Sam and RJ rock! Sam is the perfect personality for any bride to work with. He is funny but easy going and professional. He did our engagement photos, which were stunning, and has already posted one photo of our wedding day which was gorgeous. Honestly I could write more but his work speaks for itself. Look at his Instagram and book him early so he’s available for your date!

Sam and his team were awesome for our wedding day! They listened to what kind of pictures we wanted and were so fun to work with. I also highly recommend Olivia for the video portion- she was amazing as well.

If I could have Sam Stroud's team follow me around for the rest of my life and document all of my adventures, I totally would. Sam came highly recommended to me, and after seeing him work first-hand at a friend's wedding, and scrolling through his amazing Instagram feed, I knew we would be in good hands on our wedding day. Sam and RJ were hilarious, so easy-going, and an absolute blast to have along for the ride. They worked quickly and listened to all of our requests, and definitely have their craft down pat. Our pictures were back a week after our wedding, and it was so fun to look through all of them while we were still flying from the wedding high! Although I hardly knew they were there once we walked down the aisle, they managed to get shots of every single detail. The day goes by so quickly, and there were moments you won't remember, but these folks will make sure you have all of the best memories forever.

We found Sam & RJ through our amazing wedding planner (shout out to Kim Newton!). She 100% pointed us in the right direction! Not only did the pictures come out to be amazing, but Sam & RJ made sure there wasn’t anything that Husband or I had to worry about (between a rain weekend, set up and pre-wedding jitters, Sam & his crew were ON IT). It rained our whole wedding weekend, but Sam and RJ still delivered the most beautiful photos we couldn’t even imagine anything better. Not only did they shoot the traditional shots we asked for (ceremony, portraits, and reception), but they also had fun, creative shot suggestions that captured the night and our relationship. They embraced every curve ball thrown at them and made sure that Hubs and I have photos of every beautiful moment of our wedding day. Even after the wedding, Sam and his crew ensured our photos were delivered on time and were very responsive. Zero regrets. Thank you, Sam, for catching all the moments that made our day so magical!

Sam and RJ were so great to work with. Sam did my engagement and wedding photos. I loved every single picture he captured of us. On the day of the wedding, they were so great about capturing every memorable moment and all the small details. Every time I look at my wedding photos, I feel like I'm reliving my wedding all over again. Also, Sam is really good about capturing the perfect lighting and is very thorough and detail oriented. I will definitely be using him again in the future.

The Sam Stroud team is so easy to communicate and work with. The duo we had at our wedding was professional but also really fun to be around. They stayed behind the scenes but also made sure my husband and I got all of the shots we needed.

I could not say more wonderful things about Sam and his team! He did our engagement photos, wedding photos and our wedding video. He definitely has a great eye and tells you exactly how to pose so it’s not so awkward. Him and his team come well dressed, very professional but also very personable and funny! Will definitely use in the future for family photos.. hopefully he does those! Haha

his review is somewhat premature since we've only received early rushes on my daughter's recent Washington, DC wedding. However, our photographers from Sam Stroud, led by RJ, provided such an amazing experience that I didn't want to wait. The best part of working with them was that they were fun and fit in seamlessly with the guests, were everywhere they needed to be to capture the story, yet were never obstrusive. The wedding party was huge (9 bridesmaids + 9 groomsmen), plus family, parents, etc. and yet they managed to get through the required photographs quietly, efficiently, and comprehensively. At the reception, they seemed to be everywhere at once. I can't wait to see the proofs and the video! Highly recommend Sam Stroud...Thanks, photo team!

I really can't describe how incredible Sam Stroud Photography is. We have this compilation of the most spectacular photos I could have imagined, but I could swear we hardly posed for photos. Sam and his staff captured moments that I didn't even get to experience myself, and I will always be able to re-live our wedding day through his lens. I highly recommend this relaxed group of extremely talented professionals.

This review is long overdo! My husband and I were very picky looking at photographers. I cannot tell you how many different websites and portfolios we looked through. By some miracle we came across Sam. We looked through his photographs and we knew he was the one for us. First of all, Sam is one cool dude and his staff is great. It was pouring rain and to calm my nerves, Lindsey was showing me doppler radar on her phone to reassure me that it would blow over... and it did. Second, I hate posing for pictures. I was super nervous to have our portraits taken and since we skipped engagement photos we've never done anything like this. Sam was great at directing, posing, and making it feel natural. He made me comfortable in the process even though I laughed the entire time (sorry about that)! Our pictures are beautiful and we are forever grateful to have those lasting memories. Thank you Sam and Lindsey for being a part of our wedding day! You guys are the best!

Words cannot express how thankful we are for having Sam, Mitchell, and Ellie as our photographers throughout the engagement and wedding. The pictures are absolutely incredible, and that's probably an understatement! So many people have told me that the pictures are the best they've ever seen! All three were so easy to work with. They made us feel comfortable and coached us throughout every picture so there were no awkward shots :) I couldn't recommend Sam and his crew enough, wish I could have them for every major life event!

When looking for our wedding photographer, I had two biggies: two photographers and all day service. Sam Stroud Photography is without a doubt the best bang for your buck if you share in my must-haves. We used Sam for our engagement photos and were so thrilled with the images, that we knew we made the right choice for our wedding the following year. Although Sam was our engagement photographer, Mitchell was our wedding photographer. I was a bit nervous about not meeting our actual photographer until the day of, but you can tell that Sam only hires and uses photographers who share the same professionalism and values that he holds, because Mitchell immediately felt like someone we had known forever after just an hour or so. My husband and I felt so comfortable during our photos if we were confused on a pose or felt like we looked silly, and Mitchell and our 2nd photographer Meredith were so awesome in reassuring us that we looked great and helping us feel more natural. Despite a website glitch, Sam was very prompt us getting our photos back to us within the contract time frame, and we could not have been more pleased with the results. So many of the candid photos captured were beyond my expectations, and have made our wedding day seem so real to us again every time we look at them. I don't think we can thank Mitchell, Meredith and Sam enough for making our wedding day 100x more beautiful and giving us the most special images that our family with treasure forever!

My husband and I couldn't have higher praise for the outstanding talent at Sam Stroud Photography. The company came highly recommended to us and we were eager to work with them. We were so lucky to work with Lindsey - she has brilliant artistic skills and you couldn't ask for a more engaging, wonderful personality! Our photos were absolutely spectacular. Lindsey is a great people-person and easily worked the crowd. The pre-wedding photos ran like clockwork and, during the reception, she did all her magic in the background. When we saw the photos, we realized she captured everything! Without reservation, we absolutely recommend Sam Stroud Photography and would hire them again for future special events.

Sam and his staff were pretty amazing! My wife and I decided to go high end for our pictures, as they are one of the most lasting things we'll have from our wedding. We hit a home run with Sam Stroud Photography! Sam was great from the beginning. We had a couple of initial hiccups with communication between us and Sam, and actually almost lost him as our photographer. He felt it was important for a good relationship to exist with his clients in order to have successful shoots. We agreed and were able to work out the communication issues. Once over that hurdles, we did not regret hiring Sam one bit! His pictures, for both our engagement session and wedding day were stunning. He really knows his stuff, and we have received so many compliments on how the pictures turned out. Sam was easy going, and made us feel comfortable the whole way through both shoots. Outside of the separate interactions for pictures on the day of the wedding, it was almost as if Sam and his assistant were not at the wedding, but what they documented from the whole day was awesome! Sam also uses a lot of social media, and getting some of your photos early through Instagram and Facebook was great! Teaser photos got us that much more excited about seeing the rest. Hire Sam Stroud Photography and you will NOT regret it! We highly recommend him!

I found Sam Stroud Photography late into my wedding planning process. I had actually used a different photographer for our engagement photos, didn't love the photos, and thought I wouldn't be able to find a great photographer within budget. But then a coworker recommended Sam Stroud, and I never looked back! Sam Stroud is very professional and easy to work with...from contracting to payment to scheduling, it was all seamless. Lindsey Hinckley was my assigned photographer and we actually didn't meet until the day of the wedding. But I could not have been happier with her and my wedding photos. I never tend to like photos of myself and always felt uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Lindsey worked so well with me to make sure I got a great photo every time. Every bride deserves to be this happy with their wedding photos. Also, I received ALL the photos within 3 weeks of my wedding, which is amazing, as I know brides who have waited 6-8 weeks for all photos. Again, could not be happy and would highly recommend to any bride!

Because my wedding was planned for a different state than I live in, I met Sam on the morning of my wedding. One of the things I was most nervous about for my entire wedding was being photographed, because like probably most people I have zero idea how to pose for them. Within 5 seconds of meeting Sam, I felt instantly at ease. Sam and RJ made the process of taking pictures not only easy, but incredibly fun. I found that I looked forward to when my husband and I would go off to take more pictures. If there were more than 5 stars, Sam would get each and every one of them. He's clearly built a wonderful team to work with him as well, because my husband I loved RJ! My wedding was on Friday, and I already have the completely stunning images. Every single image is a work of art, and it's hard for me to believe that I am actually a part of those pictures because they are so incredibly beautiful. If you are in need of a photographer who is not only enthusiastic and fun, but one of the most talented people you'll ever meet, Sam is the only option!

Sam Stroud came highly recommended to us from a friend's wedding planner. The entire process was professional and we knew exactly what we were getting. RJ Goodwin was our day of photographer, he was on time, professional and creative with our pictures! I would recommend Sam Stroud's team to anyone getting engaged, married or for any pictures!

We loved our photographer - very easy to work with, has two shooters, which helps capture more images - both creative and traditional, so you get some of both. The only the thing that went wrong is that they forgot to get pictures of the groom and his family before the ceremony, even though we had sent them a list and a schedule of shots.

We loved Daryl and Johanna for our wedding. They were a rock star pair who worked with us to capture our wedding. We actually haven't seen our final products yet, but we thoroughly enjoyed working with them and loved the sneak peek photos we have seen. Everyone at the wedding told us how great our photographers were and how they were everywhere throughout the night capturing an unimaginable number of shots. Plus, we feel we got a great deal for the area, getting two photographers for the entire day, on our schedule. Loved them!

Sam and his staff were very professional and were hardly noticed throughout the evening's events, and they captured everything as it naturally happened, without creating posed and staged appearances. I can't wait to see the results!

This is a great service--we have so many wonderful pictures from our special day that we will treasure forever. We have classic, beautiful pictures as well as funny, unique ones. The staff is very flexible and laid back to make sure you feel completely comfortable. We used them for our engagement shots as well as our wedding.

Sam was amazing to work with. Even my husband loved to have his picture taken after Sam worked with us. We love his creativity and style. Now we can remember our wedding day as beautifully as it was in real life! Sam's pictures are worth more than 1000 words... they make you speechless!

Even though we did not have Sam Stroud take our pictures, I have met him before and he is a wonderful person and photographer. We had Daryl Calfee who works for Sam Stroud Photography and he was wonderful as well! Our engagement pictures were excellent so we knew we were in good hands for the wedding. Just got married so haven't gotten anything back YET but I know they will be great! Easy to work with, you feel an instant comfort and ease with him while he takes the great shots! Awesome ideas and very creative and that definitely shows in the pictures! Very decent pricing as well! You get tons for your money and its definitely worth it!

Sam Stroud captures love like no one I have ever seen. He is extremely amiable and is the first to make sure that you are getting what you want in your pictures. He and his team of photographers are extremely talented and I have absolutely adored each picture I have seen thus far! He is also incredibly fast in giving you a taste of your pictures asap. I believe that my husband and I got our sneak peek within a day of being on our honeymoon. He sent us the unfinished (but amazing) cut of our wedding video and also put pictures on his website and facebook sending us the links to see right away. It was so special to see those things right then and there. He really does put those he works for first and does all he does with excellence. I recommend him to everyone!

My wedding planner and photographer seemed to not get along from a previous wedding. I had high hopes for stunning pictures on my husband's and mine BIG day that were not brought to fruition, however some nice pictures did come about from the money I spent. *Quick Tip: Make sure there is no confrontation between your venues. You do not have to pay for drama and with it being your BIG day you do NOT deserve to. *Quick Tip: Make sure you KNOW who you are getting to do your pictures. I had an assistant take mine while the real photographer took my husband's. So all of the pictures of me getting ready and following the ceremony with my bridesmaids, and attending bridesmaids were not exactly the quality I desired and thought I was getting when I signed the dotted line.

Sam is great to work with, he is very professional and honestly - the service was worth way more than he charges. We gave him a list of shots to get, and I never had to check or remind him. One of the shots was a bouquet shot, and I completely forgot about it until the next day - but he remembered and they came out beautiful!

I can not write enough wonderful things about Sam Stroud Photography. I found him through a few friends whose wedding Sam had done before. I do photography as a hobby, so this was one of the most important parts of my whole wedding. I was looking for someone who was creative, yet classic all in one blend. I found this and more in Sam Stroud's photos. He and his assistant worked very hard on our wedding day to provide us with shots that were breathtaking. they were easy to work with, creative, and not "in your face". I have and will again recommend Sam Stroud as a photographer for any wedding. Sam drove up to Northern Virginia (Leesburg) to shoot our wedding, even though he is in Lynchburg (central virginia). You know that someone is a great photographer when he is so busy and in such high demand and can still produce authentic, beautiful and well-thought-out shots. He put so much effort into our wedding, even though he had shot one the night before. You can not find someone better out there.
