I found San Diego Life Events when in search of a coordinator that would be in support of LGBTQ weddings, knowing that Rachel and her team would be bringing love and support to our wedding. When finding her website and seeing âyou are exactly where youâre meant to beâ I actually did know. From the moment I spoke with Rachel she made wedding planning feel like a dream and took so much weight off our shoulders. Every detail we mentioned to her she made come a reality. San Diego Life Events did everything from hang floating candles at our Harry Potter wedding to bring my wife and I had plates of food, ensuring we didnât miss a moment of our beautiful day and weâre still fed. San Diego Life Events made our day so beautiful beyond words. I will never forget the phenomenal day of our wedding and I will always be grateful to have had San Diego Life Events as our coordinator.
Rachel is a lifesaver! She's there for you from day one. We booked her for partial planning and I am so glad we had her through the whole process. Rachel is honestly more than just a coordinator. She got to know us and befriend us; I even got the cutest dinosaur plushie gift from her when I told her I was a paleontologist! She's on top of everything; she'll send payment reminders, reach out to vendors, give great advice, help you through rehearsal, and make you feel taken care of. Our wedding day went perfectly and we had zero worries about the venue, vendors, or guests. My partner and I were able to enjoy our day together!

We had an incredible time working with Rachel. She was super friendly and helpful through the entire planning process. She gave great advice and really enabled us to do our wedding OUR way. She did a great job running the rehearsal and made everyone feel comfortable and prepared. On the day of our wedding, she and her incredible assistant covered everything. I felt like I could really relax and enjoy myself knowing she had everything handled behind the scenes. 100% recommend working with her!!
From the very beginning, Rachel was not only a sweetheart but also a true professional. We hired her for Day Of coordination for our wedding at the Catamaran, and she made sure everything was planned perfectly and ran like a dream. When the notorious bike riders of Mission Beach rolled by just before the ceremony, Rachel skillfully timed the start to make sure they cleared the area. It was such a perfect day, and we truly couldn't have done it without her!
I'm not a review girl but for Rachel I wanted to take the time. She is AWSOME!!!!! I actually found her in a facebook group someone recommended her for wedding planning. Ok so I was cheap I tried to get just day of coordination Rachel was super understanding to our budget but then I had issues with other vendors finding good food and other things we could fit in our budget turns out I need her allot more than I thought. Ok so we upgraded to a custom planning and she did sooooo much for me and set me up big time in a way I didn't think I would be able to afford but I'm telling you she made it happen for me!!! The hubs said he didn't care but Racheleven got him excited about the day đ€Ł so basically u need her I'm telling you. She is the best. I am so glad my budget didn't make it look cheap and everyone had fun so many compliments and I would tell everyone to hire Rachel !!! Thank you Rachel you are just the best and I hope my review helps you get even more business cuz u defiantly deserve it!
Rachel is a gem. She was flexible and so easy to work with. The support we had from her the day of the wedding was so helpful. We had a very fun light hearted wedding and was hoping she would reflect that energy which she really did with dressing up and cracking jokes to break tension all while being attentive and professional.
The only regret we have is that we wished we went with her full package.
We hired Rachel as our Day of Coordinator for our wedding in September 2023 and have nothing but praise to give. Rachel quickly responded to our emails, maintained detailed notes about our plan for the day, and executed on our plan. We also really appreciated how Rachel handled discussions with everyone. Rachel kept an incredibly positive attitude throughout our wedding day and our rehearsal but was also very efficient and direct about what needed to get done so we could all stay on schedule. Rachel helped us plan and coordinate our wedding at our home. She was always very friendly and made herself available for anything that came up. We appreciated how responsive she was and her rolodex of vendors was excellent. I received a ton of positive feedback on her day-of coordination as well. We're really grateful for her support.
If I could do it again, I think I would seek out more hands-on planning services since I was the one would needed to work with the vendors directly during the planning phase. This is by design, however, since such planning services would have probably been a significantly larger expense.
Rachel was the PERFECT day-of coordinator for our special day. She is communicative, efficient, professional, and easy to work with. She showed up to our rehearsal with a vision of our ceremony and executed it perfectly within the 1 hour rehearsal window. I DIYâd most of my own decor and emailed her how I wanted everything set up, and she executed it perfectly. We didnât have any hiccups in our ceremony or reception, it was truly a perfect night. Rachel and her team packed up our gifts and decor at the perfect time and we were able to just take it with us right when the night ended. Our family and friends didnât really have to help with anything at the end of the night because Rachel was on top of it. I highly recommend San Diego Life Events for coordination! Thank you, Rachel!
Rachel was fantastic to work with. She helped me plan a wedding in San Diego while I was living on the East Coast, and helped me through the entire process from start to finish. Her recommendations and insight in venue, catering, and rental selection helped take a gigantic workload down to a managable one. She helped me understand the array of costs listed on the various vender Estimates, and upon my request help me find less expensive alternatives when available, saving us a ton of money. On the day before and the day of, she was invaluable. She helped keep everything running smoothly, allowing me and my spouse to focus on the event and the guests. She was such a great planner to work with.
So just like many other of you couples we were somewhat clueless on the wedding process and Rachel held our hand along the full process. She was quick to answer any and all questions we had. She was very attentive before and during the wedding as she even brought us food and drinks going above and beyond for her clients. She was great at coordinating all of the venders. Even though there were some unexpected hiccups in our wedding not due to her, she was able to pull everyone together and make sure we had an amazing experience and fun celebration for us and our guests. We definitely recommend her! She is wonderful!

We hired Rachel in 2019 and never would we have thought that we would not be able to actually have our wedding until October 15, 2022. So to say the least we worked with Rachel for years to make this day perfect. She is amazing. Rachel really listened to what we envisioned this day to be and made it a reality. She communicated with us throughout the entire process and when we had minor set backs she was always positive and ensured us that everything was going to turn out great and it did. We could not have done it without her and we recommend her 100%.
This is so overdue I'm so sorry Rachel but I have to tell everyone how happy I am that I chose Rachel as my planner. I almost went with someone else but something told me to do one more look. I'm so glad I did because Rachel was the reason we feel our wedding went so perfectly!!! We hired a few vendors before we hired Rachel and one of them was not great. Rachel noticed a few off things in their contract and was even able to help us negotiate getting out of it when we realized what was happening. We definitely would have ended up in a bad situation so thank god for her. At the rehearsal and the actual wedding, Rachel was always smiling positive upbeat, my bridal party and my guests loved her. (Like really loved her lol) and she went above and beyond for my partner and I. She kept checking in with us and our vendors, made sure we had what we needed and that we were happy. We were beyond happy, thrilled, amazed, any other word you can think of that's how we felt on our wedding day, and huge thanks to Rachel for that. We could not have pictured anything better. Hire Rachel trust me. You'll be so glad you did.
Rachel was my wedding planner and she was AMAZING! She's so easy to work with, personable, and clearly knows her stuff. And she was able to wrangle my wedding party of 16 plus a dog. We did partial wedding planning, but Rachel was always available and responsive to any questions that came up during the planning, and took the time to check in with us throughout the whole process. We had a backyard wedding of about 80 and she handled every hiccup and issue that came up, and I'm still amazed at how smoothly everything went! She's incredible at her job and made everything seem so effortless!

I could not be more thankful we chose Rachel for our Wedding Coordinator. I chose do the week of event through Rachel and looking back I think I should have done a little more due to the amount of last minute things I totally did not even think about planning for. Our day of wedding coordinator, Rachel Weinshanker, was hands down the best decision we made when wedding planning. As a project manager and Type A personality, it was very important to me to plan all the details of my special day. I realized the need to have a professional execute the tasks and coordinate all the efforts on our wedding day. From the beginning, Rachel has been thorough in learning all the details of our wedding. She created our master timeline and used her professional experience changing some things around. During our ceremony rehearsal, she was so detailed in how we stood at the altar and recommended things that would look good in our photographs. On our wedding day, she was calm, cheerful and always had a smile on her face. She set up our wedding decor flawlessly and exactly how I envisioned. During the dinner service, we noticed that our catering company was serving the wrong entree and I was very upset. She calmed me down and got to the bottom of what had happened faster than the catering company itself. I will forever be grateful for how she handled that stressful situation and prevented me from going into full melt down mode. Rachel is a true gem and I couldn't have asked for a better person to trust on my wedding day. Thank you Rachel!!
I had the pleasure of getting to work with Rachel 4 months prior to my wedding. She came to the rescue every time I started to have a bit of anxiety planning for the wedding. I reached out to her when there were many questions that came up while planning in which I had no idea how to answer or know where to begin to research. She calmed my nerves multiple times throughout the wedding planning process and she always responded via text or email very enthusiastically, quickly, and reassuringly with more advice than what I would have expected. I must thank her for providing over half of the vendors and services at my wedding which is why and how my wedding turned out not just beautifully but, beyond what I even imagined. From the florist, to the deserts, to the linen/rental and to the smallest details of signs/decor, I owe a lot to Rachel for helping make everything come to life. All vendors she recommended were very cost efficient, friendly and did their job well with enthusiasm just like her :-) She also provided all 12 of my table center pieces, my sweetheart table mr/mrs. sign and came to the rescue with a back up ceremony aisle runway as the rental company forgot my runway!
Not only is Rachel an amazingly organized and friendly coordinator, but she's FUN and all of my guests were raving about her! I along with all 115 guests recommend her as all of our guests came to know her throughout the night. As the story goes, my husband and I booked our venue, and were hoping to find a coordinator who could take our remaining budget and plan/coordinate the rest of our big day. Through the power of the interwebs, we were able to find Rachel and the San Diego Life Events team :)
From the start, Rachel was super amazing to work with. She was quick to respond, and super patient and kind with all my questions (I plan events for a living, so it was kind of hard to relinquish that responsibility to someone else, lol).
Rachel was the perfect fit for us. Prior the wedding, Rachel was incredibly responsive and super duper solution oriented. I felt like she understood my vision of a sweet, simple, and fun celebration and brought it to life. When the day came, everything ran smoothly- her team came to assist, and they kept the day running smoothly! We also loved all the vendors she chose- the rentals were lovely, the photographer was amazing, the DJ kept the party going, the bartender was sweet, the florals were fantastic, and the catering company was awesome! Note-- she even worked with the catering company to make our dream Filipino menu (complete with pig) happen.

She was very affordable as well you get to people for the day and she does the wedding rehearsal as well . I first met Rachel last year at my sisterâs wedding. Her wedding went absolutely seamlessly and so I knew when the time came for me to plan a wedding that Iâd reach out to Rachel and San Diego Life Events. One of the first things my now husband and I did after we got engaged was call Rachel to start tackling the wedding planning. We met Rachel at her office and went through what exactly we were looking for as far as style, venue, price, etc. Rachel offers an all inclusive package that includes about 90% of all your total wedding expenses (venue, party rentals, DJ, floral, cake, officiant, etc.). So we chose to go with the all inclusive package. We ultimately chose to go with The New Childrenâs Museum as our wedding venue. We absolutely loved our wedding at the museum but they did have a strict required vendors list we had to stick to which really inflated our budget. Rachel did an AMAZING job to keep us as close to budget as possible. Iâm also an incredibly anxious worry wort, so I was emailing and texting Rachel almost weekly to go over this and that, asking her questions. She was always so helpful and happy and got back to me ASAP. Rachel was truly priceless during the planning phase however absolutely essential and necessary the day of. She coordinated the drop off and set up with all of the vendors, set up all of the table decor, kept the whole wedding party on schedule, and did all of the take down. I truly couldnât have done it without her! Rachel and San Diego Life Events were great and worth every penny

Rachel and her team were our awesome day-of coordinators for our wedding this October. I was a pretty hands on bride and had done most of the planning myself, but as I started to think about "herding the kittens" on the day of the wedding, I began contemplating hiring a day-of coordinator. A well meaning friend said "you don't need to hire a coordinator! You've got all your girls to help out!" (Yes, but then someone still needs to direct traffic, assign tasks, etcetera!) All I can say is that ignoring that friend and hiring Rachel was the best decision I made for our Big Day!! Rachel handled everrrrrything:
*Decorated and set up the venue and carried out my vision PERFECTLY
*Met the vendors for set up in the beginning and clean up in the end
*Coordinated with the venue to make sure they played certain songs at requested times (we didn't have a DJ)
*Kept the timeline running seamlessly, and checked in with me periodically to give me timing options
*Prompted our announcer when it was time to announce each portion of the evening
*Made sure I had a prosecco when needed (very important)
*Took the initiative to move décor when needed
*Made sure our gifts, cards, and décor made it to our room upstairs
I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting about 10 other things, but needless to say, we didn't have to worry about a thing. My husband commented later that he was pretty surprised that he was able to just show up and enjoy the night and not have to do anything. (He was also impressed by the very detailed questionnaire that she sent during the planning stage, and felt relieved that she "seems to have thought of everything!") Rachel is also extremely friendly, professional, and had the best response time of any coordinator I was considering/interviewing.
If you're wondering if you really need a coordinator, you do. Look no further, hire this awesome team!!
In the Spring, I attended a friend from works daughterâs wedding. I was unsure why my friend had been talking so much about San Diego Life Events and the Wedding Planner, Rachel. She referred to Rachel as âRedâ. She repeatedly told us how Rachel was wonderful to work with and how Rachel was taking care of everything. I was quite amazed when I attended that my type âAâ friend and her demanding daughter were as cool as cucumbers. I watched Rachel, my friend and her daughter during the entire event in wonderâŠ.
I approached Rachel at the end of the event and asked her for her card and if she could work with me on a Surprise 50th Birthday Party for my husband. Very graciously she stayed of course. I was so impressed the way Rachel coordinated my husbandâs surprise party. Not only was he surprised which was incredible, but my guests were all wowed. Rachel made sure all of the details were handled from his favorite type of music, to the food and even the photographer, this gave me piece of mind to ALSO enjoy the party. I highly recommend her Rachel âThe Redâ and her company, San Diego Life Events, for your Party events!!!
Wonderful experience with San Diego Life Events :) My cousin is my best friend, so I wanted to make sure everything went perfectly and smoothly, and it did! I have never seen her so happy! She also could not stop raving about Rachel and her amazing work. Rachel is a very fun and friendly person overall, she always had a smile on her face. Definitely top professionals! Rachel at San Diego Life Events was absolutely amazing! She was my wedding coordinator and day of coordinator for my wedding last September. Let me just say, hiring Rachel was the best money we spent on our wedding! We loved her so much, my sister hired her for her December 2017 wedding!

I was a little skeptical at first since I thought I could do everything DIY and just yelp all vendors. I was wrong! It was super overwhelming and I felt so lost in all the information. I received a recommendation from from a friend to check out San Diego Life Events (specifically Rachel) so I set up a consultation immediately. The meeting went great and both my husband and I were super impressed with their connections, vendors, previous work, and professionalism. We hired Rachel that day!
She worked with us to establish a budget immediately(which was important to us) and get us on a timeline on when to schedule what. Throughout the planning process, we would talk on a weekly basis via email and then more formally about every 2 weeks to discuss what we were looking for regarding the vendors and wedding style, the overall progress, upcoming things that needed to be planned, and any issues we were having. She recommended great vendors and we ended up hiring almost all of them.
Rachel was present for the rehearsal at the ceremony site and walked my whole wedding party through the events. After the rehearsal, she got to work! She coordinated ALL the receiving of wedding materials (tables, chairs, linens, food, DJ, photographer, videographer, baker, florist, etc..) and setting up of the venue. What a HUGE relief!
Day of the wedding, she was awesome. She arrived early to ensure everything went smoothly and perfectly.
She worked well with all vendors and took charge of everything!

San Diego Life Events can be described in one word, AMAZING. My sister's wedding was a blast, thanks to San Diego Life Events. Their coordination was excellent. Their decor, awesome. I couldn't help but ask my sister how much she paid for such classy services and to my greatest surprise, it was affordable. I noticed a particular friendly lady in the team by the name Rachel. Her patience when some guests became rowdy was a true reflection of the company's brand. Awesome people!! I will totally recommend.
