ch only made me more nervous. However, as my wedding date drew closer, Lisa and Mary and the staff at SMC quelled any worries I had. They were extremely responsive, very knowledgeable and they were willing to provide guidance regarding any topics/questions I had. I did all my own décor/arrangements and I planned the ceremony myself as well, so their guidance was so helpful in both regards.
The day of our wedding came and everything came to together beautifully. The chairs, linens, atmosphere; everything was perfect.
Now the food was the real star of the show; The biggest piece of feedback I received from guests was that the food was AMAZING. Some guests told me it was the best wedding food they've ever had! Overall, if you want a beautiful venue that is affordable/reasonably priced (The open bar was INCLUDED in price per plate!!), then SMC is the venue for you.

there were details of the day that I didn’t think about as someone who had never planned a wedding before. Things like: what decor do I provide myself vs what does the venue offer? What meals are given to those with dietary restrictions? Does the venue set up centerpieces or do we need to ask a friend to do that for us? Those are all questions that I didn’t realize I even had until just a couple weeks before the wedding! I think it would have been super helpful if they had an FAQ of some sort that they could have given us when we first booked, so that we could have planned a little bit better. Despite that, our wedding was incredible and it was all thanks to the San Marino Club. We are so happy that we had our wedding here, and we recommend it to future couples!!

I am so grateful for Lisa, she had put my mind at ease during this whole process and let’s just say my anxiety was pretty high! Lisa ignored my phone calls and emails.They are completely heartless and careless. They only cared about our money. I was so heartbroken having to cancel my wedding but I’m so glad that I won’t be having my wedding reception here anymore. Please do not support their business as I was treated so poorly here. I hope that no one has to go through what we went through with this place. I’m just glad we cancelled and don’t have to spend our important day at the San Marino club. Such a complete disappointment.

We have also received photos and videos of your event showing no masks, social distancing measures, dancing, and other state health department Covid violations of your event. The venue that held your event was also closed and fined due to repeated violations of the Michigan Governor's orders. We were very flexible with different ways we could make adjustments or reschedule your wedding. You chose not to work at all with us and instead decided to move your event to Andiamo's, which unfortunately caused you to lose your event deposit.

tion where they felt like they had to eat this food. It may look like a castle from the outside, but the slop they serve is what royalty might feed their pets... as a punishment. The drinks were very low-quality too. The servers had no interest in serving. I saw them take plates away from people who were still eating who just went to the bar. If you were not at your seat when they came around with the cake, you got none. They never set any out or offered it later. On top of that, I heard horror stories from the couple about dealing with the venue.

They helped us plan, and choose all details needed to make our day perfect. They were more than accommodating in the kitchen for food allergies as well. The chef went above and beyond to make sure everyone had the best meal! the food was AMAZING!
The quality of food was excellent and the service was top drawer. We loved our bartender, Jim, and all the service staff! They worked with all of our vendors and helped make on the spot decisions for us the day of wedding to make sure everything ran seamlessly. We highly recommend them for your wedding or next event!

an Marino received a lot of emails from my husband and I in order to make our vision come to life. Brian was always very prompt in answering those emails and putting my mind at ease. We met with him about 1 week before the wedding to answer any final questions and to pick our menu and give our final count. He was very accommodating in that he asked what kind of alcohol we personally drink in order to have those bottles on hand for us. My husband and I also had staff members fill our plate at the reception in the buffet line so we wouldn't have to. It was those little things that really impressed us. Our guests raved about the food and premium bar and I had some guests tell me it was the best wedding food they ever tasted. We encountered some hiccups, like not being able to decorate the space until the day of, which I could then not be present for and was a huge stress. But overall our day was beautiful and I would recommend San Marino Club to anyone for their wedding.

ut on our guests tables. Luckily our DJ noticed before we let the masses into the room. I had to quickly find the map I brought in my trusty binder and my bridesmaids quickly got the table numbers out. I've worked at a banquet hall before, and putting table numbers out is wedding 101. They even set up our guest seating cards for us which all had table numbers (so I wasn't keeping it a secret that out tables would need to be numbered). I'm not sure if we were expected to explicitly request that we use their numbers on the table or what. Word to the wise, make sure you are crystal clear if you are planning to use their numbers, and that they know they will need to set them up.
Second reason is we left our photo booth album there and searched high and low for it. We finally called the hall to ask if they had seen it and sure enough it was in the office the whole time. Just seemed odd to us that they waited for us to hunt it down vs calling us and just letting us know they had it.
These two events were minor in the grand scheme of the wedding-just something I'd want to make sure the next bride is aware of. Again, service and food were excellent and the price was very reasonable.

the date that San Marino scheduled me for. This isn't just a food tasting for me, it's the first time I get to see the venue in person. I arrive, wait in the lobby for 10-15 mins and then get handed a take out box to "try at home". Wtf kind of food tasting is that? There was no explanation, just a hand off of the take out box and a nudge out the door. So unimpressed and so upset that I've booked this place for my big day. My weddings in October and I'm frantically trying to find somewhere else :(.

I worked with Brian at the San Marino Club and felt like I was the only bride! He responded to all calls or e-mails within a day or two and made sure our wedding day was top notch....
My husband and I walked in and it was more than we ever expected!
The food was hot and delicious! We had our own personal server for our table that made sure we were taken care of the entire night.
The dessert table was GORGEOUS and yummy! The late night pizza was a treat and everyone loved it!
The San Marino has the biggest dance floor and allowed for all my 220 guests to dance without problems.
The San Marino Club is top notch and we are so lucky we were able to get married there! We felt like royalty!

We also received many comments from family & friends stating the food was the best they ever had! We had a buffet with Prime Rib & Chicken Marsala.

They don't allow you to taste test their entire menu, but it didn't matter to us and our families; there's a reason this place has been in business for so long!! They will allow you to taste test certain entrees if you have trouble narrowing your decisions down.

to be ready so we could just set our centerpieces on the table, not put them together there, and when we got there the head table was not set up and the tables didn't have table cloths on them or chairs around them. They also told us we would have a suite in the upstairs to keep stuff if need be but they were all locked. We did have an awesome bartender! I heard amazing things about this place and was left a little dry in the mouth.
