Sam did an absolute PHENOMENAL job with our wedding!! She was the calming presence that we needed on our wedding day and knew exactly what to say and do to make our pictures look absolutely stunning! We have so many amazing pictures to choose from thanks to her! I can not say enough good things about Sam! She truly helped make our wedding day so amazing and we are thankful she was a part of it. This is a very hard review for me to write because I don’t know how to explain how good these pictures are. All photographers hopefully take good pictures and capture moments but some how Sam does more than that. It’s kind of like seeing your ideal self but it’s actually you. Sometimes in the past Ive seen pictures of myself and say ooh let’s not do that again, I’m not photogenic. But every single picture from my engagement shoot and from my wedding I looked natural, madly in love and beautiful. I actually found Sam when I was looking through a bridal magazine, and quickly found that wasn’t just a “best shot” that happened to end in a magazine- her entire gallery looks like that. It’s one thing to take pictures it’s quite another entirely to tell a story and to link memory and emotion with no words. I have to pick 70 of my favorites to put in a book and it’s impossible because I get so moved whenever I look at them. My experience working with Sam could even be a whole separate review because she is just so joyful. She doesn’t come in with a “script”, she really does adjust your experience to fit you, the weather, the scenery, the outfits etc. Which means that every gallery is truly unique. Everyone thinks taking pictures are awkward and she makes it not feel like work. She the perfect mix of professional (you do not have to tell her to get a shot of your partner looking at you coming down the aisle for example) and conversational. It’s truly like your friend is just hanging out with you. I always feel like reviews with too many good things just sound fake, but personally I don’t want a photographer for such an important day that I don’t trust 1000% to do her thing and deliver me insanely gorgeous photos without adding to my stress. To summarize-hire Sam and be glad you did for years to come. I go out of my way to send my gallery to everyone because it looks like my very own magazine shoot.

Working with Sam was one of my absolute favorite parts when planning my husband and I’s wedding. From initial phone call to the wedding day working with her was one of our best decisions. She is truly a unicorn of a person! Her passion for photography and helping others is unmatched. She is a phenomenal communicator, beyond organized, creative beyond belief, talented and lastly one good human. She brings calmness and good energy wherever she goes. My husband has never had professional photos taken of himself besides the good ol’ team sports photos/work headshot and he was very nervous about the engagement/wedding photos because they were totally out of his comfort zone. Within 5 minutes Sam got him out of his comfort zone in the kindest way. He went from a nervous nelly to a GQ model! After both our engagement shoot/ wedding he said to me… “It was so fun taking photos! I love our photographer! We should do this more often! She made that so fun!” All and all I could go on and on about how much I love Sam and the beautiful work her and her team create! If you’re looking for a photographer for ANY occasion, I highly recommend Sam. I cried tears of joy every single time we got photos back . Our photos were more than I could have ever imagined and expected. I will cherish these photos for a lifetime and keep posting them anytime I can because I am obsessed!

Sam!! Not only is Sam such a talented photographer but she is by far one of the sweetest people we met along the way of planning our wedding and working with numerous vendors. The warmth & comfortability she provides when taking your pictures is something not always easy to come by, but that she exudes so effortlessly. She makes the whole photo shoot SO enjoyable and it flies by with all the different fun ideas she has. Sam is also very responsive which is so appreciated in the wedding industry and she truly cares about her clients. When Sam let us know she was due with her first baby the month of our wedding, she had already found a remarkable photographer to take her place & communicated with us up until (literally the day she gave birth) and wished us an amazing wedding day. If that doesn’t show her dedication I don’t know what does. She truly cares so much and makes you feel at ease every step of the way. She has a great turn around time as well & provided so many amazing sneak peaks the week of our wedding. We could not have been happier with our choice of going with her & have already recommended her to numerous of our engaged friends!

Sam is INCREDIBLE!! She did both our engagement and wedding photos and I can honestly say there is not a single bad photo- she is soooooo extremely talented! She is so kind and personable, my husband and I are not naturally super photogenic people and Sam was fantastic at helping up pose and making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Booking Sam for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! I knew after our first zoom call that she was going to be a perfect fit for us. Her style of photos and personality were exactly what we were looking for. She made us feel so comfortable and we were able to be ourselves and it really shows in the photos. We have received so many compliments on not only our photos but on how awesome Sam and Sean were at the wedding. Everyone wants to be their friend! We were originally supposed to get married in May of 2021 but had to postpone to October 2022 and we picked the new date around when Sam was available because we couldn't see anyone else capturing our day for us. We booked Sam for our engagement pictures and August 2021 wedding. From when we booked her to the day of our wedding she was nothing short of exceptional! My now husband and I had never had professional pictures done before our engagement session and I was a little nervous how it would go. Sam made us feel so comfortable and like we were having pictures done with a friend. She was so calm and patient. She made us feel like we've known her forever. It was the best engagement picture experience and put us at ease for our wedding day. Planning a wedding during a pandemic throws a lot of twists and turns at you. I texted Sam so many times in a state of panic. "Do you have dates next summer available?" "Would you still shoot at our wedding if we only had 25 guests?" "Can you hold two dates for me just in case?" Sam was the calm presence in the midst of what felt like a total storm. She reassured me the whole way. She was so flexible and patient with me through the entire process. The week of our wedding (two days before to be exact) I texted her to do a rehearsal photo shoot and she was on it. She responded so quickly and gave us different options. They are some of my favorite pictures too. She is just spectacular. When it came to the day of our wedding, it was like a party in the bridal cottage. She was so relaxed. She made everyone feel important and at ease. It was as if I was getting ready with a girl friend and having pictures done with her. She was LOVED by all (everyone at the wedding)! She took charge, showed us how to pose, added in shots like she almost read my mind of what I wanted to do next. Our family photos were done so quick and easy (which was shocking with so many family members)! In the midst of pictures she even texted our wedding planner to make small changes of where the speakers should be placed and to round the chairs a little more (requests by me). She made the communication between all of the vendors seamless. The whole day was phenomenal from top to bottom and Sam had a huge contribution to that. Sam sent us highlights of our day so quickly and we got to relive our wedding day through the photos during our honeymoon! To this day we haven't stopped staring at all of her amazing pictures and we never will! We have them for life and will always cherish them! Every bride deserves to have Sam on her big day and every couple deserves to have a house filled with Sam's photos! Nothing short of spectacular!

Sam was an absolute dream from start to finish. She was incredibly responsive, flexible and helpful-She helped us create a timeline and put me at ease in the days leading up to our wedding. We booked Sam for our October 15, 2021 wedding at the Royal Park Hotel and she was hands down our favorite vendor!!! Just book her!! She is incredibly talented and I loved the mixture of posing and candid photos - plus her editing style is beautiful ! Her attention to detail is amazing and shows in her work. She was great in the days leading up to the wedding - she helped create a wedding day photo time line, she took our input into the wedding day time line and made adjustments. She was also very organized and sent questionnaires via email leading up to the wedding day to make sure we got all of the photos we wanted. She is professional, has a great attitude, very friendly and bubbly! (Even our family members commented on her friendly personality after photos) We received a “preview album” today (the day after our wedding) and the photos are gorgeous!! We also got to see previews on her Instagram stories throughout the day which was so exciting to us. Highly recommend!

We LOVE Sam! When I say we, I mean everyone in our wedding party and anyone in my family who interacted with her. Her photography style is timeless, she’s patient and sweet and helped direct everyone to ensure you get the absolute best shots. We had such a positive experience with her. Our pictures from Sam are beautiful. She is worth every penny. On a hot, humid, and overcast day, our photos still turned out flawless. We got married in July of 2020. We changed our venue from metro-Detroit to Traverse City last minute. Sam made the day trip to Traverse City for us without hesitation. She was supportive, patient, and professional. She kept the day flowing smoothly but my husband and I always felt relaxed and never rushed. Our guests raved about how she captured the whole day but was “never in the way.” We even were lucky enough to be featured in a wedding magazine because her photos are just THAT gorgeous. RUN DO NOT WALK TO BOOK HER! Seriously look no further than Sam! You will be doing yourself a disservice by not booking her. I wish I could give her more than five stars because she is that good, both as a photographer and a person. I was recommended by a friend who used her as their photographer at their wedding, and I am so happy I chose her. I actually knew I was going to book her before our initial meeting was over. She made both me and my now husband feel so comfortable and at ease during our engagement session and our smaller wedding this year. The way she handled the craziness of COVID being in the wedding business was amazing. We ended up postponing the "big wedding" until 2021 and booked our new date based on her availability.

Sam is deserving of a thousand stars. Sam was the first vendor we reached out to and we’re so glad we did. She shot our engagement pictures and traveled with us to the Sleeping Bear Dunes for our elopement pictures. She scouted out the most dreamy locations and we’ve received SO many compliments on the pictures. Sam made us feel comfortable and is incredibly kind, personable, and talented. We now consider her our friend. Book her NOW - you will not regret it!!

We can’t put into words how happy and thankful we are that Sam was our wedding photographer. She did our engagement photos, which turned out so beautiful, and we are nothing short of amazed at the wedding pictures we’ve seen so far. She rode out this pandemic madness with us and made herself available to shoot our wedding on our rescheduled date. She’s traveled for us, been flexible on last minute changes, laughed with us, been patient with our wild bunch of friends and family, and made our special moments so memorable. If you have stumbled across Sam book her now!!! Or you will regret it. I still get compliments to this day about how amazing our engagement pictures are. During our whole wedding you could truly see how much she loves doing what she does. We had multiple guests come up to Andrew and I to tell us how sweet her and Noelle, the second photographer for the day, were. Our wedding plans changed on what seemed to be a day-to-day process due to the rain, pandemic, etc... but with Sam’s experience she was able to adapt and find new picture locations on the fly. Everything was truly magical. Andrew and I cannot thank Sam enough. She is definitely taking our family pictures as soon as we get a little bun in the oven. (Even if she doesn’t do them, she has no choice! She is a part of our family now, lol) 🤗 10🌟

Sam was AMAZING to work with! Being a covid bride and so many changes she was so flexible with all of them. So positive along the way as well! After our engagement photos I knew our wedding pictures were going to be amazing and they are!!! Brides... stop looking for anyone else cause Sam is your girl!!

We booked Samantha for our Fall 2020 wedding and it was the BEST decision we made throughout the entire wedding planing process! She shot our engagement photos, and even though it was extremely windy and partly rainy, she was amazing throughout the entire thing. The photos turned out incredible, despite the poor weather, and we received so many compliments on them. Unfortunately we had to move our wedding due to COVID, and in doing so, lost Samantha for our big day. I was honestly more sad about not having her shoot our wedding than I was about actually moving the wedding, which says a lot. I would recommend her 10/10 times! If you're looking for a wedding photographer.. seriously.. look NO further!

EVERYONE, look no further. Sam is the photographer you want in your life! She is so kind, responsive, thoughtful, attentive, and incredibly talented. Everything you would want in a photographer, she has it! I 1000000% recommend her. She did my engagement shoot and my small wedding that I planned in one month (#COVIDbride) and she still managed to make it look incredible. All of the pictures she has done for me have been to die for. My husband has very senstive blue eyes, and somehow Sam made it work. She is so much fun and knows exactly what to do. My husband and I are clueless when it comes to taking professional pictures, but we trust Sam to tell us how to pose and its effortless. I am hoping I can still have her capture my large wedding in 2021, but who knows if I will be able to have one. We used Samantha Leigh Studios for our engagement photos in June of 2020 and could not be happier with how they turned out. Sam was incredibly flexible and patient as we had to change our scheduled date around a few times given COVID restrictions. She was incredible to work with and made us feel very comfortable in our first-ever professional shoot. She provided some great suggestions on our location and outfit ideas which was super helpful. After we took the photos, she followed up with some sneak peak photos later that day which was such a sweet touch. She is so talented and captured our relationship and personalities so well in our photos.
