The Old Barn and Homestead at Salomon Farm Park is a hidden gem when it comes to wedding venues! The old barn is a beautiful event space that needs little extra decor to make it s...
pecial and the venue has a few arches available to rent for a limited extra cost, including an awesome hexagon. The Homestead was a unique and beautiful location to get ready adjacent to the venue.
And the most important part, this venue is SUPER affordable relative to all of the other barn and rustic venues in the area because it is actually part of the Fort Wayne public park system. This means there isn't as much coordination involved, but we had no problems and Deanna was very helpful along the way.
Beautiful venue at a very affordable price!
We really liked Salomon from the beginning, but looked at tons of other venues before deciding on Salomon. We went with a Sunday in August since Saturdays were booked until October...
. Karla at Fort Wayne Parks and Rec was easy to deal with. We used outside catering so our catering people had to submit insurance information, etc. in order to be approved. Other than that, it was easy. The rate for Salomon is very cheap, but they do charge you for their staff to be there as well as a Sheriff during the time of your alcohol is being served. We did ceremony and reception there, and turning things over from ceremony to reception was very quick. They provide chairs and tables, so we just had to rent table cloths. It was a simple, beautiful wedding and having it anywhere else just wouldn't have been what we wanted!
Loved this place! Had our ceremony and reception here. The barn is beautiful so we needed few decorations, and did the ceremony outside. Great price too!
The only problem is you ...
need to book way in advance because they fill up quickly and also it is difficult to get ahold of the guy who runs it.
