same issues.

ying for the dress and signing all the paperwork. When the dress arrived 5 months later, my wife was so excited to try it on. She returned to the shop and found the dress didn’t fit. The back zipper didn't even close because it was too small. Christen ordered the dress three sizes too small instead of sizing it up to fit. Christen told my wife she could fix the dress, but after 3 months of failed alterations, the dress still didn’t fit. My mother-in-law drove 5 hours to VA to discuss the dress fitting issues with Christen. She asked Christen to speak with the on-site seamstress. Christen didn’t allow that and said the seamstress worked over an hour away even though the website advertised an on-site seamstress. Christen was furious that my mother-in-law came to the shop with my wife to discuss the dress's problems and how to fix it. Christen then forbade her from coming back to the shop and treated my wife unfairly. After how Christen mistreated her, my wife was afraid to return to the shop on her own and hated how she looked in the dress. At this point, our wedding was a month away, and my wife still didn't have a wearable dress. She just wanted to pick up the dress and take it to another shop or seamstress for proper fitting. Christen told us we couldn't take it from the store until we paid for the alterations and signed an NDA (Non-Discloser-Agreement) she emailed. This agreement prohibited us from discussing what happened at the store or posting reviews. Because the dress was already purchased by my mother-in-law, an NDA was completely illegal. This NDA left us with no choice, but to leave my wife’s dress at the bridal store and start from scratch less than a month before our wedding. My mother-in-law contacted everyone in the northern VA area and thankfully we found Tang’s Bridal. Tang’s Bridal bent over back to accommodate my wife. They allowed her to buy an off-the-rack dress and altered it perfectly for our wedding. Christen continued to cause immense amounts of stress for my family even after our wedding. She sued my wife twice for emotional distress and then sued my mother-in-law. Throughout the court process, Christen lied through everything. She ruined our honeymoon and Christmas because of all the stress she put us through. Please choose another bridal shop over Sage Bridal. There are other shops like Brooke’s Bridal & Ball and Tang’s Bridal that will absolutely help you with everything and make your dress experience wonderful.
