e. Every bump in the road, Nancy or Donna was there to reassure me everything was going to be perfect. On the morning of the wedding. The skies were completely clear, the sun was out, the cattle were out. Everything was completely perfect. While the bride was getting ready in the beautiful bridal room, I was downstairs being the bridezilla making sure everything was in place. Nancy was so awesome and let me do whatever I needed to. I didn’t need to do much, Nancy had everything under control. The ceremony was perfect. Paula Roberts was awesome with the coordination of the ceremony. At the reception the outdoor bar and happy hour was outstanding. Completely outstanding. The reception exceeded my standards. Martha was in charge of our reception. I was told by guests it was the first wedding they had someone come over and ask how everything was and how impressed they were with that. The food was incredible. Definitely the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding. I highly recommend having your wedding here if you are looking. Everything about this venue is perfect and beautiful. The staff and owners are so nice and helpful. Thank you Nancy, Donna and Martha and the entire Salem Cross Inn staff for a perfect day!

demic. The food is always amazing and the wait staff are the nicest around. We had the ceremony outside at the gazebo with the beautiful fall foliage in the background. Following the ceremony was a wonderful sit down meal in their immaculate 2 floor barn. Our guests gave multiple compliments at how attentive and professional the staff were. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a wedding venue to remember.

e patio area - the grounds are beautifully manicured. Inside, the restaurant and tavern are cozy and inviting and the food deserves a glowing review all on its own. Yes, it's that good. And it keeps getting better: the team at Salem Cross really does make you feel like family. From the moment my husband and I met with Donna, it was easy to see how much love and care Salem Cross puts into the wedding planning process. Donna wanted to hear our story - she wanted to know about our lives, our families, and what we envisioned for our special day. Here's where it got real: The COVID-19 pandemic began about three months before our wedding day and as you can just imagine, hello PANIC. But Donna didn't panic, despite the fact that she probably had to work with many, many other couples to plan for a completely uncertain future. In fact, she helped me stay grounded and reminded me that we were in it together. I can't even keep track of all the phone calls Donna and I exchanged. I can tell you that we started to trade baking recipes though, so that should give you an idea. Salem Cross was so incredibly flexible as we worked our way through the pandemic and the time leading up to our wedding date. I can not imagine a more supportive team of people. When we found out we would be unable to have our wedding as originally planned (roughly 115 guests), Nancy and Donna allowed us to use the grounds for an intimate ceremony of fewer than ten people on our original date, June 6 and were completely accommodating with all other parts of planning. My husband and I just cannot say enough about this wonderful venue. We will continue to recommend Salem Cross to everyone planning a wedding from now until the end of time.

My husband and I were having a Western (cowboy) themed wedding (line dance instruction and all) in the fall and were seeking a venue with a barn that served excellent food. We were fortunate enough to have stumbled upon The Salem Cross Inn thro...
ugh a friend’s recommendation and once we saw the pictures online and the wedding menus, we knew we had to check out the place. We were particularly excited about their prime rib as an option for our wedding guests as it is roasted in an antique fire pit. From day one, we were highly impressed with Nancy’s organization, efficiency and honesty. She explained all of the options clearly, showed us each part of Salem Cross and what they offered, explained the menus, and gave us a pricing quote based on our expected number of guests (approx. 130 guests). Donna, their gifted baker, was also able to meet our needs for a custom cake (Grand Marnier-laced cake with chocolate ganache). Despite all these custom offerings, when we saw the cost estimate we were shocked….at how affordable it was for such a lovely venue and for all of the choices we had available for our menu. From the time we confirmed our wedding spot, throughout the next 18 months, both Nancy and Donna were very communicative and helpful. Both were attentive to phone calls and emails. Donna even baked us a sample of our cake for us to try (which was so good words could not describe it). We had no surprises at all throughout the process and found both Nancy and Donna exceptionally easy to work with. Nancy suggested many options that helped smooth out the execution of the wedding, especially the day of, which alleviated a lot of the stresses leading up to a wedding (Listen to Nancy – she knows what she’s doing!) The venue had all of the available hookups needed for us to have our ceremony outside with a DJ and videographer, and to have our reception nestled wonderfully inside the rustic barn. The day of, The Salem Cross could not possibly have been more professional and attentive to our and our guests’ needs. We even had a member of their staff dedicated to our wedding in case we needed anything. Our goal was for the food and cake to be the stars of the show, so we put the bulk of our budget to that. The Salem Cross did not disappoint – our guests (and us) raved about how good the food was – appetizers, main meals, and even the bread. Many also raved that our custom wedding cake was the best wedding cake they ever had (many of our friends are foodies, so to hear those kinds of compliments meant a lot to us as that was what we were trying to achieve). Our guests (and we) also raved and how well their staff decorated the barn and tables with the decorations we brought to the venue. To further highlight Nancy’s and Donna’s dedication and professionalism, both came back to check on us during our wedding on a Sunday evening. My husband and I are very particular and picky people. With that in mind, we both firmly believe that our wedding at The Salem Cross Inn was nothing short than perfect. We talked about our wedding for weeks afterwards, still marveling at how humbling the entire event was. We will still be talking about it for years to come. The Salem Cross was the backbone for this unforgettable experience. We cannot thank them enough for the experience they helped us create, and for the memories that will last a lifetime.

sts raved about how beautiful the outdoor ceremony space was as well as the reception area in the barn. With the exposed wood beams and the draping lights, it was the most magical place. Down to every detail, the rustic theme was perfect. All that being said, the food was the most amazing part. I can’t tell you how many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had- the prime rib was amazing, huge portions and perfectly cooked. ng charming candelabras, original woodwork and a collection of quirky odds and ends from the time period. There is no way on earth your guests will leave hungry because the food is plentiful and served throughout the event. A big fan favorite was the roast beef which is cooked over a spit in the downstairs fireplace during cocktail hour. Guest remarked on how unique and interactive the cooking experience was. Everyone I spoke to mentioned how much they enjoyed the food. Another major selling point is the caring staff. Donna, our wedding coordinator was great to work with. She made us feel welcome and supported. Salem Cross is a family business and you can tell! The staff take pride in their work and make sure you leave happy. es. We would recommend Salem Cross in a second. Before writing this review we read some of the other reviews and can see many of the same points. We would recommend sitting down early with Nancy or Donna before you have anything else planned. They have a list of vendors and recommend some off the list. We used the violinist. We also used the Florist Barry from their list, who was absolutely amazing and worked to our budget. Many of the flowers came from their own grounds. We were nervous at first using the vendor list but were extremely pleased with them. This is an extremely nice place and we can see why so many people try to have their wedding there. We are understanding of the time frame constraints mentioned in some of the other reviews as we wouldn't want to or want anyone's wedding to interfere with ours. That being said, we felt the entire staff's attention was dedicated to our wedding while we were there. Any requests we had were addressed immediately. Any questions we had during the planning phase, that were answered in a way we were a little bit concerned about actually worked out perfect and Nancy's recommendation was spot on. We have nothing but good things to say about our wedding at the Salem Cross Inn. We would definitely recommend them. Also be open minded about the Vendor list, it worked out great of us. Also the Wedding "cupcake" idea was perfect.

the GORGEOUS gorgeous flowers (we hired Barry, the recommended florist). I seriously had in my mind that we would have a super simple, bare-bones wedding and had adjusted my expectations because we were paying for the wedding ourselves. I have extremely high health expenses so our budget was limited. When I walked down the aisle and walked into the venue for the first time my jaw hit the floor. We saw the venue during the tour and we saw pictures of prior weddings. Let me tell you - NONE of that does this place any justice. In terms of planning, everything went pretty smoothly. Every single one of our vendors was incredible. I mean - worship the ground they walk on - incredible. We need to talk about Barry for a second. Both my husband and I are obsessed with him - my husband probably even more so and he's a guy's guy, motorcycle-riding, a bit rough around the edges kind of guy. My husband was like "we NEED to have more flowers" to which I rolled my eyes and said okay (he can be a bit "extra"). Oh my goodness - that was the best decision EVER. Barry is a one of a kind. I've been to many weddings and our wedding flowers were HANDS DOWN NO CONTEST the BEST flowers I've seen in my whole entire life. And he is BEYOND reasonable. If I could just hire him for every single event for the rest of my life I would. The food was and is SO FREAKING GOOD. We had the Prime Rib and Maple Jack Chicken. Everyone - and I really mean almost everyone - was eating off of each others plates just because they wanted to try every dish Salem Cross made. The charm of this place right down to the antique dishes and silverware is astonishing. Nancy and Donna are super organized and definitely have it together. My questions were unorganized and we had family members trying to change some things and they didn't even bat an eye. We felt like we were in good hands the whole entire time. It's such a cliche but our wedding really was the best day of our lives, to have all of our family and friends together in such a beautiful place. You will not regret having your wedding at Salem Cross <3

rk with, always helpful and communication was easy. They also provided a list of vendors which was very helpful. (From their list we used Green Thumb Florist, Paula- ceremony coordinator, & McCarthy Bus). From start to finish everything was fantastic. We held our rehearsal dinner there the night before. We used the beautiful bridal room with my mom and bridesmaids before the wedding to relax and enjoy a cheese plate and champagne. The ceremony outside at the gazebo was perfect. There was an electrical outlet available for our pianist during the ceremony. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio and we were able to use our own speaker and playlist. The reception in the barn was an amazing evening. My decorations were very minimal, just some wildflowers in small vases on the tables. It doesn't need much, it's already beautiful in there with the strung lights and antique decor. Food was great. We wanted cupcakes instead of a cake and they were delicious! The barn had ample space for our 8 piece band. We have so many amazing photos especially of the beautiful backdrop outside and the rolling hills. I still have guests complimenting on how much they loved Salem Cross and everyone had a wonderful time. The experience felt intimate and special, which was very important to us. I also want to mention Martha, our host for the evening, she was warm and welcoming to all our guests. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone- you can be sure every detail of your wedding will be wonderful!

eresting setting, and professional staff. We found all of that, and more, at the Salem Cross Inn. A month has gone by and our guests are still talking about our "PERFECT" wedding (their words!). In fact, several guests are now making plans to host family gatherings at the Inn. We got married outside in front of the gazebo, and then invited our guests to go inside the lower level of the barn to watch the prime rib roasting in the fireplace while they enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks from an open bar. We also gave our guests the option to go on a fun hayride around the beautiful green rolling hills of the property and gardens. Our dinner options included the fireside prime rib, maple jack chicken, and honey dijon salmon. Everyone agreed that all three options were absolutely delicious and we saw lots of our guests sharing tastes of each dish. Rob Adams was the mastermind behind the music. He played acoustic guitar and sang two lovely duets with my cousin during the ceremony. The wonderful music from his 4-person band inspired everyone to dance for hours. Flowers were artfully arranged by Ladyslipper Designs. Natalie's beautiful floral creations adorned the gazebo, guests' chairs, haywagon, and were abundant in the dining room. Paula Roberts was our expert wedding organizer and her vast experience ensured a smooth running ceremony and happy guests. Piper Jo Nevins, our fabulous photographer, and her assistant Pat, kept everyone well organized for photos and her artistic eye found beautiful backdrops all over the Salem Cross Inn property. Finally, we would like to thank Nancy and Donna, who took the time to go through all the details and make wise recommendations on all the food options. Many thanks also to the entire staff at the Salem Cross Inn who are true professionals and were eager to ensure that everything was exactly the way we had imagined it to be for our special day. My husband and I were married here in November 2018 and it was truly our dream wedding! My bridesmaids, flower girl, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, and I all got dressed and had our hair and make up done upstairs in the bridal suite,...
and my husband and his groomsmen and our dads had another room upstairs where they could get dressed. It was big enough to accommodate getting ready, having lunch, and shooting our first look photos, and the space was beautifully decorated for Christmas, which we loved. We both loved the historic New England feel of the space, it's beautiful and cozy all on its own. We planned an indoor wedding in front of the fireplace, which we requested be lit, and Donna and Nancy accommodated our wishes. It felt so intimate and warm with the glow of the fire, even with 150 guests. They recommended Paula Roberts to coordinate the ceremony, and we hired her last minute - thank God! She did an amazing job and helped organize the last minute chaos that inevitably arises during rehearsal and getting everyone in place. She even stopped me right before I walked down the aisle to make sure my train and veil were perfect. Martha was there to coordinate the reception and did an amazing job making sure all of our vendors were in communication and the night flowed smoothly. We chose the apple pie for dessert and my husband and I were able to scoop the whipped cream for our guests - a memorable touch and a great way to see all of our guests! We've gotten so many compliments on that. Martha advised a few changes to our schedule when we were running a bit behind, and it helped keep the energy going through dinner and dancing. The whole day and night were truly magical, and we can't wait to go back and relive the memories we made there in the coming years! Thank you to the entire Salem Cross Inn staff!

Our wedding at Salem Cross Inn was perfection. The meadow and barn are gorgeous. We had so many comments from our guests on the beautiful space. The service was impeccable, and the food (especially the baked honey dijon salmon) was so tasty....
We can't say enough great things about Salem Cross. Nancy and her staff went above and beyond. They're very organized, no-nonsense kind of folks - we were in very good hands. We also liked that we felt we got great value from the venue, and Salem Cross did not nickel and dime us. They don't receive referral fees for recommending vendors; instead, they simply recommend who they've liked working there in the past. Their recommendations worked out perfectly for us. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day, and highly recommend Salem Cross for an authentic, rustic barn wedding experience. We worked with Barry for our flowers. Barry was also incredible, and we highly, highly recommend using him as your florist. Barry brought our vision to life. He was extremely organized and had everything prepared day of when we arrived. He even went above what we requested... since he had extra eucalyptus and other flowers, he added other flower decor to other parts of the room which were wonderful and perfectly in line with our taste. Barry also priced his services very competitively.

ll the venue is absolutely breathtaking, from the rolling hills and beautiful tree line to the rustic historical barn, everything you could ever want is here. The Salem Cross Inn is always very well kept and keeps the history of this property alive, and you can really see how much the staff truly love this venue. Second, Donna and Nancy are absolutely the best people in the world, they know EVERYTHING about weddings. They are always available to answer any questions you have and are happy to answer them and help, trust me I called them many many times and every single time I spoke with them I got a clear answer and a smile on my face. Nancy and Donna will do everything in their power to make sure your day is perfect and just how you want it, they are very open to ideas and will always accommodate if able. They give you clear guidelines on how to do certain things which really helps take some stress away from planning. The great thing is that on many of my other venue tours I just felt like "another bride", here at the Salem Cross Inn I really felt like Donna and Nancy cared about my wedding even though they had hundreds of other weddings going on. They also are very very prepared, during my reception my bustle got torn and guess who came to my rescue and spent the time safety pinning my dress back up?? Yep, it was Donna and Nancy. I can't say enough about these women and how they helped make my perfect wedding come true. Third is THE FOOD!! The food is to die for, if good food is something you are worried about, because trust me I have been to many weddings where the food is not good at all, then trust me when I tell you that you have no worries about food here at the Salem Cross Inn. We had the maple jack chicken and fireplace roasted prime rib, and oh my it was amazing. I am still to this day almost 1 month later getting compliments from my guests about how it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. And its not just those entrees, all of the food and appetizers are amazing trust me you can't go wrong. The Salem Cross Inn also gives you a preferred vendor list and they put these people on the list because they are great. We had Barry as our florist and we loved loved loved him. He goes above and beyond, I don't know what I would have done without Barry. The floral arrangements were breathtaking, he knew exactly where to put my decorations, and he made the whole experience so relaxing. He is a must need on this preferred vendors list trust me, you will not be sorry!! We also used Paula Roberts as our officiant and she was wonderful. She really takes the time to meet you and gets to know exactly what you want, she rehearses with you multiple times and really makes sure everything is perfect. She also gets to the venue early to make sure you are doing okay and everyone has everything they need. My wedding at the Salem Cross Inn was literally the best day of my life. I would not change one thing at all. The say that only the bride will notice the small details that are out of place, but I can honestly say that there were no small details because everything was perfect. Thank you so much to everyone at the Salem Cross Inn for the most wonderful experience and wedding.

d. We always felt that we were important and that they wanted our day to be very special. They were always available to answer questions, and also give suggestions to make sure the day ran smoothly. They truly have weddings down to a science and everything was perfect due to their knowledge and experience of what flows the best. We felt that they were very accommodating, allowing us a week beforehand to independently walk the building and grounds with our minister to work out some final details. They also were flexible with the time of our night wedding ceremony due to it getting darker in October.. we didn't to get married out in the dark. The food at Salem Cross Inn is delicious, superior to any wedding food that I have ever had. We had the chicken ritchie and the prime rib with seconds. The guests really enjoyed watching the meat cook over the open fire during cocktail hour, it added to the rustic charm of our wedding. There were even some menu items that I wanted to change, and they were right there to create a custom menu to meet our needs. We wanted to do an Irish Coffee after dinner with some cookies, and they had never done it before, but were quick to say 'we can do that'. We were impressed with how fair the pricing was for the whole event, but specifically the open bar. We were charged an estimate of what each person would consume through the night, and within the week after the wedding, my parents were sent a check back for the remaining amount from the bar tab that we did not use. Money was not exchanged on the day of the event either way. They said they did not want us to worry about it during such a special time. Overall, I cannot stress enough how their professionalism and courtesy sticks with us still as we reminisce about our wedding day. We were so happy with how it all turned out. So many of our 175 guests still tell us to this day that it was the best wedding that they ever attended. Salem Cross Inn now has such a special place in our hearts and we enjoy returning frequently for lunch throughout the year, and dining events such as the Deck the Halls (wreath making) at Christmas and the Fireplace Feast during the winter. We are excited to celebrate our first anniversary at Salem Cross at the end of the month!

rep were spot on. We went with their recommendations from their vendor list for DJ, photography, and busing. Also, we used their recommended wedding coordinator, Paula, who was another gem. She assisted in the marriage license process and rehearsal, among other things. Now for the staff and venue: We were on the verge of rain, the forecast called for rain all day. It turned out to be a light drizzle and a few drops were happening on and off during the ceremony, but we were able to hold the wedding outside, per the bride’s wishes. (Just in case we needed to be inside, the staff graciously set up both places for us -the tavern room for an inside wedding and the outside gazebo area. We greatly appreciated this incredible effort!) Cocktail hour was definitely going to be inside due to the weather. Again they left the final decision to the bride. Once the wedding ceremony was complete, the Tavern room was ready for cocktail hour. Again, we were grateful for the staff’s support and patience on this. The tavern room was awesome, a beautiful space to start the celebration. The staff and venue were also very accommodating with our prior setup needs - storing table decor and beautiful flowers arrangements made by a family member. The reception barn was beautiful! We were able to customize all the décor, arrange tables with pictures and wedding chalkboard art. The food was wonderful. The filet mignon dinner and chicken dinner were cooked to perfection. All we heard from our guests was how delicious everything was. The cupcakes for dessert rocked. The dance floor was good and the DJ’s had us dancing all night long. Now for the drinks and bar set up. 2 bar tenders were on all night. They provided great service. The speciality drink of choice by most was the Huckleberry Lemonade. Sooooo Good. Thought the price for open bar was very fair. Also the we had the rehearsal dinner at the venue. They customized the menu, gave the 20+ guests a private room. We went a light summer buffet - fruit salad, garden salad, chicken and roastbeef wraps and cookies. Very fresh and all good. Portions were more than enough. Wait staff did an excellent job keeping up with drink orders too. We now look back at the whole weekend and really would not have a changed a thing. We want to express our gratitude for making this a special day for the bride and groom and our families. The beautiful well maintained grounds and inside rustic barn venue, as well as, the service was nothing short of amazing. John and Jill D.

great, and the FOOD! Oh. My. Goodness. I am a food blogger and cook book author, so I knew the food would be expected to be better than most at my wedding, and I must say it was exceptional. The prime rib was perfect (au jus available upon request), and the chicken roulade I'm told was just as good. The potatoes blew everyone away and the veggies were fresh and delicious. My guests even had good things to say about the bread rolls! We have only the most minor of criticisms and nothing worth losing a star. Some of the costs surprised us (cake cutting fee was a bit higher than we were quoted, and we opted not to do water in the outdoor venue because of a $2/person estimated cost, and decided to have our cocktail hour inside to avoid a $250 bar fee to have drinks outside), but overall the staff was helpful and detailed with the process. The day of the event, despite being told we wouldn't have anyone from the Inn to help us, a host was actually on site and extremely helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. I would say so long as you make sure all the costs are on the table early, and you confirm exactly what help will be offered the day off, you'll be great! They provided me with a list of vendors they recommend and this made it so much less stressful to select a photographer and florist and limousine driver. On our wedding day, they welcomed us and brought us to a room where we could have pictures taken. The outside grounds were beautiful -- one of the top reasons we chose this restaurant for the reception -- and made for fantastic photos even though it was a rainy, windy day. reception in the barn. The chairs for the wedding ceremony were setup hours in advance, which was great because we were able to get out there and decorate early. The barn was also setup early, which made putting out centerpieces and all of the extra decor very easy. We used the bridal suite for hair and make-up - we ate lunch, had mimosas - it was fantastic! Donna and Nancy were always checking in and giving updates, which was much appreciated. The reception went perfectly - the food came out on time and was piping hot! No cold chicken or prime rib for anyone. All the guests commented on the delicious food and how full they were by the end of it. They were there to help us with the cake cutting, the bridal party introductions, seating the guests, everything! Most importantly, Nancy and Donna helped us throughout the entire planning process. I had at least 3 in person meetings with them, and countless e-mail and phone conversations. They were very helpful and accommodating to the special touches we wanted to add to our wedding. They offered suggestions to help make the reception go smoothly, which was great. They also let us store all of our decorations upstairs before the wedding, and we were able to pick them up the next morning. All of our guests kept commenting on how much they loved the venue and loved the food. The location was perfect for photos, and was the picture-perfect New England setting that we were going for. I would recommend the Salem Cross Inn to anyone. It was a gorgeous venue, fantastic food, helpful staff, and so much more. ith a strong historic and rustic feel, every single vendor and staff member the Salem Cross Inn works with made our wedding day perfect and stress free. We worked with Donna and Nancy through every stage of the process and not only were they extremely flexible and accommodating, they also have wedding planning down to a science and provided great suggestions when needed. We decided to use many of the vendors they suggested from their preferred vendors list and it was the absolutely best decision to go with their trusted vendors. To start, we decided to hire Paula Roberts as our Justice of the Peace for our ceremony. She knew exactly what she was doing and guided us through planning the ceremony and the entire rehearsal ran seamlessly. We were also able to file for our marriage license with her and she took care of all the paperwork so that on our big day, the marriage license was ready to go. Heather of Turkey Hill Photography was our photographer and she was just the sweetest! She is direct (in a good way!) and captured everything we wanted in a timely manner. Following the ceremony, we were able to get all of our formal photos done in the cocktail hour so that everyone could truly enjoy their meal and the reception. She was outstanding! Finally, Barry Mongeon was our florist and if there is anyone you need to hire from their preferred vendors, it's this man. He was utterly fabulous. The floral arrangements were STUNNING and he went above and beyond helping me with all of my needs on my wedding day. All and all, this place is phenomenal and their staff (including their bartenders and wait staff) are the biggest reason our wedding day was flawless. The food is incredible and the overall mood they've cultivated with their outdoor gazebo and barn is romantic, soft and charming. It's truly a hidden gem in MA!

(Posting this with praise and ending with a warning - please read all the way through.) Thank you 1 million times to the people at Salem Cross Inn, not only for preserving a beautiful structure that means so much to our community's history, but...
for also allowing brides like me to host spectacular weddings there. Our guests were blown away by the stunning setting - the budding gorgeous garden outside in summer with turkeys and cows nestling into the verdant hills behind the white gazebo, the enchanting and so well decorated bridal suite (with a shower! Perfect after running around and decorating all morning in the heat before a ceremony), and the incredible picture-perfect wood barn, perfect for photos inside and outside in front of its doors! We were just blown away. We even used the upper mezzanine level for a photobooth. Guests had fun mixing between both levels (and the upper space is great for snapping photos from up above). We could not have afforded this wedding without the Salem Cross Inn's reasonable pricing, and we were able to cut costs dramatically by having our large wedding on a Sunday rather than a Saturday. We looked at 20 wedding venues in the area and found this restaurant to be the most affordable and least expensive while simultaneously the most beautiful. Thank you especially to Donna and Nancy for all of your warmth and kindness and help in understanding our needs. We will recommend this place highly for the future - the rustic chicken and English cut sirloin meals were amazing. So delicious! People spoke of it all night (and the potatoes were heavenly). Also special thanks to Donna for working with me on my design concepts to create the most beautiful rustic-style frosted lemon-raspberry cake with fresh raspberries lining the edges. Beautiful! Be aware going in that the Salem Cross Inn likes to communicate primarily by phone instead of email. It's a problem for brides who work full-time jobs while planning a wedding, so just be aware and plan accordingly. Though we had a wonderful time at the restaurant, I have to post a strong recommendation to not hire the in-house florist Barry Mongeon. We had a horrible experience with him and his conduct. I would urge brides to stay far away.

sy to deal with, comforting, attentive, and expert in every way, Nancy, Donna, and Martha were incredible hosts. The outside ceremony was beyond beautiful and picturesque. Salem Cross works with local vendors for all your wedding needs right down to the flowers and officiant- and we used the recommended officiant, Paula, and florist, Barry. The flowers were incredible and were brought from the outside ceremony to the inside reception area during the hour long outside cocktail hour after the ceremony was over, and it made the reception venue that much nicer. Paula was perfect and accommodating beyond out expectations. We had 170 people and the venue was a superb fit. The staff made not one mistake. The melt in your mouth food is legendary and it did not disappoint on the day of the wedding. The cake they made was 5 star and scrumptious. And the price was right as well. Plenty of parking and, in case you leave anything at the venue by mistake, they call you the next day to let you know. Our guests are still talking about the wedding. Comments include, "this was the best wedding I've ever been to," "incredible touch of class," and many more of the same type. We hired the well known Boston band "Tuxedo Junction" (they are FANTASTIC) and their band leader, Larry Milton, told me this wedding was the best they have played at in over a decade. Since they have done hundreds of weddings in that time, I would have to say that is a ringing endorsement. And they even have wedding bridal party rooms upstairs to use in preparation of your wedding party before your ceremony on the special day...... a nice touch. If you are considering a venue, please do not overlook the 5 star Salem Cross Inn. I promise you will not be disappointed.

minutes of visiting the Colonial-era Salem Cross Inn, we knew this was the perfect place for our wedding day! We even had lunch to sample the food and were very impressed with the meal. After several months of planning, our wedding day finally arrived and it was honestly a day beyond our wildest dreams! Nancy and Donna were a delight to work with, always personally calling with answers to questions we sent them by email. They always had creative suggestions for various things that came up. They were very prompt with responding back and were always so pleasant to talk to! The weather on the day of the wedding was beautiful, so we had our ceremony outside amongst the gardens and country fields. Our photographer took full advantage of this, resulting in many dramatic and beautiful photos. All through the day, Nancy, Donna, and their staff focused on every detail so that we were able to enjoy the day and celebrate. Everything went so smoothly from the moment I arrived in the morning to get ready, to when my husband and I exited the venue at the end of the day. The barn, where we held our reception, is very rustic and beautiful. It’s decorated with old artifacts, dark wood beams, and romantic white lights strung up by the ceiling. It’s an absolutely stunning location for a reception! We received endless compliments from our guests on what a beautiful, unique place Salem Cross Inn is and how amazing the food is. We'll definitely be returning to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, etc. We highly recommend Salem Cross to anyone!

urs in all things. I certainly understand that this is a business, and that the larger wedding would theoretically make the Inn more money, but the smaller wedding should not feel as though the Inn is "doing them a favor" for hosting their wedding at all. My fiancé and I really loved the Salem Cross Inn. The settings was gorgeous, the food looked delicious, but sadly the service was terrible; which is we chose to go elsewhere for our ceremony and reception. The ladies managing were very prompt in their response time for our questions and making arrangements to visit; however, when we visited the venue we were horrified. When we met with Donna, the tour of the property was maybe 10 minutes in length and she seemed rather annoyed with any questions we might have had. We practically had to run through the tour and we felt as though we were imposing on her precious time when we tried to ask her any questions. When we asked for specifics, the answers all depended on what the larger wedding would be doing that day. Such as: :"If it rains where would alternate ceremony be?" Her answer was along the lines "We'll we would have to see what the other wedding would be doing because they take precedence." Things like this made my fiancé and insecure about what would actually happen on our wedding day, as it was obvious we would be receiving second rate service. In short, we really wanted the Salem Cross Inn to host our wedding, but it became painfully obvious this wasn't going to happen because of the how terrible management was. If you are looking to have a smaller wedding here and a larger wedding is happening on the same day, expect the leftovers from larger wedding, because that is what you'll get.

I always included the wedding date and my phone number in every email. Their house florist, Barry, was unbelievably kind and creative and flexible. He took the few decorations needed and turned the stone room for the ceremony and the barn for the reception into the most beautiful, rustic, elegant, and romantic experiences I've ever known. All of the flowers were stunning. Absolutely stunning. The food was delicious (they served the fireplace roasted prime rib and maple jack chicken), the staff was incredibly hospitable, the venue was beyond beautiful. Paula Roberts officiated the ceremony. She was all business, but pleasant to work with. We had a five-person band and they fit comfortably in the space provided. The full length of the dance floor was filled the entire time. There were other events taking place the same night at the inn, which I wasn’t expecting until later in the planning process. But we were treated like royalty by everyone, staff and strangers alike; it didn’t even phase us. I would change NOTHING about the evening. Three weeks later and our guests are still calling and texting to tell us it was the best wedding they’d ever attended. Best food, best experience, best all around. I had originally wanted to get married in October outside but that was unavailable, now after getting married inside I couldn't imagine anything else. The room was decorated already with beautiful twinkle lights, the chairs they use aren't cookie cutter wedding folding chairs but vintage benches and chairs that really complete the space. We then added some decorations of our own which just made the space as a hole absolutely stunning! The barn was equally beautiful. The barn itself truly doesn't need much decorations however I did bring in a lot. After everything was said it done it was more then I could have asked for!
