It is hard for me to fully explain how central Sandiwood Farm was to making our little wedding the most beautiful and perfect day we could have ever imagined. I’m not the first to ...
say that there is something magical about the farm, and as soon as you step onto it you can see why people feel that way. It is the overwhelming beauty of nature nurtured by a loving family and every bit of the beauty and love can be felt at the farm. But the real magic comes from Sara Schlosser, the owner of Sandiwood, and her kind and generous family. Sara was the most kind, patient, and flexible person to work with and she helped us navigate changing our original 150 person wedding dreams into an incredibly special and intimate ceremony and dinner, all outside and socially distanced, for a super small group. Details changed up until the last minute and since it was all very DIY, Sara and her family rolled up her sleeves and helped us with every detail. All of the flowers and most of the food came from the farm and all of our guests fell in love with the farm as much as we did. At one point, Sara and her daughter Sandi (who is the owner of VT Harvest Catering and catered our dinner) came out to tell guests about the food and received an impromptu standing ovation! We couldn’t have done it without Sara and by the time the wedding came, I was so glad she was there to experience it with us because she had become such an important part of the day. The farm delivered with beautiful views, gorgeous flowers, perfect weather, the sweetest greenhouse dinner, incredible produce and food including maple syrup tapped on the farm as a gift for our guests, a breathtaking sunset, and the loving attentiveness of Sara, Bob, Kyle, and Sandi that made it all stress free and absolutely perfect. The farm comes with beautiful wood top tables, lots of farm-y seating, wood chairs, and more that made it easy to pull off our little last minute celebration. Sara knows everyone locally and gave us recommendations for every vendor. She is professional, generous, incredibly kind, and the keeper of the most beautiful wedding spot in VT. Visit Sandiwood - you will not be disappointed!
We really enjoyed celebrating our marriage at Sandiwood Farm. Sara thoughtfully guided us through the design of our ceremony and vows in preparation for our wedding, and was an out...
standing resource throughout the day and evening. Sara and Bob’s familiarity with local vendors served us well (shuttle services, tent and supply vendors, etc.), and their flexibility with our desire to have a heavily DIY event made it possible to have the special day we had hoped for. Although it rained on our wedding day, it was still impossible not to enjoy the beautiful setting of the farm, the views of the Green Mountains, and the warmth of the greenhouse. Thank you, Sara and Bob, for hosting us and providing a stunning venue that will ensure our wedding day is one we will always remember fondly.
Sandiwood is such a beautiful place and was great for our wedding. Sara is really lovely and was helpful throughout the event. I do wish everything had been a bit more organized. F...
or example, we had talked about fireworks when we first visited but didn't find out until just a couple months before the wedding that the farm no longer could allow fireworks due to getting a different event permit. My family also had to organize getting the chairs to the ceremony site, among a few other details the day before/day-of.
Overall, though, it all went off without a hitch. Plus, the flowers Sara did for us were gorgeous.
My husband and I had the most ✶magical✶ wedding of our DREAMS at the beautiful Sandiwood Farm this past August! When looking at venues, it was important to us to choose a place tha...
t was both meaningful and fitting for us; being the outdoorsy, gardening nature lovers we are - and being just 20 minutes down the road from were I grew up in rural Vermont - we knew we hit the jackpot the moment we visited the farm... not just because it ticked these boxes, but because there is something truly special about this place. (I think fairies might live there.) Where to begin! Sara and Bob, the farm owners, are absolutely wonderful. They are so kind and you can tell they genuinely care about your story as a couple and hosting your special day. Sara was so responsive to all my many, many emails the year leading up to our wedding, and so accommodating with all my special requests on the wedding day. The bouquets that Sara made for my bridesmaids and I were GORGEOUS!!! Honestly, they were something out of a bridal magazine. We were all blown away. My husband and I met backpacking in Greece and she beautifully incorporated olive leaves - which we used for table decor - into my bouquet and Sam's boutonniere. She also made the sweetest flower crowns for my maid of honor and our flower girl, which again were stunning!! Sara also offers a day-of wedding coordination service, which allowed me to completely relax and enjoy the day. There were so many little details she took care of for me, and she and Bob were so great making sure everything ran smoothly. Our gorgeous dinner was provided by their daughter, Sandi, who runs a farm-to-table style catering company out of Stowe called VT Harvest Catering (a lot of the food came right from the farm!); not only was it delicious, but so beautiful - there were flowers in the salad! I simply can't rave enough about the food, or the beauty of this place... and neither can our guests! Sam's family and friends came over from England to meet my family and see Vermont for the first time, and we couldn't have imagined a more picturesque setting: the sweeping meadows and beautiful gardens, the mountain views lined by pine trees, the stone arch where we had our ceremony - with hay bale seating set up by Sara and Bob - and the most special greenhouse where we had our reception. Guests danced their hearts out under the bistro-lit sailcloth tent provided by VT Tent Co. and enjoyed the fire pit that Bob got going after the most amazing sunset! * * * Many of our guests said it was the best / most special wedding they'd ever been to. One of our guests even wrote us a card in response to our thank you card to them simply because they had to rave about it! There was magic in the air... Sandiwood will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we can't thank Sara & Bob enough for hosting our most magical wedding celebration. I dreamt of my wedding day since I was a little girl, and our wedding at Sandiwood Farm was beyond my dreams in every way. ♡
This is a beautiful venue. We got married in the field, overlooking Mt. Mansfield but there are many available ceremony sites, including a stone arch. We rented a large event tent ...
(30x60) which was perfect for drinks, bar, dancing, and serving food. We wanted a space in case it rained or was very sunny (it ended up being 95F). We used the greenhouse event space for dinner. We were able to fit 120 in the greenhouse for dinner. We did have to rent some additional tables (only 4), and some additional chairs (50) in order to seat everyone. However, they do have beautiful farm tables that attach and have a beautiful wood top. This eliminated the need for table cloths or decorations. Sara and Bob were great to work with. They were very accommodating. However, I would encourage setting up 2 days before instead of one. We were rushing around trying to get everything set both that day and the day of the wedding. This venue was absolutely gorgeous and people keep telling me that it was the most beautiful and unique venue they'd ever been to. It is a farm. If you want every single detail to be perfect, this may not be the venue for you. It is a real farm, and is absolutely wonderful. However, if you are very particular, this may be a tough venue for you. Lastly, this venue requires that you use their daughter as the caterer. The food is absolutely fantastic, but a little more than we were hoping to pay per plate. By the time the servers, VT taxes, and tips are paid, its $85/plate easily, and that's with their minimal option. Again, possibly the best wedding food I have ever tasted and competitive pricing for Stowe area, but pricey for us.
We had our wedding at Sandiwood this past weekend and we could not have had a better experience. The venue in Wolcott, VT is absolutely gorgeous and Sara and Bob do an amazing job ...
helping with everything from day 1 of planning right up to the morning after clean up. Our friends and families were beyond impressed with all the fresh flowers, wonderful service, fabulous views, and amazing food from Vermont Harvest Catering. It was the best night of our lives and much of that is thanks to Sandiwood Farm. Thank you so much!!! Hilary & Max Rooney
My son and daughter-in-law were married at Sandiwood Farm last weekend and it was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL WEDDING I've ever seen. Sara and Bob's farm setting was gorgeous -...
all the green outdoors and fresh flowers (from their garden!) created a splendid setting for the bride and groom'. Sara made the bride a floral crown that was perfect. Bob built the Chuppah. Chef Sandi of Vermont Harvest Catering prepared delicious, fresh food for the reception and the dinner. The magnificent farm setting, the tasty food by Vermont Harvest Catering, the beautiful flowers -- and the happy bride and groom -- all added up to the most special wedding I've ever been to. What a pleasure to see one's children married in such a very special setting. Thank you to Sara and Bob for making this happen.
We had our dream wedding at Sandiwood Farm at the end of June 2016, and cannot say enough good things about our beautiful venue. Sandiwood Farm is a working organic farm, so the fo...
od, produce, and flowers are as fresh, beautiful, and delicious as they come. Sara and Bob (the owners) helped us have the most magical day!
The farm is a gorgeous venue for lovers of nature, tranquility, mountains, fun, and amazing local food. Sandiwood Farm has a beautiful greenhouse, which was specifically designed to host events, such as farm-to-table dinners or wedding receptions, in either rain or shine. The farm has acres of organic vegetable plots, flower gardens, operating greenhouses, and acres of sugar maple trees.
Sara always responded promptly to all my emails and questions, and she was very accommodating in helping to create our vision for the day. She grew some exquisite pale pink peonies, which I used for my bouquet. Sara is an experienced and talented flower farmer and floral arranger.
Sara and Bob were available during set up the day before our wedding, and helped ensure that everything ran smoothly during our celebration. Chef Sandi of Vermont Harvest Catering, worked with us to create a delicious and personalized menu, with as much local and Sandiwood Farm ingredients as possible. Our guests (and their taste buds) were blown away. The food was delicious and looked beautiful too.
The sunset over the mountains was spectacular, and we enjoyed watching the lightning bugs light up the surrounding fields, mirroring the stars. Bob had our evening campfire blazing before we even knew it, and soon our guests were roasting marshmallows over the flames. We took advantage of Sandiwood Farm's house-made maple syrup for wedding favors. To top off our perfect day, Bob and Sara offered camping on their property, so we invited our guests to bring their tents for a rustic camping experience in the fields. It was our perfect day, and we are so grateful to Sandiwood Farm for everything.
