I had to deal with this business first because we had a group on from them. only a few months after I got the group on I called to schedule an appointment and I realized that it was expired by a few weeks. This made me check all other voucher...s that I had from groupon, living social, capitol deal, etc. for an expiration date, and I noticed that this is the case with a few other vendors too. I did not have any problems redeeming the other vouchers , most of them were nice enough to let me use the groupon since the vouchers were all less than a month after the expiration date. but this one was different. he wanted to charge us more than double the price of the groupon, which we agreed to, but then even scheduling was a huge pain. he treated us like he wants to do us a big favor, even after we agreed to pay more, and finally said that they are booked for the whole month. I can't believe that he couldn't even do the 1-hour in studio session for us, but I said I understand, and will contact him later when are not as busy! he had initially asked us how many people will be in the session, and I said 2 to 3. I, my husband, and my sister. he was fine with that and did not mention an extra charge, other than what he already wanted to charge us! a few months after I got back to him, and asked if they can schedule the session we had the voucher for, and also mentioned thatI and my husband, which got married a year before that, but never had a wedding party, are planning to have a wedding party in a few months, so we'd like to take the opportunity to get introduced to his work, to maybe consider him as our wedding photographer. I mentioned all this because I wanted to make sure he's available for our wedding party date, before thinking about his work. He replied that he's available, but now would charge us 300something for the session!!! I understand that an engagement session is priced around this amount, but we were not asking for an engagement session! we just wanted to redeem our voucher for a simple in-studio one hour session! when I mentioned this, he replied that's fine, but the voucher was only for one person being shoot, and I have to pay $250 for each extra person!!!!! what does that say about a business owner? I'll leave it to you to judge. how much money you can drain out of a person at one interaction is not the key to having a successful business. building strong relationships with your clients based on fairness and good service is. I feel sorry for him, and decided I let go of the thought of redeeming this voucher. I saw his work on his website, and I liked it, but would never want to work with a photographer with this type of personality. weddings are enough headache sometimes. I thought I should leave a comment here, so that brides won't have to deal with a vendor that will add to their headaches if something small goes wrong. the results of his work might be fine, but we found him bad-tempered and hard to deal with, so be prepared for that if you choose him.
