ip with Sage (as "father of the groom" and fellow musician), began from long-distance approximately eleven months before the wedding ceremony, and with some very specific musical ideas in mind - to the point where we had some special arrangements created which would indeed require world-class musicians. Needless to say, everything was absolutely perfect and turned out incredibly - Sage delivered far beyond expectations! Kyung LeBlanc (whom I now call a friend), was the most pleasant, accommodating, and professional individual you would ever want associated with a once in a lifetime musical performance. The ceremony (which we made sure was professionally recorded and captured) was total perfection, and the most moving and emotional experience that we could have ever asked for. Our guests will never forget the musical quality and the memories that were created during the prelude and ceremony. We cannot thank Kyung and Sean enough for everything they provided us- we wish that we could relive the entire experience all over again! We also requested a jazz trio (piano/bass/sax) for the cocktail hour, which provided an incredible atmosphere of elegance performed by some legendary musicians. In addition, we had the strings perform contemporary selections during dinner, which added so much warmth to the start of the evening reception. All in all, we cannot put into words how much we appreciate everyone's attention and dedication to quality and musicianship. THANK YOU Sage for delivering beyond expectations. I can honestly say that you will not find a more professional, committed, and musically gifted group of individuals - they were absolutely incredible and definitely exceed a five-star recommendation!!

my wedding. My venue had some quartets on their preferred vendor list, but none of them really was a good fit for me. Then after much research, I found the Sage String Quartet online. First, their website was the most professional of any I had seen. Secondly, they had the best repertoire of any string quartet I had seen. Thirdly, their sample recordings were the best of any I had heard. Fourthly, they listen to input from you regarding mood and types of pieces you want. Fifthly, they have an in-house arranger if you want to commission arrangements of pieces that you like, that are not already readily available or in their library. And lastly, the reviews were excellent. I contacted Kyung to book them, nearly a year before my wedding, just to be absolutely sure that I could get them, and the rest is history. I had them play for the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception. I felt the traditional ceremony pieces are so overused, that I picked all of my own ceremony music. They were able to arrange 3 pieces for me for the ceremony, even though one is probably less known in the U.S. They also arranged my first-dance piece, which was a Danish Viennese waltz, and they matched us so perfectly, that my husband and I were able to do a beautiful waltz, with no prior rehearsal, even though I was wearing heels and a floor-length sheath dress and dancing on cobblestone. Kyung and all of the members of the Sage String Quartet are seasoned professionals and knew how to time everything to perfection. The guests were enthralled, and both my grandmothers said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended, thanks, in large part, to the music. I should add that they do have some other styles of music in their repertoire as well, including some pop. I just requested that the majority be classical. If you are looking for a string quartet, look no further. If you can't book them for the entire event, you won't regret at least having them for your ceremony.

We had struggled to find a string quartet near our venue in Vermont who could play the specialized songs we wanted to hear (mostly movie scores, video game scores, and Sigur Ros), but one final, desperate Google search led me to Sage. Luckily they were free on our date, and even luckier, they were willing to travel to Vermont for us! Oh, and learn like 10 new songs! Kyung was so easy to work with - very responsive, friendly, and professional. They seemed perfectly happy to play out in the middle of the woods (the ceremony location). They sounded incredible - during dinner we kept getting up to go watch them play instead of eating because it was so unbelievably AWESOME to hear a perfect string quartet version of Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Skyrim, Jurassic, Park, etc., etc. I wish I could get a CD of them playing everything, because it was SO awesome and sounded so much better than any of the various versions on YouTube. We got so many compliments from our guests, but on top of that it was a true highlight for the two of us.

They sounded amazing and better than any other group but you always wonder - do they sound just as great live?? I spoke with Kyung several times on the phone and she was very pleasant and easy to work with. She helped me choose my music according to the style I was going for during my ceremony. Then on the day of the wedding, I was more than impressed. They were amazing!!!! Nothing out of tune, no scratches, and their sound projected beautifully! They did live up to their recordings, and of course, live music is 1000% better! They played an interlude during the ceremony and it helped me relax as I was a bit nervous. Since they do a lot of weddings, they are also very good at knowing when to change music, ect. throughout the procession and ceremony...nothing to worry about at all. Again, I am a formally trained musician myself and have VERY high standards which Sage String Quartet definitely met!!!!!!! Very professional and highly recommended!! They may be a little bit higher priced than others but you get what you pay for!
