About this vendor
Sanctuary Farm is an eco-friendly wedding venue located eight miles west of Chapel Hill, NC. The farm runs on solar power and boasts a large community garden, a renovated horse barn, and a five-acre lake surrounded by a meadow on one side and an oak forest on the other. The barn has a full-service catering kitchen and both an enclosed and open loft that can accommodate rehearsal dinners, receptions, and dancing.
We welcome all loving unions and pride ourselves on exceptional hospitality. Book an entire weekend at Sanctuary Farm, from Friday until Sunday. We have a variety of overnight accommodations, from geodesic domes to yurts to barn rooms. For your weddings, our newly constructed ceremony site under the trees, named "The Grove," along with our Pondside Gazebo, often comes with the sitings of blue herons, ospreys, and kingfishers. Nighttime music is accompanied by a chorus of frogs and barred owls.
We'll also provide tables, chairs, and other furnishings to bring everything together. The property has ample parking space. This peaceful natural meadow can be the ultimate host on your special day. If you let us, we can provide an unrivaled level of rustic elegance and hospitality.

If I could give Sanctuary Farm more than five stars I most definitely would! The hospitality we received on our wedding day and the attentiveness to detail was unmatched. Pam was a...
mazing and so responsive. This place by far exceeded our wedding day expectations, we could not have asked for a better venue and host. Perfect for an outdoor wedding themed around nature and calming energy. Forever grateful to Sanctuary Farm and Pam and Constantine for working with us on short notice and accommodating all of our wedding day visions.
Sanctuary Farm was a beautiful spot to have our wedding. It's a wonderful space for a cozy wedding with a garden, gazebo, indoor, and outdoor spaces. The gazebo over the pond is ...
magical, and is easy to decorate and make beautiful. We processed through the garden and in spring time it was perfect, lots of green, birds chirping etc. Lots of great spaces to take pictures.
Our guests enjoyed dancing in the dance loft with a fantastic sound system.
It was also easy to have a wedding on a budget, Sanctuary farm caters to a little more rustic outdoors wedding, and we didn't have to rent that much, Dishes for the reception of course, but that was it if I remember correctly. There's enough indoor spaces to have an alternate if the weather was bad, as sometimes happens in NC, but we didn't need it.
After the reception we had a variety of possible activities. We had our dance in the dance loft, and some people who are less inclined towards dancing migrated out to the fire circle. We also stayed overnight in the Yomes, so we didn't have to clear out by Midnight or whatever other venues require. We were able to camp out Saturday night and have a communal breakfast with some of the others who decided to camp out that night. I think there were even a few people who decided to dance all night. So that's a lot of flexibility in a Wedding venue that we enjoyed.
If you're the kind of person who wants to get married in a beautiful nature setting that feels more "real" than most other venues and also potentially camp out and dance and sing songs around a fire circle, this place might be for you.
