We’re Darryl Ann (she/her) and Joe (he/him) - a husband and wife team offering wedding and elopement photography in Seattle and beyond. We believe photography should be fun, effortless, and authentically you - and we're here to prove everyone who thinks they are awkward in front of the camera wrong.
We are LGBTQ+ and BIPOC inclusive, Leave No Trace Aware, and believe Adventure is for Everyone.

On a wedding day, we pose only when necessary and strive to never interrupt a natural moment. This means we’re always preparing for the next picture-worthy moment and constantly thinking on our feet. This allows you to stay in the moment and soak up all the love and emotions while we do the heavy lifting to ensure those moments are preserved forever.

ecommend them more. First, their photo skills are PERFECTION. We adore our wedding photos and our engagement photos. They are excellent communicators and professional. I can't stress how important it is to work with professional vendors. Their contract software was easy and informative, they are DETAILED in all communications, cover all bases/questions etc. When I think of Salt and Pine, I think of two people who are deeply good at their craft, but who also have the nitty gritty business details all figured out. They are flexible, forward thinking people and that is who you need on your wedding day. ALSO! They TRULY know how to deal with couples. My hubby and I were all frazzled for our engagement photos, they calmed us down, showed us how to pose, and dealt with us perfectly. I could just continue to gush and gush over them, but please just hire them. I have high standards for people and these two went above and beyond!!!

rwhelming to figure out what you are supposed to do to get married in the mountains, and they were so incredibly helpful beforehand, walking us through what we should expect day of, timeline, contingency plans for inclement weather, etc. On the day of our elopement, they made our celebration absolutely perfect. And their communication style with each other was incredible to witness. They are like a fine oiled machine: efficient, clear, kind and respectful to each other and also to us and our witnesses (our brothers). We never stood around wondering what to do next, as they helped us keep a flow that allowed for celebration time with each other and our brothers (and our beloved best dog), but also plenty of time to take incredible photos that truly captured the beauty of our location. They were so fast with sending us sneak peak photos, and also with providing the final album. The photos took our breath away. We are so grateful that we worked with Darryl Ann and Joe, and can’t recommend Salt & Pine enough.

In terms of logistics, they offered some great advice prior to and after the wedding, and were happy to help in any way they could. They were on time for all meetings and on the day and returned e-mails very quickly. Do not hesitate to ask this talented couple to capture your special event!

Joe are easy to work with and made us feel comfortable. They helped us pose in a way that felt natural and as a result, our photos are very romantic. They are professional and personable photographers and understand and respect that your priority on your wedding day isn’t about the photographs, it is (and should be) about enjoying the presence of your spouse, family, and friends. They scheduled a few consultations with us where they answered our many questions and offered excellent ideas. We talked through the timeline and they suggested scheduling time to take photos of us as a couple and family photos before the ceremony began, so that we could be present with our guests for the duration of the evening. While this didn’t necessarily go to plan due to the rain, they did their best to ensure that we had amazing pictures together AND that we were present to celebrate with our guests.
They were prepared with their equipment and continued working in the pouring rain, offering reassurance and ideas for creative and unique photos. Once the ceremony started, they were in the background capturing the candid moments, conversations during the cocktail hour and dinner, and all the important aspects of the day.
They were flexible with us when we needed to postpone our ceremony due to the pandemic and they held our date while we coordinated with all of our other vendors to ensure that each of them was available on the new date.
We feel very fortunate to have such gorgeous wedding photos, and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives. We are so grateful that we had Salt & Pine as our photographers and we highly, highly recommend hiring them!

atural. Everyone raves about our photos. Throughout the pandemic, they were the only people that checked in on us and made sure we were doing ok, had a plan B and were willing just to talk it all. Our wedding day was flawless. They were punctual and were able to split up and take multiple shots of the bride and groom as well as the family. Everyone commented on how lovely they were. o extremely helpful during the whole wedding planning process. We were unfortunate with our original venue that closed down and caused us to search for another place to hold our wedding. Darryl Ann & Joe provided us with a long list of potential venues that were pet-friendly and we ended up picking one of those recommendations. Unfortunately again, we had to completely change our wedding plans, this time due to the pandemic. We decided to elope and relied heavily on their recommendations on adventure location and timeline. Salt & Pine were very flexible and accommodating throughout, even up to the day of, when there were reports of bad weather. Besides being such lovely and amazing people, they take the most incredible photos. We could not be happier with each photo taken and the memories they capture.

nd helped us in choosing the perfect locations for our vision. We were lucky enough to have two different sessions with them and got incredible pictures at the beach on the Olympic peninsula and in the mountains in Mt. Baker area. Even with the complications of COVID and the weather, they were so flexible and accommodating to make sure we got the exact pictures we wanted. My fiancé and I wanted engagement pictures that really captured the beauty of the PNW. We wanted pictures in epic backgrounds that showcased the beauty of the outdoors. Darryl Ann and Joe did exactly that! Our jaws literally dropped when we saw our pictures. They completely exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed getting to know them. My husband hates photos and by the wedding, he was feeling more comfortable with it. Another perk with Salt & Pine is getting two photographers. That way, not a single moment is missed. nd Darryl Ann and Joe. They did our engagement shoot, my boudoir shoot, and our wedding. Every step of the process was professional, comfortable, creative, and fun.
The second we met them for our first virtual meet-and-greet, we knew we made the right choice. They were so helpful and informative and they answered my 10,000 questions. When we met them for our engagement shoot, they instantly made us feel comfortable and were able to capture me and my husband perfectly. And then, of course, our wedding. I was honestly relieved when I saw them the morning of our wedding because I knew they had everything handled. They took every single one of our asks and delivered... and then gave us even more. I find myself looking through our wedding photos often and every time, I find a new, beautiful moment that Darryl Ann or Joe captured that I hadn't noticed, but they did. These moments are so special to us.
And lastly, I'd be remiss if I did not talk about the boudoir shoot. Darryl Ann was so professional and made me feel so comfortable. I walked away from that session feeling so good about myself and the photos were absolutely beautiful!

A” person and like to do all my research, and before deciding on a photographer for our wedding I did just that, creating a spreadsheet to compare many different photographers in the area. So if you’re like me, just read and scrap the spreadsheets! :)
These two impressed us from the start and we immediately felt we could trust Darryl Ann and Jo with capturing this most important day. I love that even the small details don’t elude them. They listened to our priorities and customized our experience to fit. When we went on our engagement “adventure session” last winter, they knew the best locations for a great shot and even offered a map of their favorite places around Washington. Again, the “type A” in me found this very helpful! They even notified us of inclement weather and were flexible enough to adjust the schedule when snow prevented our initial session. They made us feel so comfortable and by our wedding day, it was like we had good friends present who blended right in and celebrated alongside us. They think about what’s important for couples on their wedding day and put a lot of heart and time into what they do. Nothing ever goes exactly to schedule on your wedding day, and they are very intentional about making sure the stress doesn’t reach the bride and groom. They helped create a sense of calm even when I know they had a lot to accomplish with less time than expected pre-wedding due to hair & makeup. They also made sure to coordinate with our vendors and understand “day of” essentials. They are involved every step of the way, whether it be check-ins, questionnaires, video calls or email communication. Our photos reflected the thought and expertise of these two, and we’re so happy we decided to go with Salt & Pine. Speaking of the photos, they’re incredible! They have a way at finding the light and each precious moment. Also, you receive an album after your wedding which is something few photographers offer – it’s like the cherry on top. If you’re looking for photographers who know their craft, are professional and can create a relationship that strengthens the whole experience, book these two right away before someone else does! o be our photographers. They have stunning images and capture couples so well and also do it in a very nature oriented way. Our engagement photos turned out great and we love them!! We had a few meetings throughout the wedding planning process to get on the same page and they always went so smoothly. The wedding day was great! They showed up early to the salon and took pictures while we got hair and make up done. Then were at the hotel taking pictures getting ready. Darryl Ann even drove me to the first look to see my husband!! I knew the area I wanted to have pictures done and they scouted the area early to see where would be the best photos. They were great in directing us in our couple photos and in the bigger group pictures. They were great at the ceremony and reception as well! They were always around to take a picture if we wanted and were snapping all night long while we danced and visited with our family and friends. We have seen a few photos that we already LOVE so much and can't wait to see the rest of them! after scrolling through their website, I knew I wanted to work with them -- they are pet-friendly, they have very unique package options, and their portfolio is amazing! As anticipated, working with Salt & Pine was wonderful and we absolutely ADORE our pictures!! Communicating with Darryl Ann and Joe is very easy, they worked seamlessly with our other vendors, and had answers to all our questions (even on the day-of, amidst the craziness)! For those newer to the area, they can recommend fantastic locations, and will make you feel comfortable in any setting. After the big day, our guests had nothing but great things to say about Darryl Ann and Joe. Our wedding had approx. 50 ppl, and many guests felt they were part of the family. We did not hire a videographer, and with the quality/quantity of photos we ended up with, there was absolutely no regret! The other amazing part of working with Salt & Pine...the turnaround time was extremely quick! Our wedding was the beginning of Nov and we shared the photos with our family by Thanksgiving!

It never felt like our suggestions to them were to bossy or too picky, in fact they even asked if we could go on Pinterest and find examples of types of photos we liked! Living in the Northwest though, they knew exactly what we were going for when we said Pacific Northwest BoHo Chic. It was very clear they wanted to produce the best photos for US.
As we were working from out of state they were very flexible with our schedules and worked with us as much as possible, even when we missed our boat to make it to our engagement shoot on time…oops. It was never hard to reach them or reschedule when we needed and they always were the first to show up.
This married photography duo will go out of their way to make your wedding as picture perfect (pun intended) as possible. They know how stressful planning can be, which is why they want to make sure they know who is “in-charge of each thing” they did this by walking through every item on their list with our day of coordinator and by the end of these conference calls I think they knew what was going on more than we did. That is the type of peace of mind you want on your wedding day!
We could not have been more pleased with how our photos ended up and even 6 months later Darryl Ann and Joe are still willing to edit things for us as they come up and are SO PROMPT in doing so. We love them and would recommend them to any of our family or friends.

s we were looking for. We really wanted an adventure shoot, and they were very patient in explaining the options, showing us examples from their portfolio, discussing locations, etc.
Unfortunately, they were already booked on the only day our venue was available, but this is actually why I’m writing this review. (As an aside - we were looking at a date over a year in advance, which speaks to how popular they are.)
Though we weren’t able to book them, they were still SO gracious and sent us recommendations for other photographers. They even took it a step further and verified that the photographers were available on our date. We were so impressed and grateful that they were able to help us out – they really proved themselves to be amazing people. Main takeaway of this experience? Salt & Pine are great to work with and you should book when ASAP! It’s no wonder they were already booked so far in advance!

They worked very well together and ran the photo shoots efficiently and professionally. Darryl Ann and Joe are two of the nicest people and they are so accommodating. They helped us stay on time with the itinerary while still getting all the photos we wanted. They were especially great at capturing outdoor settings (they hiked almost two miles for the shots we wanted). I feel like we got to know them the most out of our wedding vendors and we would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. They also got our photos back much more quickly than other photographers quoted. Our photos turned out incredibly and many of my friends have told me they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. to receive compliments on them. Somehow, they were able to capture our casual, laid-back nature as a couple but still be artistic with their shots. They are also amazing at capturing "moments" rather than posed pictures (although those turned out great as well for the few we did!).
Joe and Darryl Ann are also the best when it comes to email/ phone/ Skype correspondence. They are very quick to respond to emails and questions. We first heard about Salt and Pine when they weren't living in our state (they're moving to Washington this summer) so they were quick to offer as close to an "in-person" meeting as we could get- Skype! We wound up Skyping multiple times which was so nice of them and really set our mind at ease.
Finally, I cannot say enough about their quality and value! I am still shocked at the amount of service as well as tangible photos we are going to be getting from them for our wedding and what we paid. Most Seattle wedding photographers are incredibly expensive and Salt and Pine is quite affordable, in my opinion, especially considering the quality of photography you will be getting. These guys are truly outstanding!
