About this vendor
Salt Flower is a flower shop and design studio in Amherst, Massachusetts. We do modern, ikebana-inspired wedding flowers — varied heights, blended palettes, space between the stems, usually one tall flower you weren't expecting. We design across New England, from the Berkshires to Boston to the coast.
HOW WE WORK
Send us your Pinterest board, your venue, the colors you keep coming back to. We turn that into a detailed floral plan: reference images, sketches, and a written description of every piece, from the bouquets to the ceremony installation.
We go back and forth on the plan until it's right. That way there's nothing to guess about on the wedding day — you already know what you're getting.
BUDGET
We talk about it in the first conversation. We'll tell you what's realistic at your number, what's worth spending on, and what you can cut without anyone noticing. We'd rather do a few things well than spread a budget thin across the whole room.
Full-service weddings start at $7,000. That includes installations, on-site styling, and a team from setup through breakdown.
Custom orders start at $800 — good for rehearsal dinners, smaller weddings, and events that need flowers but not a full production.
WHO YOU'RE WORKING WITH
Laura Mae Pfeffer is our owner and lead designer, with eight years designing weddings and events in New York City and New England (formerly as Until We Wed Flower Co.). She'll be your point of contact and the one designing your flowers.
She works with a team of designers in the studio and a crew on-site for setup and breakdown.
Our work has been featured in The New York Times and The Boston Globe.
"She distilled all of them into a cohesive, breathtaking floral plan." — Melissa + Jason

Laura and her team at Until We Wed Flower Co. are truly exceptional. I brought a wild idea of wanting a plant-based wedding to Laura, and she took it and made it better than what I...
hoped for. We worked together on plant choices and design for the centerpieces, including a DIY lighting feature made by my husband because we couldn't have real candles. She also took my plant requests into account when sourcing larger foliage for our ceremony background. For my bouquet, I wanted to include philodendron cuttings from one of my own plants and lace to wrap around the stems from my mom's wedding dress and she was happy to do both.
Speaking of my bouquet, I was unhappy with the size of my bouquet on my wedding day, and Laura came from another event with extra blooms in hand and remade the entire bouquet into the stunning final product seen in the photos. I will sing her praises to anyone who will listen!
Choosing Until We Wed was, without a doubt, one of the best last-minute (a month out) wedding decisions we made. If you're looking for a florist who not only listens but who can ta...
ke your ideas and absolutely crush the vision you have in your head, stop searching now.
I sent Laura a mix of different inspiration photos and she distilled all of them into a cohesive, breathtaking floral plan. She delivered beyond anything we could have imagined.

bouquet and I loved it so much that we've had it pressed & framed (along with my husband's boutonniere). The bridal party flowers perfectly complimented our own and the floral decor for both the ceremony & reception spaces were absolutely perfect! Thank you Laura!

anted within our budget. Our venue was very decorative so we kept florals to a minimum but Laura's designs still made a big impact. We highly recommend Laura and her team at Until We Wed!

make sure that we received exactly what we wanted. She worked within our budget and even made suggestions to keep cost down.
When we got to reception space we were floored! Laura really transformed the space. Everything was perfect! From the cake flowers to the table centerpieces, the bar, and the cocktail tables. I really can't tell you just how much we loved every single thing she did for us. I can't wait for the next time we are able to work with her and Until We Wed.

very good in keeping contact with us throughout the planning process, she would check in frequently and was always available to talk if we had questions. The day of the wedding Laura was great in execution from the bouquets to the table arrangements to the Chuppa - everything was impeccable. Highly recommend!
I absolutely loved the flower crown Laura made for me — and the matching boutonniere for the groom! She incorporated my vision to the fullest and worked her butt off in the making!...
The guests at my wedding couldn't stop raving about the flowers and plants on our tables! From start to finish, Laura was super responsive and easy to be in touch with. Thank you for making the vision a reality!

Do yourself a favor and let Laura beautify your wedding. Mine was a summer wedding and so we wanted our flowers to be colorful and different. We had some idea of what we wanted : s...
unflowers and wildflowers but beyond that I had no clue of design and arrangement. Laura's proposal based on her initial conversation with my husband was simply outstanding and her prices fairly reasonable. Throughout the process, Laura was very communicative and worked with us in getting the kind of bouquets and centerpieces that we wanted. I also really appreciated that if she disagreed with any suggestions of mine, she wasn't hesitant in speaking out. But she did it in a way that helped me understand why a certain flower or design suggestion won't work, instead of just dismissing the idea.
Since our bouquets and centerpieces were somewhat experimental, I was very nervous about how they'll ultimately end up looking. And honestly I couldn't quite picture what they'd look like. When I saw my flowers, I was blown away. They were way better than what my limited imagination could've ever conjured up. Laura is very, very talented.

for our big day. Best of all, the whole process was smooth, especially the day of-- while we were busy getting ready, Laura was on it making sure the flowers were set-up perfectly at the venue.

ong the way, even contacting me from the flower market to update me on the varieties and colors of the flowers.
In lieu of the traditional shower games/gift-opening activities, we opted to forgo gifts and hired Laura to teach us to make floral crowns. That lesson was a highlight of the evening. Laura's setup and organization was perfect and her lesson was so much fun for my friends and my daughter's.
I often read rave reviews about unobtrusive vendors, and when Laura was setting up and cleaning up, she certainly did so with quiet efficiency. But in our case, the whole group wanted Laura to stay with us after her lesson ended and join us for dinner! Several guests told me that she had fit in so well with our group, they'd assumed she was a friend doing us a favor.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Laura for any floral project - you will not be disappointed!!
Until We Wed did such a beautiful job for my bridal shower, that I decided to sell her creations in my jewelry store too! Very professional and super friendly and fun to work with.
