Let me start by saying that we always dreamt of have our wedding at Salem Cross Inn every time we drove by it. We had 3 months to plan our fall wedding; took a chance and called th...em and they (Donna and Nancy) were so nice and professional and had availability. From our first meeting with them, they started planning our dream wedding and gave us many options. When we met to bring our decorations, they noticed our wood slice centerpieces were too big, we were a bit bummed. However Donna and Nancy’s quick thinking and excellent memory, recalled they had extra wood slices in the correct dimensions. They literally saved the day and our decoration debacle. We opted to use the small tap room that fits about 40 people (we had 41 including the grooms) and went with the fireplace prime rib (which came with repeat servings) and baked haddock as our dishes. They did not disappoint with the quality farm to table experience they offered; cake was beautiful, and the food was delicious. The ceremony chairs by the gazebo were perfect. The room was cozy and charming. They went above and beyond to check on us throughout the day even while busy with other events and appointments. The wait staff were friendly and even ensured to bring us (the grooms) Hors d'oeuvres while we were taking photos. We had the sausage stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped scallops, pesto meatballs, and veggie quiche, absolutely incredible and so delicious. The baked rustic apple pie paired with fresh whipped cream which they’re known for was heavenly. Additionally we were given the option to place a heaping dollop of the whipped cream on each serving to our guests and we took full advantage. We owe a big thank you to Donna and Nancy, the wait staff (Jes and Dawn who were incredible, attentive, and had great personalities), chefs/bakers (who made the most incredible cutting cake with the inspiration we sent over). To mention the bartender (Joe), really saved the day when we forgot the elderflower liquor for our signature drink and quickly revamped the recipe and nailed it. We were fortunate enough to hear the cows mooing just before the start of the ceremony which added a whimsical touch. There were so many tears of joy, love, and laughter on our special day. If we could give the Salem Cross Inn more than 5 stars we would, not just for a beautiful venue on over 600+ acres set in a New England setting but for dinner as well. Thank you so much for everything you did to make our special day a dream wedding come true.
