I would highly recommend Sage for any wedding cake needs, or really any time you want to eat cake. Their cake is DELICIOUS and I had so many people compliment the cake we had at our wedding for both the appearance and taste. Faith made the process very smooth and she was very thorough with our options during our tasting.

We could not be happier working with Sage for our wedding on 11/2/24. I knew after looking at their work that they had exactly what we wanted (small simple cake with a large variety for a dessert table), and they were very accommodating to work with us even after having a booked schedule. They were easy to work with to customize our desserts, arrived on time to deliver everything (with a beautiful set-up) and most importantly, everything tasted amazing!! We are not cake people and man, I cannot wait for our anniversary cake! We had 70 guests. We ordered a two tiered cake and 3 dozen cupcakes. Sage Cakery was great to work with in executing my dream wedding cake, even when I had a last minute add on with decor. So beautiful! And delicious!

Sage provided the desserts for our October 2024 wedding. We ordered a token cake, 4 dozen cupcakes & their apple cider mini donuts. Everything looked beautiful the day of the wedding & we are still receiving compliments on how delicious the desserts were. They accommodated our vegan & gluten-free needs.

My guests RAVED about the cake from Sage. The look, the taste. We got a lemon cake with raspberry jam and their signature blackberry sage, and I think the blackberry was the star of the show. I changed the look for the cake I wanted in the eleventh hour and the owner, Nikki, was so helpful and helped get us all settled. A seamless experience from the first tasting to the end. There was an issue with the cake stand we had requested, which I didn’t even notice (so clearly not that important lol) and Nikki was so helpful afterward and even gave us the option for a refund or credit for the rental. Awesome customer service and even better cake. You can’t go wrong with Sage for your wedding. Beautiful cakes that also taste great.

We wanted gluten free desserts for our wedding and Sage was AMAZING! My family members loved the desserts! Every single dessert was gone within an hour of them being put out! We also appreciate the delivery and equipment/stands rental from Sage. We would definitely recommend!

Sage Cakery made sure our wedding cake and cupcakes were absolutely amazing! They have unusual flavors that all of our guests got excited about. And they made the process of handling multiple allergies a breeze. Growing up in a gluten-free household, it was wonderful to find a bakery that makes gluten-free cakes that are even better than any other wedding cake I've had!

We ordered two dozen gluten-free and vegan cupcakes from Sage for our October 2023 wedding, to accommodate all of our many guests with dietary restrictions. We love how inclusive they are and their flavors are unbelievable! We ran into a little snafu when going to pick up our order; it had been missed when they started the day's prep, and was not ready for pickup. The Sage team made every accommodation possible, offering to make and even deliver the cupcakes fresh the next day. They had worked with our venue and caterer, which further put our mind at ease! Mistakes happen every day, and how you handle them is 100% a mark of how you operate as a company. Sage not only solved the problem, but found a solution that was even better than we had originally planned! We will be return customers for sure, and cannot recommend them enough for your wedding!

Our wedding cake was so delicious. I'm not a cake person, but it's so good and I still want more! Everyone loved the mini cupcakes and donuts and were asking where we got them. Thank you so much for everything.

Sage Cakery has always been my favorite bakery in Frederick! Ally, Nikkie, and their team did an amazing job recreating our vision from a photo. We got their peach coriander cake for our May wedding and it was a dream. Would choose them 10x over. :)

Highly recommend Sage Cakery! We ended up going with a cake & dessert bar. We had our consultation with Nikki’s virtually, and she and her team nailed our vision. They were great with answering all of our questions. All of the treats were delicious. We also rented cake and dessert stands. Really great business to work with.

Sage cakery has my heart! I am a big desserts gal, and when we first consulted with Nikkie we were blown away at all the options they offer. She answered all of our questions, gave awesome suggestions and we really let her take the lead! She truly knows what’s best!! After consulting we were introduced to Ally, who is an absolute gem. We ended up making some changes to our order and she changed them all seamlessly and made the process so smooth for us. We did a small chocolate cake, brownies, pumpkin cheesecake bars, salted caramel cupcakes, warm cocoa cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles. Every dessert was delicious and unique, all of our guests loved all the sweets. 10000% recommend Nikkie, Ally, and the whole team at Sage Cakery for all of your dessert needs!

Our beautiful and tasty wedding cake was made by Sage Cakery! We had a great tasting experience with them. We came running after a planned one gone wrong and they set us up when we arrived. Sage was easy to book and communicate with as the wedding approached to finalize the details. The cake came out exactly as expected and tasted great! I would recommend sage cakery, especially if you have dietary restrictions you want or need to accommodate! We ordered gluten free cupcakes for our guests who would need them. My one regret is not cc'ing my coordinator on my correspondence with them as the added cupcakes to our order were not delivered on the day of our wedding with our cake. We were reimbursed for them in full and were overall satisfied with Sage Cakery!

Sage Cakery was dream to work with. Not only was the cake absolutely delicious, but it fit our vision exactly. It was so beautiful I almost didn’t want to cut it! Nikkie was communicative and detailed, and made sure that all our dreams came true. We loved working with this bakery!

From the beginning, the Sage Cakery team went above and beyond to ensure that we had our dream cake on our wedding day. In addition to figuring out how to assist us with a cake tasting from a different state, the team really worked with us to nail down our design and flavors, being super patient through a few rounds of revisions. In the end, they absolutely nailed it! The cake truly looked like something off of Pinterest and it tasted fantastic! We were so impressed with their skills and truly cannot recommend Sage Cakery enough!

Working with Ally at Sage Cakery was a pleasure! We were looking for a bakery that did gluten free options since some of our guests have Celiac. Their desserts were so delicious! Also, they have so many options to pick from! Usually, when you look for GF treats you only get one or two choices. Everything we had at our wedding was GF. It was very helpful, as well, that they provided all the stands and necessities for cutting the cake. The set up was beautifully done!

Sage Cakery was great to work with! We were having a small wedding in Gambrill State Park but still wanted a really great cake. We tried a sample box and so many great flavors it was hard to choose. We settled on a chai spice half-naked cake, and then had red velvet mini cupcakes, gluten free s'mores cupcakes, and salted caramel bars. Everything was so good! I would definitely recommend them and I'm hoping to order from them again for future events.

Sage Cakery easily gets 5 stars for my daughter’s wedding held on September 10, 2021. From our delicious tasting to renting the display stands, Nikki was awesome to work with. Our guests raved about the BlackBerry Sage cupcakes! Highly recommend!

We used Sage Cakery for our 9/17/21 wedding and the cake was incredible. All of our vendors did an amazing job, but the cake was definitely the #1 thing people raved about. I have some food allergies and Sage Cakery was so accommodating which really set them apart for us, and the result was delicious.

The best. Amazing (and shockingly affordable!) with allergen-friendly options. We went with a GF vegan almond cake for our wedding (hands-down best cake we've EVER had), and a dessert bar for guests. People still rave about the cardamom pear cupcakes and smores bars. Creative, delicious, fantastic team!! Everything was also so beautiful, and exactly what we asked for cake-wise.

Nikki helped me to design a surprise groom's cake and our couple's wedding cake! She was extremely attentive, courteous, and brought our vision to life. Planning a wedding in 2020 brought enough stress and knowing that Nikki was able to fit our wedding date into her schedule, make design recommendations, and really go above and beyond on the final cakes made us feel like there was one less thing to worry about. We knew we needed to hire Sage Cakery as soon as we started to wedding plan for our local wedding. I didn’t even look at another bakery. Sage Cakery made my bridal shower desserts, made cupcakes for my groom for his bachelor party and for the grand finale our wedding cake. We had a virtual cake consultation which was so special, we got to take a cake box with a variety of delicious flavors home and taste them before chatting with Nikkie. She was so flexible in adjusting styles based on the flavor we chose and was so great to work with. Highly recommend Sage Cakery, not just for wedding cakes but honestly any and all your dessert needs.

Nikki was absolutely wonderful to work with. So talented and creative! We showed our design and Nikkie brought it to life. The cakes? Absolutely delicious with very unique flavors and allergy accommodations, as well as many options for rentals (cake stands, etc.). Very flexible with take-home tastings and virtual consultations amidst the unprecedented COVID craziness. The cake tasting boxes were amazing. And the cake the day of? DELICIOUS. Our guests raved about our cake. We are excited to try more flavors for future birthdays/holidays/events! Highly recommend to anyone!!!

Nikkie the owner of Sage Cakery in Urbana is the most artistic and creative person I have ever met! I showed her 2 picture of a cake I wanted for my wedding and let her do her own thing and it was the most amazing cake I have ever seen! She is the best person and so amazing to work with, even in a time cruch due to covid she amazed me! She goes above and beyond to learn about you and your style! You will be absolutely blown away with breathtaking cakes! The best thing about Nikkie is you can trust her & she will give you everything & more then you would have ever expected!

Nikkie is amazing! She was such a joy to work with. Her cakes are to die for and her attention to detail is exceptional. I would highly recommend hiring her for any of your baked good needs! Our wedding cake was a three tiered naked cake with two different flavors, Chai Spice and Vanilla with a fruit compote/jam filling. My guests were raving about how good the cake was.

Nikkie went above and beyond our expectations for a dessert "bar" for our wedding! We had several different types of dessert bars (apple ones were TO DIE FOR), cake pops, and mini cupcakes. We had a small cake to cut, which was chocolate peanut butter - seriously so good! The display was so beautiful, and exactly what we asked for. Nikkie was even willing to display donuts from an orchard in addition to the many desserts she provided. Nikkie was our number one vendor for communication. Her responses are always quick and I knew I could count on her for the day of the wedding! Her prices are very reasonable. Would highly recommend to anyone for cake, desserts, etc! Also, her bakery is so cute! Can't go wrong with hiring Sage Cakery for your next event!

Nikkie was AMAZING! My husband and I searched and searched for a bakery to understand our vision, and Nikkie was just that! She was kind, understanding and a true artist! She made our wedding cake look and most importantly taste amazing. I am a huge chocolate lover and when I said I wanted a chocolate “naked” cake I got some looks for friends and family but Nikkie didn’t bat an eye, she turned my vision to life!
