e made everyone (including myself) feel at ease. He had been to our venue (the Schlitz Audubon) countless times and knew all of the great spots. He was super organized and I never had to worry about anything photography related leading up to the wedding. He also works super efficiently, I got my photos back only a month after the wedding which was half the amount of time I expected! I would 100% recommend booking him for your wedding, he is worth every penny!

he engagement shoot and during our wedding. During the engagement shoot, even though it was raining, Santiago moved quickly and strategized to get the optimal photos and they came out great despite the bad weather. He knew exactly where to place us and how to direct us for the best shots, and he is a very skilled editor as well so the photos came out looking beautiful! You know a true professional by how they react in less than ideal circumstances, and he quickly found a way around the situation. :)
For our wedding day and wedding photos, he took so many amazing, emotive shots of us, our family and friends. We had a wonderful "first look" and pre-wedding photo session in the forest and by the lake at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, where he drove us around in a golf cart to get to the best spots. Santiago is a master of wedding nature photos! The way he frames couples in the forest, among the trees etc. is incredible. I especially love the zoomed out shots where we are surrounded by the forest, or the photos by the pond from a distance. We've received so many positive and glowing comments from our family and friends, saying how they look like something out of a fairy tale. The photos are GORGEOUS and it is difficult to pick which ones to print! Also, we felt so comfortable with Santiago directing us during the shoot, despite not being very used to photoshoots. :) He captured amazing photos during our ceremony and reception as well. For example, the candid photos of our parents cheering and hugging us after the ceremony are very sweet and touching. He has a great eye and is an incredibly skilled photographer. He's always quick on his feet to get the best shot. We really appreciated him putting us at ease, being so creative and all his excellent skills to capture our engagement and wedding. And during the wedding, we were so grateful for his positive energy and adaptability on a very stressful day. We were running late for the "first look" photos but Santiago was very understanding and kind. I am so glad we found him and chose him as our wedding photographer. The photos have this timeless style and we feel spoiled for choice with the amount of great pictures. He made us look stunning on our big day and we are grateful. :)

n before the wedding was always transparent and swift, and on the big day itself, Santiago proved to be not only a creative master behind the lens but a genuinely kind, caring, and patient person whom we're so glad we got to know.
He made us feel so comfortable, even during some of our more private moments like sharing our vows and post-ceremony pictures at sunset. It honestly felt like we were just hanging out with a good friend!
Furthermore, the collection of photos he gave us is absolutely jaw-dropping and *unfathomably beautiful*. Santiago has a true eye for catching key details and capturing emotions, expressions, and moments throughout the course of the celebration. There is such a rush throughout one’s wedding day… small things that we didn’t get to see firsthand on the day of, such as the centerpieces at the dinner tables, were commemorated in Santiago’s images. We are not "picture people" so his pre-planning and direction was extremely helpful for us to help visualize exactly what "shots" we wanted, and his day-of coordination was second to none. We also hired an independent videographer (which I know can lead to come conflicts as both try and capture what they need) and you would've thought Santiago & he had worked together for years the way they shared the room to make sure WE got the best results possible.
We even got out pictures back in two-weeks time (incredible for the hundreds he took) and have been looking at them nightly. Highly recommend for all fun-loving couples who like to have fun while having their lifetime memories captured!

Santiago traveled into the city for us, we live in Chicago but we’re getting married in Wisconsin which is how we found Santiago! He made the experience incredible and seamless and was very knowledgeable of the spots we wanted to experience for our engagement pictures! He even adapted as we added a new spot week of! As for the wedding, Santiago arrived early to scope out our venue well in advance to plan the best spot for bridal party pictures and our first look. choice! The pictures are so vivid; they really capture all of the joy and laughter. Something about Santiago's style just makes you feel like you're back in the moment when looking at them. You can see every laugh line on our faces, which is exactly the emotion we want to feel again when looking through the pictures. His range of photography skills are unmatched. We took pictures in old buildings, under tree cover, at night under Edison lights, and pictures surrounded by sparklers. In each setting the clarity is beyond anything I have seen from another photographer. We got our pictures back pretty quickly after our wedding and could not stop looking through them. It is a great problem when you have too many favorites to choose from!
Aside form the exceptional quality of Santiago's photos, I also cannot say enough about how great his personality is. I have been in weddings where photographers are a little over the top or almost seem bossy. Santiago was very laid back, yet capable of rallying groups and setting up shots perfectly. Santiago provided recommendations and guidance for engagement shoot locations, and the photos were so stunning our friends asked if we traveled abroad to take them (nope, Kohler Andrae park in MKE). For the outdoor Madison wedding, it was 90+ degrees and he managed to last minute switch around photo locations to keep our family and wedding party in the shade. Our guests commented on how he was everywhere, and we still have no idea how he was able to get so many photos from different angles and locations. If you're worried he doesn't have a second shooter, don't because he doesn't need one. Both the couple/family posed shots, and the candid ceremony and reception shots are equally amazing. He was so pleasant to work with, his photography is fantastic, and we would choose him all over again given the opportunity.

the elevated artistry expected of an exceptional wedding photographer. Working with Santiago leading up to the wedding was easy and professional. His laid back day-of presence was welcome during a time that can be quite hectic, balanced with his assertive wrangling of the the bridal party and my large family for the requisite list of pictures I provided. During the reception, numerous guests comments how impressed they were that he was everywhere, capturing all the candid moments of fun. We received our photos quickly and they exceeded our expectations. As background, we found Santiago online when searching for a wedding photographer and after reviewing his impressive website. Prior to booking, my only hesitation was that he normally operated as a single photographer (many of the Chicago photographers we spoke with operate as a team of two) and I was concerned as one person he may not have the capacity to capture all the shots in the big church we chose and the multiple hotels where we were getting ready. He put my mind at ease pre-wedding by working with me to provide a detailed plan of his movements. After reviewing the photos, this was a non-issue as he was able to capture photos from multiple viewpoints and places in relatively short periods of time. I'm so grateful we found Santiago - he's not only an incredibly talented photographer, but also an all around great person!

The weather was iffy on our wedding date, but he worked quickly to get in our first look and group shots with our wedding party before the rain came. My husband and I live and Tennessee and were not able to meet with Santiago before our wedding, but over phone calls and FaceTime, he was able to ask us questions and get a feel for what we wanted for our wedding. He was also incredibly responsive throughout the planning process and arrived early to scout out locations at our venue, which matched up with what we had in mind. It was a pleasure working with Santiago and his photographs of our day were beyond beautiful! He was so fun, he had us laughing a lot, and was very professional. He captured so many amazing candid moments, I don’t even remember him being behind the scenes (he’s like a ninja), and we were so pleased with the final results. We were smiling so much reliving the day through the photos! Santiago is a truly talented photographer.

her! We were so happy with everything- Santiago was awesome, so friendly and laid back, while also having lots of ideas and leading us well during the photoshoots and giving us plenty of options. I love how he incorporates nature and uses natural lighting, definitely the look we were going for. I was also interested in how he uses film as well (he also took some polaroids for our wedding photos which was really fun). I highly recommend going with Santiago!
