I was so excited to consider a wedding reception at the Salt Water grill after hearing so many great things about the place. I also saw so many 5 star reviews saying Amy was wonder...ful to work with. I, unfortunately, did not have that experience with her. Initially the communication started off strong then after not hearing back from her for 4 days, I started receiving automated texts and emails making me think she was answering me, but wasn't and it led to a lot of confusion. The emails made it seem like she was following up with me to see how my search was going- when I already had 2 outstanding emails to her with multiple questions waiting to be answered. I emailed and texted back- and continued to get no answer. So I decided to call after 6 days with no response- I was wondering if maybe she was simply away or out of the office for a period of time. After calling and being told Amy was out of the office until the following day at 2pm- which was no problem for me- I get a call immediately from Amy. I was excited to hear back from her. Unfortunately for me- she did not seem or sound too excited to be speaking to me. Amy had a very stern, aggressive, and disinterested tone. She kept asking what this was regarding, threw so much information at me at once and had zero customer service skills. At one point- I said to her- I feel like I'm really bothering you or something and she didn't skip a beat and said "nope I'm here to serve you"- I found that to be really off putting. It's hard to describe but it felt passive aggressive, fake, and like she's a very difficult person to deal with. I was thinking to myself, she must pay for those 5 star reviews because- no way did she provide great service to earn reviews like that. She gave me an appointment 2 weeks out to tour the place, which I almost said- I'm too uncomfortable to even schedule this. But. I did agree to schedule it. As the date approached, I decided ultimately to just move on as this being an option for my fiance and me. I canceled via email and then missed a call from the salt water grill. I asked my fiance to call back to see what this was in regards to and he had a similar experience with Amy and agreed that this is not someone we would want to have to interact with for the next year, planning the happiest day of our lives. I'm sure the food and venue and other staff are amazing, and I feel we missed out on a great option due to Amy's lack of customer service skills. I hope someone in management at salt water grill sees this and helps Amy learn from this because I was so excited to host my reception there and had to pass because of what working with Amy would have felt like.
