The event pros behind this space offer all-inclusive wedding packages, so you can just relax and be fully present with your loved ones as you celebrate. Proudly Family-Owned and Operated Since 2019, Nancy and Mark have been the dynamic duo behind Sanctuary Events. They decided to run the venue with a goal: not only to offer nearlyweds a stunning place to tie the knot, but to handle all the logistics and keep things stress-free. The couple has assembled an experienced events crew, who are dedicated to making your big day a magical experience for everyone. At Sanctuary Events, you’ll always enjoy a personal touch, collaborating with a team that takes the time to learn about and achieve your vision. Your Seamless Celebration On your wedding morning, feel free to sip a latte (or champagne!), enjoy a brunch, or just simply relax, while the team takes care of all the setup. Sanctuary Events offers a wide range of elegant decor, from votives and signage to linens and table numbers. When it’s time to celebrate, you can say, “I do,” in the breathtaking ceremony room, an industrial-chic setting with soaring ceilings, exposed brick walls, modern chandeliers, and even 16-foot curtains. The venue offers an arbor or an arch, as well as candles for the aisles, greenery, and chiffon draping. While you pose for photos after tying the knot, guests can hang out by the in-house bar, staffed by a skilled mixologist team. Bar packages include a variety of beers, wines, premium liquors, and soft drinks, with at least four hours of service. For dinner, you can enjoy service from Sanctuary Events’ preferred caterer, Sovereign, who will prepare a gourmet multi-course meal from hors d’oeuvres to dessert. After food, the venue transforms smoothly for an unforgettable dance party with your DJ of choice. Altogether, you can welcome up to 175 guests to Sanctuary Events for your big day. Nancy
Founder
Before Sanctuary Events was born, Nancy has always had a vision for hosting elaborate parties. No matter the occasion, the celebration was always intentional and well thought out. When the historic building in downtown Plainfield became available, making a portion of the space an event venue was a natural decision. As founder of Sanctuary Events, Nancy is hands on in operations, from tours to the wedding day. In addition to her passion for working with clients, Nancy has added in-house floral and design options to help reduce stress in the planning process.
Shelly
Director of Events
Shelly has worked with Sanctuary Events for 4 years. She works directly with couples from the moment they tour and book to their final review meeting and even works (most) wedding days. Shelly manages the team and is your go-to person for all your wedding venue needs. She says the curtain pull will ALWAYS bring tears to her eyes. It's her favorite part of wedding day.
Christian
Event Lead
Christian has worked with Sanctuary Events for 2 years. He has recently taken on the role of Event Lead. Christian’s goal is to create a seamless, memorable experience for couples and their guests. When asked, “What’s your favorite part of wedding day?” He said the atmosphere. Because every wedding is different and its incredibly rewarding to see everything come together and be apart of such special celebrations.

park and get picked up and dropped off, in house florals and it’s very clear they love what they do! They have so many events and weddings going on almost every weekend and you still feel like you’re their main priority. Day-of Shelly really goes above and beyond and makes sure you are constantly getting taken care of and is a great day-of coordinator! Our day went so smooth and the space is so intimate and magical! Very minor feedback: The restaurant gets a little loud so guests sitting further back during dinner hour can’t hear speeches very well. I wouldn’t let it stop you from booking though! This place is top notch and so are their people! Most magical day of our lives with the most magical venue!! A MUST BOOK!

ortunities with the beautiful bar, spiral staircase, and blue velvet couches. Nancy and Shelly are honestly amazing. When Shelly tells you they will take care of everything - believe her. They made sure everything was taken care of before and on our wedding day. I can honestly say I did not have a single worry on my wedding day and I would recommend this space to anyone looking to have a comfortable, beautiful wedding that guests can’t stop talking about.

got married at Sanctuary Events and it's a really, really cool looking space. All of our guests raved about how awesome it was – it's an old trolley car warehouse converted into a trendy events space. Not only was the set up awesome, but it was really great working with the Sanctuary Events staff. They were on top of everything and were very reasonable when stuff popped up during the planning process. The only hiccup and thing to consider: we didn't have a DJ and opted to play music off our iPad into some speakers we rented and the sound quality wasn't great. But we had a smaller wedding and wanted the hang out vibe instead of the dancing vibe anyway.
