Sally was a delight to work with! We were drawn to her documentary style that captured candid *moments*. Her portfolio showed that she had a solid understanding of composition, texture, and light & shadow. Additionally, it was important to us to have an inclusive photographer who respected all identities and cultures.
From the very beginning, Sally was open and communicative, taking the time to understand our wedding day, offering timeline suggestions, answering questions, and getting to know us and our style. We had multiple experiences on our wedding day, including a tea ceremony and lion dance, so there were many moving parts, making for a full day.
On the day of our wedding, Sally and her assistant, Gael, were prompt and starting working right way. Sally was geared up with multiple cameras and a harness. She even brought accessories to stage items for detail photos (such a ring holder and ribbon!). Sally was familiar with our venue, Lake Morey Resort, and had a lot of ideas on where to take photos (despite the slightly rainy day!). Additionally, Sally and Gael were extremely patient with our relatives, all of whom acted as paparazzi. We were super impressed with the photos Sally captured, despite our relatives randomly jumping in to grab a photo on their phones! Sally and Gael were everywhere and oftentimes, we didn't even notice they were there to capture certain moments! They were truly professionals who kept up their energy and enthusiasm the entire day, and worked in harmony with our videographer and the venue coordinator.
Due to family request, our photos were a blend of candid shots and formal portraits. Sally balanced these perfectly, doing an excellent job with both styles of photography. We were impressed at how quickly we received sneak peeks. Photos from the entire day were delivered via an elegant USB flash drive.
Sally exceeded all of our expectations. Her photos captured real, candid moments, beautifully reflecting the joy of the day. We only wish we hired her for the entire weekend!

We gave Sally a challenging venue on a super rainy, dark day, but she absolutely delivered. Even though she was feeling a little under the weather, she was so friendly and got my favorite photo of all time. Sally was so nice from start to finish! I cherish these photos with all my heart!

Can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had with Sally and the beautiful pictures she took. Her artistry came through as she carefully selected the backdrop and perfect lighting for each photo. This resulted in so many great pictures we had a tough time selecting favorites. Her idea of having us walking through the meadow gave us the most romantic images. She was so much fun to work with and truly is the BEST!!!

Sally and her second photographer, Gael, were both so great to work with! They helped to guide the flow of our wedding day and the photos they took were so beautiful and creative. They somehow managed to capture exactly how we felt on that day in photos!
Sally’s documentary style photography was perfect for us, she photographed so many unexpected, quirky & fun moments that we are so grateful to always have to look back on! We cried looking through our full wedding album (which we got back so quickly!!).
It was also great getting to know Sally and Gael, and we felt like they both took the time to get to know us and our family. We felt really comfortable and confident being in their hands!
Sally also took time out of her busy schedule earlier in the month to travel to a meaningful location to us for our engagement photo session. She caught rain, lighting, and moments of sunshine on camera. She’s truly an artist!! I highly recommend choosing her as your wedding photographer!!

Sally did a beautiful job with our wedding photos. She took hundreds of incredible photos that were edited in a natural style with the beautiful real colors of the scenery showing - just like we had hoped for. On the day-off, Sally and her second shooter Gael were professional, organized, and did a great job of capturing the shots we cared most about. Sally has a very creative eye and you see that through some of her photos, but she also is just a professional in the wedding photo business and clearly knows what to do and how to capture the best shots. We were really happy with how our photos turned out and our experience with Sally on the day of our wedding. We’d recommend her to anyone else getting married in the greater VT or surrounding New England areas!

My wife and I, who were married in August 2021, cannot say enough good things about Sally! She and her second photographer, Gael, did an absolutely incredible job shooting our wedding. Sally had done our engagement shoot, so we knew she would produce beautiful photos, but we could not have anticipated how many amazing moments Sally and Gael managed to capture on our wedding day. Not only were they great at creating beautiful shots and carefully crafted poses, but they also captured many candid moments that we didn’t even know were being photographed.
Even working in sometimes tight quarters (such as trying to shoot around a mini-fridge in out hotel room!) or battling ever-changing outdoor light to find the perfect angle, Sally and Gael remained cheerful, professional, and wonderful throughout. They made my wife and me feel that our wedding was truly special and we cannot wait to see the final photos! Based on just the couple of previews we’ve seen, we know they’re going to be incredible. We are so, so happy that we had Sally and Gael with us to capture so many wonderful memories on our wedding day.

We are so happy we had Sally to photograph our wedding ceremony! Sally always responds so quickly to emails and has been so flexible with all the changes we have had to make due to the pandemic. She is very pleasant, easy to work with, and extremely well organized. She made us feel very comfortable and all the photos turned out so beautiful! In our interactions with Sally, she has shown herself to be such a knowledgeable professional. We were fortunate enough to choose a venue with which Sally is familiar. She was able to provide detailed guidance based on her knowledge of lighting. This helped us make specific choices (e.g. arranging ceremony to avoid excessive shadows) which we never would have thought of without her expertise. We are so glad we chose her, and at this time with uncertainty, she's been extremely responsive. We look forward to working with her on our wedding day.

Before we even signed a contract, she spent almost an hour on video chat learning about us, answering our questions, and explaining how she operates. Sally was prompt with initial inquiry, worked with me and our budget, and my vision for the day. She was flexible and so helpful every step of the way. She has TONS of experience with weddings, so she was so helpful with advice and what has worked well in the past. We communicated through out the entire planning process. Sally and her 2nd photographer, Gael were amazing day of. They were prompt with their arrival and started right away. They were friendly, professional, and we could tell that they truly enjoy the work that they’re doing. The finished product/photos were amazing, they truly captured our perfect day perfectly.

Planning any sort of wedding during a pandemic is extra stressful (even if it is an elopement/minimony!). Working with Sally, though, was stress free!!! After our first email exchanges, I knew Sally was perfect for our special day. She arrived early to capture some shots of the venue and florals. Her attention to detail is incredible and she made sure to work with us with any special request we had! We just received our photos, and we know we will be looking at these with happy memories for months and years to come! There are simply no words to describe how phenomenal Sally was. We searched far and wide for a photographer who really understood what we wanted- nothing cheesy, just authentic pictures that captured our love. And boy did Sally do that! She stepped up without question when our original plans were thwarted due to COVID and drove 2 hours to capture our elopement. The pictures were beyond perfect and Sally was such a pleasure to work with! We can’t wait for next year when we get to work with her again for our wedding part II!

Amazing work and professionalism
Sally and her assistants were absolutely amazing to work with. She provided timelines for the day of, was extremely responsive and very organized. Our wedding day went very smoothly and we were able to stay on track with our photos, even finishing early. Sally provided an almost immediate sneak peak of photos which were stunning. Her eye for photography is incredible and she was so quick to send the finished photos. We are so blessed to have found her and highly recommend her for her wedding photography and fine arts portraits. Thank you again Sally!

Sally was great! From the beginning she was responsive to initial emails and met us before our big day to see the venue and discuss what to expect. She is kind and engaging. Most importantly, the pictures are beautiful! She captured some wonderful moments and post wedding she did a few touch ups on some pictures to make sure we were happy with the results. We had Sally as our photographer for our wedding recently at the Mountain Top Inn and Resort. She was so incredibly professional and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be apart of our big day. She knew the venue so well which really saved time because she knew the best locations based on lighting. She was extremely knowledgable and was able to direct us to create great pictures. She also made everyone feel super comfortable. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

We booked Sally for our first wedding anniversary shoot and could not have been more pleased with the results. She was professional, efficient, and kind and she was great at getting us to relax and open up for the photos. She spoke with the Innkeepers where we were staying and with her help they agreed to let us shoot the photos at the beautiful Jackson House Inn. The images were gorgeous and we are so happy with the results. Thank you Sally! You made our first anniversary extra special!

Next to my daughter's birth, her wedding was the only other thing that brought me such joy. To have photos of this day was VERY important to me. Sally Carpenter was professional in every respect and her photos reflected it. My daughter and I sat on the couch with tears in our eyes as we went through the pictures she took.
We laughed and cried and couldn't believe she took some of the ones she did, we didn't even know she took them!
I highly recommend this photographer.

I could not have asked for more beautiful pictures! Sally caught so many special moments and some of her pictures actually made me cry they were so emotional. She got everything to us within two weeks, except the album, which was so so beautiful when it came, it was worth the wait. She is also very friendly and happy to take pictures I had in mind. She is especially good with children.

I have had three girlfriends get married in the past year and my pictures are so much better than any of theirs. One friend paid almost twice as much for her photographer. Sally is great and she did such a fantastic job, we could not have asked for anything more. If you can afford her, hire her!
