Santa Barbara String Quartet is a wedding entertainment band based out of Santa Barbara, CA. Having played for hundreds of weddings, they pride themselves in delivering you the highest calibre of musicianship. Their ensemble consists of four versatile musicians who can also perform as trios, duets or solo instrumentalists. The SBSQ aspire to give each wedding performance a unique flair and are happy to play your favourites on your special day.
Santa Barbara String Quartet are an experienced entertainment group with over 30 years of experience performing at weddings and events across Santa Barbara. They have experience playing for many genres which have lent to their vast repertoire, from traditional and classical music to contemporary covers.
The SBSQ consists of two violinists, a viola and a cello, however, they can also incorporate vocals into their performances. Their ensemble offer entertainments services for ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions and rehearsals for your convenience. The SBSQ are open to learning new songs to give you a truly personalised entertainment experience on your special day.

We hired the Santa Barbara String Quartet for our wedding in Nov 2025 (SO sorry it took so long to leave a review!)
I just want to say if we had to do our wedding all over again, ...
of any/all the vendors we got for the day, the Santa Barbara String Quartet were the ones we would rebook no-brainer EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Everything about working with them was a delight. Emily worked me me on what songs I wanted and was helpful in walking me through what arrangements would work best for each piece. Every part of the day where they played was personalized and so so special to us! They even adapted songs that were probably really tricky to do in quartet form (they did "Everytime we touch" by Cascada for example and it sounded SO GOOD)
But perhaps most importantly, when we and guests were looking back on the day, almost everyone commented on how much they loved the music. It really became a personalized and memorable part of our day and I really dont think it would have been the same without them!
To Emily and the group, we really can't thank you enough for making this the best and most lovely day of our lives! ❤️
(Also not sure where to put this part but, our very high energy little 3 year old nephew just sat there in awe listening to them so I really think having them is also very diverting for kids 😆)

erline weird special requests and Emily was so wonderful to work with every step along the way. She went out of her way to figure out how to find the music for a fairly random/obscure song I love from Titanic, and even sent me a sample of her playing the specific stanza (also from Titanic) I wanted played while I walked down the aisle. I love strings music so much and I could cry tears of joy just remembering what a beautiful addition they were to our special day. You will not regret hiring them for any special occasion!! My heart goes on for Emily and the SB String Quartet!

rest of the Santa Barbara String Quartet was a breeze. They were always clear about what they needed from me and the couple, they responded quickly to emails and other communications, and oh yah, they were incredible musicians! The couple chose to have the ensemble play for both the morning ceremony and the brunch reception, which set the mood for an unbelievably romantic afternoon.
I highly recommend the Santa Barbara String Quartet to anybody who is looking to add string music to their celebration. You will not be disappointed.
Santa Barbara String Quartet was the most perfect choice for my January wedding. I didn't have many preferences for our wedding, but one thing I always wanted was a string quartet....
After looking around for a while I was put in touch with Emily who was so pleasant to work with. My wife and I were able to pull a perfect set list from their repertoire and they even did an outstanding job on a rendition of the song I sung to my wife right before I proposed. They were very professional and worked well with our day of coordinator to make sure the day was as close to perfect as it could be. I only wish I could have sat and enjoyed the music more, but I was king for a day so I had much to do. :) Thank you so much, Emily!
